I've been seeing a lot of Vegan Muslims lately what are your opinions on them?

Tittle. But I wanted to know about how hajj can require sacrifices and Eid ul adha obviously. What do we think?

Ex muslims against Islam in this sub and zina policing muslims need to go. Sorry this isn't a place for you. You have your own place.

I'm sorry but the amount of Ex muslims I see here coming time to time to shit on Islam and muslims is crazy. They further more push stuff like Wahabis do. Like they'll seriously argue that Islam allows this and that. Whatever. My problem is that they have their own zionist, anti muslim sub so why shit here. What are THEY doing HERE? If they had kept their mouths shut i wouldn't care. But my problem is that they'll genuinely shit about islam here. Not even debates. Just straight up non intellectual larping and harassment. Even from a secular perspective if they wanna shit on Islam they have theit own places. LITREALLY all of the lgbt side of muslim majority counties hate muslims and lgbt muslims in general. They have so many spaces to denounce whatever they want to. Why here? This isn't a secular place where a anti islamic person can talk here. We muslim lgbts have nothing much and only one sub. So why larp here. Go to r/exmuslim and you'll see how they bully lgbt muslims there. Why just fucking why do you come to a place where islam is celebrated? Why? Go to your places where it's not. This is an Islamic place. Not a random place. This also isn't a place to debate. r/progressive_islam is for that. We're hete to share our experiences. You can't get away with the whole Islam is misogynistic, homophobic or whatever you wanna say. Because Ironically you're just pushing the narratives the extremists say. You're helping them. But overall this place is to review islam through queer lense. Not denounce it entirely. Why would you come here when you have places to do so? And when these people are saying shit about Islam why are we even being okay with it? Again if you're an exmuslim do whatever. But don't come here shitting on Islam like those in r/gaybros

Also for zina police muslims. Please leave. You also have your own sub reddit. This isn't a place to takfir as shown on the reddit rules. Every blue moon I see somebody here making complaints about zina and stuff. Like no. Most of us believe in marriage of same sex. Other subs feel like therapy subs to me. So please if you're looking for that go there. But don't come here saying being is complete haram. Again this is a place for all muslim lgbt. So have some basic emohathy for muslims. Every now and then there some homophobic muslim guy comes to t harass lgbt muslims. Please no. Get out.

For the Quran only muslims

Recently I have been deconstructing hadith. Currently I reject all hadith that contradicts the Qur'an, but some of these quranist arguments are sounding convincing, especially since allah explicitly says in 7:185, so what hadith will they belive after this? (the quran). However, can any quran only muslims respond to these questions she mentions in the video??

Wildest stuff I heard from my long distance desi aunt about consent in marriage . 😭😭

I thought I heard it all. But there was more to come. I thought I had seen it all but I was SHOCKED when I overheard my aunt talking to another aunt of mine about marriages. It's not the cute kind btw.

Okay so for context I was minding my business then something came over me so I went there and I sat down away from them. I was eating some snacks whatever. I greeted her yk. Salam and a little chit chat. I wanted to leave. She was talking to a random village lady about something idk. So this is where it gets weird. The village lady brought up marriage for her(the village lady's daughter ). Dw it's not that bad. The village lady's girl was old. But still didn't have a job. So my aunt was like "get her married. It's obligatory. Women need to be wed off before they cam get much older." I was SHOCKED. 😭 like bro let her get a job. Either way some of my other aunt (more educated) did speak up and say they self reliance is more important blah blah. So that calmed me down. But then thus women said something so wild it made me go insane😭 she said 'oh it's important to get the girl married or they grow up and deny to get married. They'll grow up more biased. So we have to get them married before getting old.' Okay. So this lady just self sabotaged and she just admitted that these people just want to control women's life by conditioning these women where no is not an option? I feel sick.

I just can't with this. Where does in the quran say to systemtically force people into saying yes to marriage. It gives a choice. This can't be the same Islam Allah gave. This is cultism. I didn't say mich and knowing the village lady I hope she won't marry of her kid. But where are they getting this from?

