Why would he let them get the high ground?

>!With Frank’s book Jamie knew that the other side would have the advantage of the high ground and where they’d be coming from. Why wouldn’t he just station his militia up there to begin with to take away their advantage and attack as soon as they arrived when they wouldn’t have been prepared!<

He knew what was to happen so why…..

Please clarify what was said

Two things I didn’t know and weren’t translated. Right after each of the clans said their motto, Jamie yells something to the group in another language. What was it? Also, just before he goes into battle he and Claire speak to each other in Gaelic. What did they say?

Help me tell me daughters 🙏🏻

I found out that I have the BRCA1 mutation though I do NOT have cancer. I have two daughters in their 20s that I need to tell and encourage to be tested. For those who were told by their moms in their 20s, what did she say that was helpful? What do you wish she would have said that she didn’t? What did she say that you wish she hadn’t? What should I avoid saying? How do I keep them from going down dark rabbit holes of Google searches waiting for their test results to come back like I did?

In HMT it seemed that all of the aunts were older, above child bearing age. Vidala is obviously younger than Lydia but I’m not sure what her age is. I’m assuming she was infertile if they didn’t make her a handmaid. Same with the “original pearl girl” whose name I can’t remember. She also looks young enough to be of child bearing age, but I’m assuming she’s infertile.

I am unsure of Vidala’s response to checking Hulda. It seems she might be jealous that Hulda got her period or maybe what I’m seeing is an emotionally sad reaction to someone who acts as young as Hulda being forced to grow up in a moment’s time. I read the testament, but I don’t remember it. I’ll need to reread.

The whole pearl girl thing is perplexing. I know what religious conversion looks like in a normal society but this isn’t just religious. Considering all of the Americans they killed for being impure in different ways, it’s surprising and sort of against common sense that they would add these unknown factors to their “clean” lines.

Just my rambling thoughts.

I watched all of handmaid’s Tale, but I’m curious if there are people watching Testaments who didn’t watch HMT? I’m wondering if it makes sense without the backstory of HMT.

I was a big handmaid‘s tale fan, though I didn’t love the final few seasons. I didn’t have much hope for the testament, but I’m actually loving it! I don’t think it’ll be award-winning bc I’m not sure it will hit the mainstream (not sure if people who didn’t watch handmaid’s will watch it). But, I think it’s really well done. It doesn’t feel rushed or forced. The script is good. I’m not feeling like it’s predictable. The young girls are all excellent in their roles. Spin offs are always risky. They are doing this one well.
