Has anyone done a single-port robotic nipple-sparing mastectomy?

I know this is fairly new, so probably not too many, but if you’ve undergone a mastectomy with this procedure, I would love to know your results, especially as far as sensation is concerned. Thank you in advance!

Sandition?

I’ve seen Sandition recommended several times when people have asked for a steamy period drama. I’d have to pay per episode and want to know if it lives up to the steamy hype before I hit pay. Thoughts? Steam level? TIA!

I Think ChatGPT is Messing With Me!

I really do! I use it to help me write posts for my website. I get very frustrated with it and I think it is purposely frustrating me to learn. I find myself getting angry and aggressive with ChatGPT for goodness sake! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I definitely don’t think we need to worry about AI taking over the world because it’s still pretty stupid. It can’t follow basic instructions, doesn’t problem solve well, and makes plenty of mistakes. My favorite was when I asked it to layout two 5 x 7 invitations on an 8 1/2 x 11 document and it told me it couldn’t because 7+7 is 14. I had to point out to ChatGPT that you could lay them side-by-side. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Where does Murtagh live?

I’ve watched all the shows and read all the books and I don’t recall there ever being a reference to where Murtagh lives. In the books, there are decent spans of time where Murtagh is not in the story however, they seem to be able to get him pretty easily when needed.

I’m confused about his lineage as well. In the show, Jamie says he’s a Fraser, and his name is Murtagh fitzgibbons Fraser. I don’t recall that being stated in the books. If I remember correctly from the books, Murtagh’s paternal uncle is married to Mrs. Fitzgibbons. In the show BOMB, he is Brian’s cousin. I just can’t remember how they say who he is in the Fraser family. Can’t say I have a perfect memory though.

Intense love stories not by Kleypas, Quinn, Dare, Hoyt or Coldbreath

I feel like anytime there’s a request for a recommendation these names (and a few others) dominate the list. Likely most of us have read them. These can’t be the only authors of intense, romance books. Intense love stories have been written for hundreds of years and some of the older ones were far spicier. What are some more incredible recommendations with more obscure authors or older books?

Anyone ever read:
Laurie McBain
Shirlee Busbee
Rebecca Brandewyne
Christine Monson
Jennifer Blake

Who else?

Question about the estates and castles in dramas

I love watching period dramas! I think I’m starting to recognize estates and castles being used in multiple movies/shows. Am I imagining this or do they all look similar? Are there specific estate/castles that are featured across many different period dramas? Where are they located? Are they available for tourists?

Should I watch Far From The Maddening Crowd?

I’m looking for something romantic and lusty. I see this Recommended frequently but I know nothing about it. It’s also not available anywhere for free and I have to pay per episode. Is it worth the spend?

Getting your home ready to sell and getting ready for home showings

One thing I notice a lot of sellers overlooking is the smell of their home. Smell has a very powerful effect on potential buyers. I have had buyers turn around and walk back out the door at showings simply because a smell was overwhelmingly disagreeable to them.

When listing your home, spring for a professional, deep clean.

Have your carpeting professionally cleaned! Professionally cleaning your carpet will improve the smell of your home and it also brings a new life to older carpeting.

Professional carpet cleaners can also deep clean upholstered furniture like couches as well as curtains. Don’t skip this!

All soft surfaces in your home hold smells – wash bedding, throw blankets and other similar items to make your home look and smell clean. Keeping an air purifier running in rooms where pets spend most of their time can help too. BUT REMOVE air purifiers during showings.

For extreme issues strongly consider replacing carpeting, painting the interior of the home and having air ducts cleaned.

New, interior paint can have multiple benefits. One, the smell of fresh paint has a psychological effect on home buyers indicating new. Two, if the home has lingering or stale odors, the smell of fresh paint will help to improve that. Three, painting home neutral colors helps buyers picture your home as theirs. Four, updating the paint colors in your home to a more modern or neutral color palette can help improve the whole look of your home making it look brighter, larger, and more up to date. Consult your Realtor for paint color suggestions.

If you have pets, assume your home smells like you have pets! We become nose-blind to the smells in our homes (and your friends are too polite to tell you so don’t bother asking).

To help reduce pet odors, store your pet’s food and litter in air-tight containers. While you are getting your home cleaned and ready to list, it’s a great opportunity to have your pets professionally groomed. If the home stays on the market for an extended period of time, bathe your pet regularly. Wash or replace pet beds.

For each home showing, not only should you remove your pets, but you should also remove all of their things (food/water bowls, cages and pet beds, pet toys). Not everyone loves animals. Some people have allergies. Out of sight, out of mind. Throw their items in your trunk and take it with you.

STRONG SMELLING (or any) PLUG-IN AIR FRESHENERS ARE NOT AN ANSWER TO ANY PROBLEM! DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL. If necessary, instead, use lightly scented reed diffuser set ups instead. They are more attractive and less strong. Also avoid leaving scented candles burning.

Pack away all knick-knacks, collections, and family heirlooms. I show a lot of property. At the end of the day my clients and I regroup and discuss what we saw. Do you want your home remembered as the one with the collection of X or would you prefer home buyers to notice and admire your tall ceilings, millwork, and custom closets? You want buyers looking at your home. You don’t want your stuff getting the attention.

Depersonalize your home - Remove family photos, awards, diplomas and trophies. You don't want them to see YOUR home, you want them to envision their OWN home. Your personal items can be very distracting to buyers.** **

Don't take offense, but remove religious and/or political items as well. Your home should appear religiously and politically neutral. Pack those items away to enjoy and display in your next home.