Personal issue . I'm scared and feel lost. It's not even funny anymore.😔

Salam and I really wanna cry now. I'm not joking I really do. I never throught I'd be here getting emotional in reddit out of all places. I don't even know what to say or do. Nothing makes sense. What I'm writing now is from raw emotion. So sorry if it sounds weird. Sorry if this sounds like a random vent with no proper body text. Because it is.

I feel ashamed to admit anything. Anything at all. I knew I was queer since I was 12. Yes. THAT young. I knew it. I really liked a girl in my life and then as things went by I went over her. I thought that was it. A random phase. But I still realised I was queer. It didn't matter because back then I was an edgy teen atheist. I'm not here to shame atheists don't get me wrong. I'm just saying I never theologically knew about Islam instead I just became one out of my teen rebellion. Either way when I DID come back to know about other religions I knew about Islam. It didn't seemed to be as bad anymore. I still was and still am critical as I don't blindly follow anything. But still I held onto my queer identity. I tried my absolute best to know about Islam and lgbt. I'm still doing it. But I feel numb at this point. The queer spaces I see are filled to the brim with anti-atheists (obviously) and they are nasty about you and everything. They try to debunk everything you have to follow. It's so annoying. I already made a post about this. Either way I have so much pain holding onto Islam and lgbt at the same time because of how majority muslim people are homophobic and how literally when you unwillingly surround yourself with people who shadow bully you for your faith it's hard to hold on.

I'm trying my best to learn. But I'm still ypung for my age and I still have other things to do. My life feels like hell now. I can't focus on anything.

Interested. But if hadits were fabricated/cherry picked because they were compliled then how is the Quran authentic?

Salam Guys. Please be nice to me. I'm a revert I still have many more things to learn and everything and I'm aware of my narrow knowledge. So be nice ok?

So I see this thrown around everywhere that a small chunk of hadit deniers say stuff like how the hadiths have been written long after Mohammad's death and how it's inaccurate to beleive in such since there's a chance that those writers were biased could've fabricated things. Now yes this is a cherry picked sentence from a deep and long theology you see. But I still was curious. Or am I getting it wrong? Could it be that the main rejection of hadits are since it contradicts quran? But in that case we have agree that the quran which too was compliled is accurate then what exactly would make hadiths which were also compliled inaccurate?

Can someone please answer this for me?

Respectfully I feel like some cultures have to give up more because of Islam.

Yes we can agree and disagaree with in many things on which is Islamic and which is unislamic. Your choice. But we can't deny that there are groups who come from both sides. No I'm not going to demoize every parts of islam. But there are certain sects which are regressive. What I mean to say is the mainstream side is sadly regressive (tho it's turning progessive at times). What I mean by 'asking too much' is how those regressive parts of Islam ask you to follow certain rules which literally takes away one's identity on who they are. Culturally too. Many of these exist within mainstream islam

  1. You can't get tattoos. Which is significant for many ancient civilizations and with many culture. Like Maori culture. You can't expect a person to follow a version of Islam that literally colides with their culture. People have to drop tattooes for Islam whether you like it or not it's leaning to cultural genocide.

  2. Can't show hair within super regressive sects. Again in many culture hair is everything. Mourning, femininity, masculinity. Hair for women within indeginous culture is everything.

  3. Modesty. For majority muslims modesty is a simple thing. It's just as close to home. Most muslims (Apart from south asians and South east asians) already followed a religion that required modesty also modesty was a part of their culture. As they live in dusty places and their ancestors wore cloths which are modest by Islamic standard they don't have to do the hard work to let go their traditional clothing to adopt another cultures cloths. Whether you find it distasteful or not within many tribes around the word showing stomach, back and even breasts is cultural. This can't really go along with those Islamic values. Some have entirety change their cloths to fit in. That's partially cultural genocide.

  4. Food. Oh my god. I don't even know how to explain this when this is the MOST obvious thing ever. But no. Not every person can afford nor care about halal food if these are people living in the forests and deserts. Yes you can say it's our duty to help them. But still food is about familiarity. Most people who eat these also have to do certain rituals and certain foods mean a lot for them.

