I've been playing Luxor and the way it plays on the 3DS makes me thing of the way paddle controller games play on touchscreens. For those unfamiliar Luxor is a game with colorful balls that move like the enemies in a tower defense game and then you have a thing at the bottom of the screen you use to shoot more colorful balls. Making colorful matches destroys the matching colors and gives you pints.

I was thinking you could use a paddle controller for it since all you do it move left and right and shoot. That got me thinking of anyone ever demaked that game for the 2600. Then I thought well you wouldn't have a button to swap the ball color but eh someone probably did it anyways. Well I couldn't find anything online so I'm typing this here.

Of all the alternative controllers to the normal one (fight sticks, flight sticks, trackballs, paddle controllers, etc) paddle controllers have been one of my favorites and im sad they died so early in gaming's life. With more powerful hardware and maybe a few more buttons we could have seen many more cool games but never.

You know that thing where the entire screen changes color and then there's like a text box in the center that asks you if you would like the app to activate or not? Yeah the mouse randomly stops moving when that thing is popped up and then I've noticed some other crashes cause the mouse to completely stop moving entirely.

I'm talking about when using a Steam Controller (either one not just a new one) whereas if I go grab my real mouse then I can obviously use that just fine. I thought this controller was made for TV play and I don't want to have to go get my real mouse just to do things. No holding down the steam button doesn't work but turning of and on the controller sometimes lets it move for half a second but it's only sometimes.

If anyone knows how to move the mouse with the Steam Controller in these situations let me know.

I noticed that both steam controllers seem to be missing some stuff like the new Steam Controller doesn't have settings to change the sounds that the controller makes whereas the original Steam controller does. The original Steam Controller can also wake up the steam deck when using the " " instead of Bluetooth.

However as you can tell the " " That came with the Steam Controller (that kind of looks like a thumb drive with a valve logo on it) doesn't have a name whereas Bluetooth, USB, and Steam Controller Puck all have a name in the settings. I also don't see a way to pair to it if for some reason your controller gets unpaired.

I wonder if that "Force update all connected controllers" button can give you Bluetooth if you have an unupdated original Steam Controller? I don't have one unuldated to test sadly.

Also for those wondering I couldn't find a way to pair one controller with the others wireless receiver (dongle or puck). It doesn't even have instructions for pairing the OG controller like it does the new one.

The OG Steam controller came with a USB micro B to USB A dock like thing that had the A port sticking straight up. You didn't have to use it and infact I sold mine on eBay (surprised someone bought it) but it seems this time around you are forced to extend the puck because you can't plug it directly into a USB port. It also means you can just use a USB C to C cable if you need to which you are more likely to have vs a USB A to C adapter. I actually have A to C adapters (and A to micro B) but I don't have any C to A adapters (or micro B to A).

If you have noticed anything one controller has the other doesn't post it below. I'm curious what I'm missing. Also we are looking for interest difference and not the obvious "one has 2 joysticks the other doesn't" stuff.

How would you feel if Valve announced the Steam Machine and said it wasn't going to be sold without a controller specifically so that they could use every single controller they have to satisfy the reservation queue?

I know some people are wanting to get a machine with a controller just as a loophole so they can get 2 (or 3 if they got the first batch) controllers.

My other idea that was less funny/interest/idk was what if Valve still sold the Machine with the controller but 2 things. 1. If you already have a controller you can only reserve it without the controller and 2. If you don't have a controller it cancels your reservation for the controller if you reserve the bundle.

I've been ignoring them untill today and there was like 8 of them at least. Plus if you count the number of actual tabs I had open then you get like 11 windows open. I don't remember having any problem like this on Windows (yes I used Firefox on Windows).

It's been working even since I hacked my DSi months ago (idk when) but today when I try to open up the Twilight menu it just goes to a black screen and stays there.

I was actually in the middle of playing a game when I got dropped off at my house. The screen was set to a higher brightness then I needed inside so I saved my game and went to the settings menu to change it. When I left the settings menu I held down the A button to enter the Twilight menu and that's when the black screen happend. I can access the regular DSi home menu but holding down A just does a black screen.

I have not tried anything but turning it off and on and loading up Four Swords just to see if I can play the pre installed games which yes I can.