Don’t forget about closets as people will open the doors and look inside. Appearance is everything; how you’re living in your home will be how they imagine themselves living there. Overstuffed, disorganized closets bring about negative feelings and will make potential buyers think your home is lacking in proper storage.

Thin-out and organize your closets as much as possible by getting rid of things you don't wear and/or packing and storing away out of season items.

Consider getting matching hangers and sorting your clothing by type, length and color.

Anything that’s broken, damaged or in poor condition should be repaired or replaced. These items will most likely come up on the home inspection so it’s just easier to fix them now instead of waiting. Appliances that convey with the sale of the home need to be in working condition. Leaking faucets, missing knobs, broken door hardware, holes in walls, non-operating light fixtures or ceiling fans, etc should be repaired or replaced.

It may sound unnecessary but make sure light bulbs in each light fixture, match. Three yellow light bulbs and one bright white light bulb in a bathroom (or other) light fixture just looks bad. Ask your Realtor if you should consider changing all of the light bulbs in your home to give it a brighter, lighter feeling.

Plastic outlet covers, switch plates, vent covers, etc yellow with age and age the look of your home. These are often very inexpensive to change out for fresh, white ones.

FOR EACH SHOWING:
-Clean home completely.
-Vacuum lines into pile carpeting.
-Clean and dry kitchen sink.
-Clear counters of everything except minor decorative items in kitchen and bathrooms.
-Simplify kitchen and table decor.
-Wipe stainless steel appliances clear of fingerprints.
-Turn on ALL interior lights including closets, bathrooms and under cabinet lighting.
-Turn ceiling fans on low
-Open ALL windows coverings fully.
-Turn OFF all televisions and computer screens.
-Hide any visible wires (if possible).
Make all beds.
-Fluff and neatly arrange pillows on couches, chairs and beds.
-Remove ALL items from showers with glass doors (soap, shampoos, razors, etc).
-Put away all non-decorative towels and robes.
-Empty all garbage cans.
Garbage cans, cleaning supplies, toilet brushes, plungers, etc, should be put away and out of sight.
-Put hampers out of sight unless they are decorative. No dirty clothes should be visible.
-Close all toilet lids.
-Minimize bathroom decor.
-Remove any signs that you have a pet including pet food bowls, beds and litter boxes. Pet toys should be picked up and neatly stored out of sight. No one should be able to tell that a pet lives in the home.
-Washer and dryer should be visibly clean on the outside and no dirty laundry should be visible in laundry room. Put away laundry soap if possible.
-Remove all cars from driveway and garage if possible.
-Turn on pool and water features, if applicable.
-If you feel your home smells stale, you can simmer a pot on the stove with cinnamon, a halved orange, vanilla and water while you are getting ready for showings. It gives off a cinnamon bun smell. You can also use a crock pot and let it simmer all day long (unplug when you aren’t home). Who can be offended by cinnamon buns? REMOVE BEFORE SHOWING.
-Avoid cooking in the home once showings begin if possible. Now is a great time to grill outside or eat out. Strong smells, even from food, can easily turn off buyers.
-On your way out, ask Alexa to play spa music.
-Drop the air conditioning a few degrees cooler than you usually keep the home.
-LASTLY, avoid placing cameras around your home. It is very uncomfortable to feel you are being watched when you are looking at a home. I honestly notice my buyers spend MUCH less time in homes where cameras are noticeable. You want people to feel welcome and comfortable looking at THEIR POSSIBLE NEW HOME.

** Edited to add: I sell real estate in an area where many times I’m selling someone’s second home or vacation home but not always. What makes me know my primary home sellers are preparing their home correctly for a showing is when the showing agent asks me after if antibody is living there right now. If your spaces look like chaos, people will imagine their lives in chaos. If your home is neat, tidy and organized, even though the buyer might be a slob in their own life, they imagine that living in your home will make for a neat, tidy, and non-chaotic life.

My theory for a possible sequel

Big question? Will there be a sequel, spinoff or movie?

The storyline with Frances and the stone cracking in her hand (leading us to believe she can travel) was not necessary at all to the episode, season, or series, IMO. Why open this door at all when it added nothing to the story?

IMO, it leaves room open for a storyline where Francis returns to the past, possibly to save her parents and/or Jane. She’s a talented young actress.

I LOVE Agnes’s inner dialogue (possible book spoiler)

As I said in the title, I love Agnes’s thoughts being spoken to the audience. It follows how we heard many things from June in HT. Her thoughts are definitely added retrospectively as Agnes rethinks events, leading us to believe that one day she will know otherwise meaning she will get out. >!As in the book she, Lydia and Daisy/Jade/Nichole are each recounting their own experiences. Unless she leaves, Agnes would have no idea how her life differed from teens who were growing up outside of Gilead; she’d have no understanding of the “dance” with potential suitors being their only teenage experience. I love that the show lets us get to know so many more characters than the book. It really gives the full picture of daily life in Gilead for these young ladies who are to become the first generation of wives post the coupe!<

I just reread The Testaments…

If anyone has any questions about what happened in the book vs what’s going on in the show, ask away. I’ll be sure to use spoiler covers in my answers. If anyone wants to discuss the book, reply too but cover possible spoilers. I actually think the show is better than the book so far. The two don’t line up entirely. Some small and some BIG differences. IMO, the Handmaids Tale was a much better book. TT seems rushed and forced if that makes sense.

Why would he let them get the high ground?

>!With Frank’s book Jamie knew that the other side would have the advantage of the high ground and where they’d be coming from. Why wouldn’t he just station his militia up there to begin with to take away their advantage and attack as soon as they arrived when they wouldn’t have been prepared!<