  5. Language. Let's not deny that Islam doesn't change one's language. Many languages get changed because it has many pre islamic words or context within them. Some other words are adopted. Which mostly are arabic or other Languages that are considered islamic. Is it not imperialism?

That's a FRACTION of what I said. There is more to it. Now a few things I'd like to say clearly.

  1. No. I don't think Islam is completely cultural genocidal. As it has shows sign of mixxing. Even apart from mixxing culture I'd argue that's how cultures are. Even indigenous and ancient cultures in remote places aren't the same as 10,000 years ago. Culture changes. Adopts.

  2. I'm aware that's just how religions are. Religions are tied to places and it's culture from which it came from. Islam came from the middle east where these already were a thing in comparably was easier to cooperate in life. Same way other religions forbide you from doing certain things which can be again considered as cultural genocide for somebody else. But that's how religions are. You follow something that gives you a set of rules. It's like me saying oh look haha I follow a.. Lets per say a vegetarian religion and look I can't eat meat so it's cultural genocide. Like that's the point! I agree and know what you mean. Like people can still choose to just.. not follow religions that they don't feel like is best for them. But let's be real most muslims... Don't choose islam. It's something they are born into. 🫠

  3. My point is islam isn't the same for all. Some simply have to give up more. Mainatream Islam is more relient to arab or middle eastern ideologies. "B-but I'm just telling you to be modest and this and that. Arabs don't own modesty😢" see the problem isn't that other cultures can't be modest or different without being arabised but the problem is that some cultures genuinely are genuinely immodest from what mainstream islam considers to be modest. You fail to reconize what I meant to say atp. I mean to say is that no matter what arab culture because of these wahabis are worshiped like god. And it's not as easy for a person from a culture so different to adopt islam. And for a religion that calls itself so 'universal'.. Is it really? Idk no religion seems to be like that.

My point is you have to realise for some they have to give up more culture than others. Whether it's worth it or not is different but let's not deny that you gotta give up a lot.

PS: No. This isn't an Anti arab post yall I love yall. 😭 I just don't like how some yse yall as a shield and use your culture to make other muslims feel invalid.

Is a Non-Kemtic Egyptian wearing an Ankh, Eyes of horus or any other religious symbol permitable? Or is it spiritual appropriation?

Hello. For context I'm not kemetic or Egyptian. But I still wanted to talk about this as I see this pop up.

Tittle is self explanatory. But despite not being Kemetic many Egyptians specifically Muslims wear Ankhs or Eyes of horus sometimes. Some do it as a form of cultural practice and some do it as a genuine believe that it will save them. Technically like how the 🧿 is used. Some mix the practice it with their current religion. Now I'm not going to shame anybody for taking in both. If they are respectfull I think it's ok and beautiful. Pushing aside trauma caused by other monothiestic religions I feel like it's distasteful to shame them now. After all making fun of people mixing their culture or religion isn't going to do much. Since I feel like Kemetism is an open practiced religion. It beats the whole point. But my problem is that people nit pick kemstism or ancient Egypt. The glowing stone tablets, the temples, the aesthetic, the ankh, the eyes of horous are claimed. But whenever someone wants to believe or claim the religion entirely then it's not. It's nit picking. Most of the kemetic religious sites and temples are used as tourist spots. For entertainment ans whenever Kemetics do go there. They are shamed. Made fun off. Not let to pray. Imagine if churchs, mousques are used like that. The utter disrespect. Even if we forget and forgive the mistreatment of Kemeticism in the past it's still happening now. Nobody is calling it out. The Egyptians make fun of non Egyptians for following Kemetism as if they don't follow a foreign religion themselves. It's annoying. Look from a secular point of view I feel like shaming them for this is a bit insane because mixxed people exist. You can't put away your ancient religion this easily. It will exist. Since it was once yours you can embrace it. But when someone does it to a level that bothers you. That's a problem. You can't love the religion , culture and then hate the people. Now i sound too strict I know... But I just can't come in terms with this. Maybe because I'm spiritual so I guess I feel angry and guilty when I see other religionus people do it but I idk.. I'm aware that people have good intentions because larping can be somebody's first gateway to Kametism. So I wanna say don't do it after all most people convert to religions by larping. So I don't wanna demonize it but when you larp while doing harm to active followers then it's insane. Most of them don't even larp spiritully. It's just fashion. I mean it. They don't wanna blend their coptic Christianity or islamic roots with Kemetism (which hey since im agnostic sounds pretty rad and seems genuine to both sides afterall you can't just strip them away from their current religion and it would be little selfish to do so). Like you understand me? I know this isn't a secular place but a kemetic group. Tho hey even if they wanna mix their religions..? Honestly their choice. Cause even then they are still interacting and showing genuine support if they truly see Kemetism as a true religion. But that's the problem! They don't. It's just fashion to them.

