Samsung TV plus dns issues?

On my Samsung smart TV, when I'm using the Samsung TV plus service, when tuning to a Samsung TV plus channel, it says it can not connect to the server. This happens only when I'm using public dns like Quad9,Cloudflare, or Google dns. When I'm using my isp dns, it connects perfectly? What would cause this? No other device has any problem whatsoever connecting to any dns I use.

Turning on ipv6 on Calix router

When I had my Calix router installed 2 years ago, my isp didn't enable iPv6. They do offer iPv6 service. I have a Calix GS4220E router. The isp already has iPv6 enabled on the WAN. To enable iPv6 under the iPv6 LAN settings on the router web interface does both the RA service and DHCPv6 service need to be set to the server mode, or should I leave the DHCPv6 service in the disabled mode. Also, should the DHCPV6 Mode be set to both, stateless or stateful? What do you isp's here set your customers to?

ISP has lousy iPv6

My isp has a lousy iPv6, but its iPv4 is good. The ping of any website is a lot higher on iPv6. For example, the ping of a particular website may average 13 msec on iPv4, whereas on ipV6, it would average about 80msec, sometimes going over 200msec on some pings. I live in a rural area, so I have no other choices. Having said that, would I be better off using only iPv4 since my isp's iPv6 is not good? I've tried different dns with the same results.

Google play system updates?

How much longer will the Galaxy S21 likely receive monthly Google play system updates? I know it no longer gets Samsung security updates, but the Google Play System updates do increase security somewhat.

Does upgrading Verizon towers to 5Guw improve lte speeds?

I'm currently on an lte only tower that may get upgraded soon. Does an upgrade to 5Guw usually improve lte speeds on a tower after a 5Guw upgrade is done? My local tower is only a B13 and B66 lte but does average around 50meg download speed and have saw as high as 150 meg during non peek times and have a few phones on my plan that isn't 5G capable.

Cloudflare or Cloudflare for families?

I know Cloudflare has malware blocking dns 1.1.1.2 and 1.1.1.3.. Is it a good idea to use 1.1.1.2 or 1.1.1.3 instead of 1.1.1.1 for a little extra protection, or does it cause some issues? If not, are there any reasons not to use cloudflare for families over regular 1.1.1.1?

DirecTV app issues with dns 9.9.9.9

I am using 9.9.9.9 Quad9 dns on my home router. I noticed on my DirecTV app that the icons on the DirecTV guide don't load. If I change the dns on the router to 9.9.9.11, the icons appear as normal. Also, if I use cloudflare, it loads normally. Does this make sense?

Repairing cell tower with nests?

I have a friend who lives near the lake who had a tower outage last summer. He called Verizon, and they confirmed they had a tower outage. After several days, it still wasn't fixed, back, and he called and was told by them that they couldn't repair it then because of an active nest on the tower and because they aren't allowed legally to disturb the nest, which is absolutely true. They compensated him with some discounts. It was repaired in about 2 months. Are Hawks also protected by this law? I know eagles and Ospreys are, but I'm curious how many other species are protected by this law.

Quad9 blocks images?

Quad9 blocking images on DirecTV app?

I'm having an issue with Quad9 blocking images on the DirecTV app on the guide when using Quad9 on both roku and android phones? Is anyone else seeing this? There are no issues when I change the dns to cloudflare or Google dns or even cloudflare for families. Why would it block images? I'm using Quad9 on my router.

Process of upgrading Verizon tower to 5Guw upgrade?

My local lte only rural tower was in and out a few weeks ago. It was running very slow and then was completely off for about a day before it came back on. I contacted Verizon via chat online. I was told the tower was in the process of doing a C band upgrade. It was having issues for a few days, but it’s been back working normally since then. There has absolutely been no change in the antennas on the tower. It’s got the same antennas that it’s had for many years with definitely no c band panels or any other new antenna array on the Verizon tower. I know a C-band upgrade takes months, but would they have to had the tower offline with changing out the antenna if they were in the process of doing a C band upgrade? Do you think I was likely given the right information? Right now it’s performing the same as before the outage, averaging about 60 meg download with still only B13 and B66. Would you believe the outage was part of a C band upgrade or likely just a tower issue that was fixed?

Turning off ipV6 on router?

Turning off iPv6?

I have a Calix GS4220E router and am also using another GS4220E router as a mesh unit supplied by my isp. For whatever reason, I believe my isp has a lousy ipv6 because if I ping a particular website, the ping is much higher on ipv6 than on ipv4. My question is if I disable the RA service and have the DHCPv6 service also disabled, will that be the same as having ipv6 turned off and using only IPv4? I know ipv6 is still on the WAN, but that is controlled by my isp. Is it really necessary to have my isp turn off ipv6 at their WAN when I can disable the RA service under the ipv6 LAN settings? My ipv4 works perfectly.

Average Verizon LTE speed tests?

For those of you on Verizon and are on a tower with only lte, what is your speed? My local tower is only a lte tower with only B13 and B66. Hopefully, it will get upgraded before too long. This is about my average, which is very usable. I have seen as high as 150 meg download in non peak times.

DirecTV monthly cost for Genie and Genie Minis

DirecTV monthly price for Genie and Genie Mini’s

As a long time DirecTV satellite subscriber, I got an offer for a free upgrade for a Genie and Genie Minis and free installation by a technician. My question is, besides the entertainment package, which I already subscribed to, what would the extra cost be? Right now I’m paying a $10 HD access fee plus $7 a month for an extra receiver. How much more monthly cost would a Genie system be?

CommandIQ app settings?

My isp provides the CommandIQ app for Calix routers for no additional cost. Is it a good idea to turn on the intrusion settings the ips protocol anomaly and ips port-scan-defense on, or could it cause issues? What do you isp's here recommend for your customers as far as its settings to enable them or not?

dns and DoH and DoT?

I‘ve noticed that my isp dns doesn’t have DoH or DoT whereas all public dns like Cloudflare, Google dns, and Quad9 have DoH or DoT. Is this a big deal? I am already using Cloudflare for familes(1.1.1.2) but am just curious if it could put you at a privacy risk?

Using a Galaxy S21 in 2026?

Since the Galaxy S21 no longer receives security updates , is it at a big security risk to still use. My S21 still performs pretty well, and I would rather not upgrade unless it's really necessary. It still receives Google Play system updates. Is that enough?
