anyone worried about the new USPS times that started Oct 1?

i got an email from Pirate Ship saying that shipping to non-contiguous states will be 10+ days of shipping and ground advantage under 1 lb will mostly travel by surface (im guessing is slower than air).

i already had a “may be late” on 2 packages that were shipping to alaska and south dakota from ny when i was shipping it out 3 days before my processing time. do you think etsy will adjust for this? theres going to be a lot of angry customers especially with the holiday season

what do you always have on hand in your pantry? also bonus points for best ideas/recipes for that item!

for me, i like to ALWAYS have these things on hand. i hate having to add it to my grocery list because i use them so often so i will buy them even if i plan not to use them soon

all varieties of tomato products (diced, whole peeled san marzano, crushed, tomato paste, and 8 oz sauce)- my most used type of item for sauces, soup, chili

red and white wine- elevates the flavor on EVERYTHING! soups, stews, chicken, beef

canned beans (chickpea, pinto, black, cannellini, and kidney)- soups, dense bean salads, chili

canned chili in adobo- for anything mexican, brings soo much flavor

dried lentils- never know when you want lentil soup!

advice for smelling good throughout day without showering

im new to lush and don’t shower in the morning, only at night. i tried the big body spray (which is the only one i liked) and i feel like its giving me tension headaches so im probably going to return. all of them either smelled bad or the scents i liked smelled too much like powder

i want to smell good for a majority of the day. any tips?? im open to perfume because i feel like theyre not as strong as the body spray. also open to lotions, massage bars, or anything else
is using a massage bar bad during the day or is it only at night?

scents i like: sleepy, honey i washed the kids, coconut drench, sex bomb (but not the body spray- smelled like straight baby powder to me)

scents i don’t like: sticky dates, dirty, rose jam

negative effects when starting?

ive been using my hooga pro300 on my abdomen every other day for the last week for 5 min. i have a bunch of issues (chronic fatigue, chronic pain, gastritis) and 3 days after starting, i got my period early on day 26. This is very odd because I always get it on at least day 28. Also it’s now day 6 of my period and I’m still bleeding (which is abnormal). I’ve been having worsening IBS like symptoms (cramping and going more) this week and thought it was my period.

Now I’m realizing all of this may be coming from red light therapy. Any experiences like mine?? Does it get worse before it gets better?

tips for reactivity

my dog is 100% dog reactive and 30% human reactive. for example, i can take her into the mall, pet store, in crowds in a stroller, bag or on leash and she won’t bark. but if were just walking down the street and a random person walks towards us, 50/50 that she will bark. she’s fine in groups of people but a single person is more of a trigger. any tips?

is a senior diet necessary?

i have a 9 year old cockapoo who switches dog food (brand + protein source) every big bag so like every 3 months. he’s allergic to chicken so that cuts the choices down by A LOT. we’re constantly switching so he gets nutritional variety, doesnt develop any new allergies, and doesnt get bored of the food. we’ve been doing this for 8 years and have it down to a science so please no criticism as this works for us.

now that he’s getting older, does he need a senior kibble? there aren’t many choices for my criteria (needs to be chicken free, grain inclusive, no peas, added taurine). how necessary is a senior formula? is it a marketing gimmick?

also, any recommendations for supplements at this age? he’s on omega oil and dasuquin and snacks on plenty of fruits and veggies

what cue words to use when desensitizing dog to other dogs and people?

i do the engage disengage. right now we’re at the engage part and i don’t want to carry around a clicker with me. when she sees something, i say a cue word and then she looks at me and gets a treat.

i need a solid cue word. right now i use yes, her name, 1-2-3 (which we do also), and make a kissy sound. she’ll look at me for all of those but i would like to use just one cue word to remember and stick with. any suggestions?

types of training advice

hi, i have a 1 year old who is bark reactive to dogs and fearful. she is not aggressive at all and never even nipped us as a puppy. when she’s scared, she retreats. i had her in group classes and she’s come out of her shell so much but is still barking a lot at dogs. we do engage disengage and desensitization with treats at public places and we can go the whole time with her not barking if i constantly treat her/train (we do 1-2-3) and other times i do the same and she’s barking her head off. she’s good at distances but the second a dog comes near she’s barking so we back away again.

there is a local group who does socialization with dogs of all sizes in a public place but you’re not allowed to bring treats. basically the dogs learn to leash walk and heel while walking around with the dogs in the group. the group has MANY great reviews. if i attend this group, is this a bad idea?? i don’t want to set my dog back. she’s very food motivated and im scared she’s going to be so overwhelmed.

tips for places to decrease distance but stay under threshold

ive been working with my reactive 1 year old who was attacked at 4 months by my neighbor’s large dog. she used to be dog and human reactive but now she’s just mostly dog reactive. we’ve made a lot of progress and she’s good at farther away distances and we’ve lessened the distance of her threshold over time.

her biggest issue left now is when dogs walk nearby her or are in pretty short distances. how do i move forward? we mainly work at a dog park where we stay outside the fence. she’s fine at a distance but when the dogs come and go she freaks out and is definitely above threshold. but when we stay far away she’s under threshold and gets bored. please help!!

blow out help

i do a quick blow out using my new dyson airwrap. i do the paddle attachment quickly to dry and then the curl barrel attachment. it takes me 10 min from first product to last product to do my hair and i sleep on it right away. i don’t really care to hold the curl but just have less frizz/look more put together.

these are the products i have from various gifts/pr a friend has given me. what order do i use them in?

crown affair leave in conditioner
oils: olaplex, morrocan oil, and lanza
moroccan oil smoothing frizz serum
hairspray: dae, tresemme, kenra

so far i do leave in, brush, lanza oil, moroccan oil serum, then style, then moroccan oil oil then hairspray. is this right?

where do you keep your retainer during the day?

i always kept my retainer in a denture case (with the detachable basket) in water with a little hydrogen peroxide to soak during the day. i read somewhere that hydrogen peroxide might break down the plastic so i switched to just water and using a polident tablet every night before putting it in my mouth. i noticed that there’s mold growing in my denture case!!

where do you store your retainer? do you clean then store? my problem is if i clean then it needs to dry before storing if im not storing in a liquid. by the time i make it back to my bathroom and its dry, its already nighttime.

im also looking into one of those sonic cleaners but can you store it in there?