So what's your opinion? 🤔🤔

Want to know controversal/lesser known islamic traditions out of mainstream Islam as a revert. Help me. [Read body]

Salam everyone. Hey what's up?

I don't wanna waste your time too much. I really want to go back to Islam. I was mainly born in a sunni hanafi sect household tho my brother ate ao much red pill content at some point I was so tired of him 😭 either way I still am a muslim. Tho I really have been curious about other sects or regional traditions. Within urbanization mainstream islam is becoming a monolith. Tho I do agree it's not one sided as progressive islam is also spreading. Either way I wanted to learn about the lesser known practices between muslims. Yes even after so much trauma if respectfull wahabis are also allowed to tell me about their lesser known or controversal theories. Ahmediyas, Alevis, Sufis are also allowed. Tho I will take your opinions or deny it for me depending on my views.

Many controversal practices like whorshiping dancing or twirling for that matter, singing and every thing yk? I'm telling you to this because I genuinely feel so tired to learn Islam through books ans I have ADHD so learing in fun and small steps can be easy.😭 please don't judge.

Vent about Wahabism. Politics and Islam. People NOW realise how annoying Wahabism/Salafism is. Small rant.

No I'm not ready to hear whatever Wahabis contributed to Islam. This is a valid critique of them.

Apart from making Islam almost painfull for other muslims, causing mass terrorism, making islam regressive just LOOK at what these Wahabis have to say for Iran. They aren't even criticising the controversal islamic regime! They just hate shias, sufis and literally any non salafis and they cry ahen you call them out. The UAE and Saudi getting with the US is least surprising to me. Look at what these have to say for Palestine. These major wahabis now are okay with the US. I just can't anymore. I'm sick to stomach and wish to write no longer. This is a fraction of the damage they caused to islam and muslims. Of course I'll not act as if many shias or other sects aren't regressive. Please I'm not a hypocrite. But the least ones to get called out while doing more harm are these people. So many sects cleansed, made fun off. I just can't. I have to taste to write more.

Why does a self-proclaimed islmaic thread have the audacity to comment on bangladesh's politics and ignore what Pakistan did. Read body first.

I never thought I need to make a post about this. But after the video about Mohammad hijab with a guy denying bengali genocide I saw a pattern. A sad patten. Many of these slef procliamed "পাক্কা মুসলিম" aka wahabi/salafi people are like this. Ugly Truth I know. But there is no denying that these muslim lounges or Islamic platforms (specifically the smaller ones) will for some reason deny what Pakistan did. They'll lie, bargin and play victim card as always. Because that's what they are. Crazy blinded devotees. To them anything muslims do is good. Judging them isn't important at all and hence the creation of Pakistan (literally in their eyes is islamic) is so whitewished by them. They'll whitewash Pakistan because to them Pakistan = south asian Islamic country = Islam. So they feel insecure whenever Pakistan is mentioned. Either way I don't need to say much on how Pakistan is still denying everything yet many Bangladeshis lick their boots. I don't. It's obvious. But what really fascinates me is the ummahood. The fact this is coming from other muslims. Muslims killed by other muslims is denyed or whitewashed. The point is that we in the past saw this. The rajkars called themselves real muslims and supported Pakistan. The West Pakistani Muslim called an East Pakistani 'Hinduani'. Which is disgusting in so many levels. Why would you make fun or abuse the Hindu identity as a slur? And why would you tie East Pakistani culture (Bangla language, Saree, Lungi, Dhoti) to a religion they don't identify as? This always existed. There always were blinded muslims supporting this. Now I know what some will comment. B-But what about blinded hindus and India? 😢😢😢 Yes! You're right. I've seen many hindus do that. I've seen when BJP won there. That should also be called out! I'm happy to call it out. But you're doing whataboutism again. Both are bad. But let's not downplay this. Let's not downplay how blinded muslims were and still are within their muslim brotherhood licking Poisonstan. What hurts me more is that they do this withisn the veils of islamic platforms trying to soft launch that loving Pakistan and downplaying Bangladesh (90% muslim majority btw) is islamic. In which way???

