Has anyone successfully entered the QFF NFL competition?

This competition, that is: https://www.qantas.com/en-au/frequent-flyer/member-offers/enews-nfl-competition

Now, I do understand that the: *Promotion ends 19 August 2026 11.59pm (AEDT). Open to Victorian residents only. Terms and conditions apply,* [*see link for full details*](https://www.qantas.com/en-au/frequent-flyer/member-offers/enews-nfl-competition/terms)\*.\*

When entering the competition form, all I get is an error message in red: *There was an error submitting. Please try again.*

Has anyone else successfully managed to enter this comp? I’ve tried the browser on my phone, and on both my laptop and work computer, so maybe it’s an error at their end of the website?

Dyurrite (Mount Arapiles): Feedback on Proposed Changes to Access & Improving Facilities

If there are any Dyurrite (Mount Arapiles) fans here, Parks Victoria is investing $1.7 million to improve visitor facilities at Dyurrite. To guide this work, they are asking for people to help identify priorities and share ideas about how they could improve facilities, tracks or access points in the park.

Some of you might know that Parks VIC claims it has been consulting with First Nations groups, the local council and other corporations for about 12 - 18 months regarding the possible future closure of many infamous climbing routes.

The local, national and international climbing community - some of whom have been visiting this region for decades - have been up in arms about this, however, arguing that there hasn't been adequate consultation with the people that actually really do visit Mt Arapiles. Moreover, some claim a certain bias.

Recent remarks by the ABC are certainly indicate of a relatively closed, hushed process (and I quote):

>Parks Victoria had declined multiple interviews with the ABC this year in regards to climbing access in its western Victorian parks.

>Last month, when asked for comments on a climbing access matter at Dyurrite, Parks Victoria referred the ABC to Mr Rockell, describing him as the best-placed person to do the interview.

>ABC responded, saying it required an interview with Parks Victoria, the manager of the park, not a stakeholder from the working group.

>ABC told Parks Victoria that BGLC echoed the sentiment that Parks Victoria should comment on the issue. Parks Victoria did not respond.

>Last week, ABC asked Parks Victoria why it was delegating interviews to Mr Rockell, noting it was the primary authority responsible for park management, making it the official voice for such matters.

In any case, there's another survey open.

If any folks here are regularly visitors to Mt Arapiles, you might like to consider sharing your voice, as Parks VIC figures out what to do with a $1.7 million investment in facilities, besides closing many of the trad climbing routes.

It would be great for the real users to inform them, rather than white-collar office works in the city, 4+ hours drive away, who haven't visited there once in their lives.

Here's the link to the survey to share your voice, if you're interested: https://engage.vic.gov.au/project/dyurrite/page/facilities

I spent four years writing a 774-page book about every Tintin story and adaptation

Hello everyone!

I'm a Tintin fan from France, and over the last four years I've been researching every Tintin album, every Hergé series, and almost every adaptation.

One question kept coming back: what happens to Tintin after 2054, when he enters the public domain?

That research eventually became a 774-page book, but I'd genuinely love to discuss the subject with other Tintin fans here.

What do you think is Tintin's future after 2054?

If anyone is curious about the project, I'm happy to answer questions...

Couple of Questions from a 159 Owner…

Firstly, I’m getting annoyed with the lack of availability of discontinued and obsolete parts for the 159 2.2 JTS. Coolant hose, engine mount, power steering pipe, etc You know the ones.

Sure, there are lots of parts OEM and others aftermarket when it suits but, geez, so many of my recent repairs have required those elusive parts that don’t seem to exist, no matter the cost!

Survived so far, thanks to the help of a few different mechanics and online advice but is it time to pass on the 159 to someone who else the time, patience and finances to keep it on the road?

Regular maintenance is key. I’m used to that now. It’s just common sense really. But, is it time to change up to a daily driver that is a little cheaper on parts - or, more importantly, doesn’t have quite such rare parts, for that matter?

But then, I’ve been spoilt. This is only my second car. My first was the SAAB 900 Aero. Classic ‘89 era. Both cars handle well. They’re driver’s cars. Solid. No body roll like the crap cars we’ve hired on vacation. You feel as one with them when you drive on longer road trips. Driving feels enjoyable, not just a chore like it does in, say, a Hyundai i30. You know the story.

But, very little options compare to my old SAAB and my current 159 on the market these days. That is, for under AUD$15k or thereabouts, give or take.

I’ve considered wagons, for their practicality, first and foremost. Audi A4? BMW 330i Touring? Volvo V60 Cross Country? Skoda Octavia RS? Peugeot 508 GT? Hmm… I like the idea of occasional capability on unsealed roads too, or rare drives above the snow line. I don’t really need a 4x4. A Land Rover would be nice, but gawd, that’d be worse than maintaining a 159….

See my dilemma? What’s your advice, fellow Alfistis? I’m asking here because you understand. You get me. You know what I’ve been through. You know how I feel behind the wheel of these cars. Because you feel it too. Nobody else does. But then, nobody else I know has owned an Alfa.

Secondly, as a side, how do the servicing, parts cost and repairs of a Giulia compare to the 159?

How long do your ANZ bonuses take to appear?

Longer than the usual automatic transfer of ANZ to Velocity?

I hit three months last week, and had met the minimum spend requirements before then, but still no sign of that sign up bonus.

English Translation: Interviews with Numa Sadoul

Numa Sadoul’s interviews with Hergé, first published in the 1980s I think, offer a brilliant insight into his personal life, career, artwork and research. Well worth reading… if you can read French.

However, is there an English translation available yet?

Places option for searching gone?

I used to be able to click on Places, explore a map or browse photos by location.

Is this not an option anymore? Have they removed it?

The attached screenshot shows all I can see now. Darn!
