It's not unpopular, it's just old.

Keep seeing "Why is X anime not talked about/unpopular?" when talking about older anime.

Maybe it's just an issue with new members of the community. But as an older fan, while I'm glad they get attention still, it's annoys me for some reason.

Sure they are not popular now, but they were. And it's ok. We have a lot more to watch compared to the past and it's easier to access legitimately.

But if it's a pre-streaming era anime, please don't call it unpopular. It most likely was in it's time.

But by all means keep talking about older shows and sharing them.

Would you fake joining the mormons for language lessons?

I don't plan on doing it. But, I keep getting ads on Instagram by them advertising language lessons.

I'm almost desperate enough but would feel bad taking advantage of it. Lol

Crow struck me in the head. Unclear why.

I live in Japan. Sometimes I walk and eat and they will do a fly by but I just don't react. Will give a bit if they come up to me nicely.

But I was walking home just from the supermarket and a crow slammed me right on the top of my head.

I had eaten just prior. Could they smell it? Could they have not liked my black ball cap?

Edit: went by again going to work and there were two. no hit this time but still swooped me. probably a nest near? Will pay tribute/toll next time.

LN haul + a few manga - Real Bout Highschool Read the manga back in middle school and HS. Glad to have it again and excited to get into the LNfor the first time.

u/SnooOwls3528 — 8 days ago

Finally got my first manga again - Real Bout Highschool + the main LN series.

Bought from BookOff. Original got them in English when I was in middle school.

Not that it matters, but surprised to find they are all first prints. Never read the LN but am excited to. All but two LN are first prints too.

There are two more LN side series that I plan to get later

Even if there is no season 2 (but I hope their is), I'm very happy with how it ended.

It was very sweet and left things on a positive trajectory.

Nakamura is happy and more comfortable with Hirose. It's pretty clear Hirose is not in to women.

I personally don't mind the open-ended ending.

Why are the top and bottom half yellowing at such different rates and the inside unchanged?

Bought it used and curious as to why it's happened in such a way. Is it sun related? Book is 8 years old

Is it obvious when an author is not a normal user of a direct (弁)?

I'd imagine most get help from editors or people more familiar. But how hard is it to capture the right speech pattern for them to sound authentic?

さみしさの音がする[J'entends le son de la solitude] (To hear the sound of loneliness)

What a lovely story of breaking from social and family expectations and it never being too late to find true love.

I highly recommend it.

Mini haul. Dandadan 24, Chainsaw man 24, ASANO INIO Short Stories: Bakemono Recchan / Kinoko Takenoko (Big Comics)

The collection is very worn but not bad for used.

I know it's divisive, but I'm pretty happy with Chainsaw man.

Total didn't know the new Dandadan even came out today. Nice surprise.

ASANO INIO Short Stories: Bakemono Recchan / Kinoko Takenoko (Big Comics)

Very worn. Clearly the previous owner read it a lot

Hopefully I can find the other two collections.

Couldn't find the last Chainsaw man vol today so I picked up these instead.

I can hear the sound of loneliness(さみしさの音がする) and The Summer Hikaru died 9.

Some light reading during lunch.

Picked it up today. Was a little disappointed I didn't get the little cardboard cutout of Yoshiki that I saw at another book store while looking for the last Chainsaw man vol.

What's a manga/anime that has a problematic Creator that you morn the loss of?

I personally am disappointed the author of "the counselor through the years and stars" turned out to be the same person that wrote Act-age. They used a pen name to try and avoid the controversy.

It was such a great concept but was also canceled. Isekai where the main character is a psychiatrist who helps the heros deal with the trauma they suffer from savings the world.

What anime/manga is this for you?

Solanin - Big Comic Special 1st print

Little beat up but still happy to find.

Any good methods to remove some scuff marks?

Small pick up before I went to work today.

Top: Akari, Terrarium in Drawer

Bottom: Scenes from Awajima

Was super excited to see Terrarium. The other just had eye catching covers but looked interesting after a flip through.

[No Spoilers] Are party members allowed to watch each others episodes?

Given the groups are separated, are the party members not allowed or choose not to watch each others episodes so they don't know information they should not know?

Is there a reason specific date's are given?

A lot of manga usually give vague dates or use a unique system. Especially if in a setting that is not within our own world. Are the dates in the story meant to reference real world events or to construct a very detailed timeline of events?