Before I end please understand that I made it clear that self proclaimed muslims are doing this. I would NEVER tie THIS to Islam ans Muslim. Because then I'll give into **their** idea that this is Islamic hence if you don't support this then your a Muslimphobe. I don't agree with that. Many of the people who were against this were muslims. Many of the martyrs were muslims. The victims too. So I'll not be confirming to their idea that this is Islam. Islam doesn't allow people to just kill or discriminate. I'll not downplay muslim freedom fighters.

But it hurts to sees >>>some<<< muslims do this within the veil of islam.

Do you ever feel like Polyathiestim is misjudged or misunderstood? Or people are just too rude to polyathiests?

I'm agnostic so this is a question I see all the time and I also had this same question. Whenever people talk about Polyathiestism it's mainly just bullying. Nobody really tries to understand the complexity of Polyathiestism. As I try to learn about different religions I also see how people judge Polyathiest religions based of their previous biasedness. It's less about how this certain Polyathiest religions function and more about the how close these religions are to their monoethiestic religions. They don't judge the religion completely unbiased. They infact judge it through their monoethiestic views. These are judged less by resources and logic and more by 'my monoathiestic religion said so'. On top of that most religions people are monoethiestic so them bullying and pushing narratives is seen more. Monoethiests don't agree with eatchother and think others will burn in hell in worst case senerios but then they'll push every bit of their differences away and be united against polyathiestism. They say "it just doesn't make sense!" But their idea of sense is only biased to their religion. They are not trying to find polyathiest religions that make sense to them rather it's more like "it's just not close to my religion". The theologies that Polytheiests believe are reasonable to me. I might not belive in anything but I still understand what they are saying. Well your experience?

Mainstream LGBTIQIA is more entertainment and slective than activism and it's NOT help us lgbt muslims in 99% of the time. Small Rant.

Salam and I'll get into this immediately. Many mainstream queer places are just straight up shit. In reddit you or r/gaybros and r/gayconservatives which at first is just haha and hehe. But then keep in mind that these people are real life people ready to come after you. Keep in mind that these people will vote for a politician who will make your life HELL. Seriously HELL. These people are anti feminism, white supremicist, anti muslims (and any religion), anti trans and so on! These people are so annoying. That was the far right pipeline. But the movies, series you see online are just frustrating! I mean don't get me wrong! I love them. But most of them have an audience who are homophobic but just like to Jack it off to queer people. They do nothing to support queer people irl. These movies too have an acceptable version of queer people. They keep it safe. Not to be too 'problematic'. They have turned the queer identity to a form of entertainment. Which honestly? I like it. Helps me put my head off my hyper homophobic home. But queer people should alse be used in movies to create awareness. But when was the last time you saw a movie that wasn't a form of queer entertainment made by straight people that FOR straight people that includes white skinny gay atheist twinks. When was the last time? huh? And whenever they do have the balls to show em they back off! Bc they are too scared! Oh my goddd. The lgbtqia side always goes over us and the Orthodox Muslim side tries to make fun of us. They are so selective and it rarely helps us. This is annoying!
