Have any of you had sound experiences over sighting experiences?

I remember a few years ago when I heard loud thumping multiple times in my backyard (not like what a woodpecker does, I've heard those before, it was like hitting something 3 times repeatedly spaced out). I was wondering if those encounters were anymore or less common than direct sightings

"It's basic biology" (nsfw for anatomical discussion)

This statement is honestly one that I find hilarious for two reasons.

  1. It's often used as an argument against trans people, saying that two genders is basic biology. This is funny because, if you actually look into it, gender ≠ sex, and there are a lot more than two sexes in just humans. Sure, there may be x and y chromosomes, but there are at least fourteen different combinations of those two, and plenty of weird genitalia related things. Do those people suddenly not exist anymore? And gender isn't sex. Sex is genitalia and chromosomes (male/female/intersex/other variations). Gender is a social construct that might have basic associations with different sexes, but is a lot more complex than just boy=male and girl=female. Also plenty of other species have more than two sexes and genders.
  2. The other reason I find it hilarious is because a good amount of the people who say "it's basic biology" and "science doesn't care about your feelings" are (atleast in my experience) ultra religious conservatives who think the earth was made 6000 years ago and animals were spoken into existence. Evolution is actually even more "basic biology" than sex, but they insist on denying it's existence because of a 3000 year old story book.

This was just me making fun of a dumb phrase used by uninformed people to push a discriminatory agenda, I'm open to discussion in the comments. Have a nice day!

Losing weight in abdomen?

How do I lose weight in my abdominal area (tummy)? I've been trying exercises that target the core for a few months but haven't noticed progress. I'm pretty happy with the rest of my body (except for hair) and would like to just look better in general. Any advice is appreciated!

The Endangered Species Act

https://c.org/M5Sj7GvpJF

Recently, the Trump administration made changes to the Endangered Species Act that pose an inevitable threat to many, if not all of the endangered species within the United States, rewriting the definition that restored the nation's most recognizable symbol, the bald eagle, to a stable population. I looked for an existing petition to sign, and when I couldn't find one I made my own. Please sign to do your part in protecting nature and our planet.
