Razor advice for my boyfriend

Hi guys, my boyfriend uses an old razor that plugs into the wall for his beard. It’s so old and kinda rusting and I really want to get him a new one so he doesn’t get razor bumps, infection etc. I also want to get one thats maybe battery powered or rechargeable since theres no outlet in the bathroom so he uses an extension cord. He works in surgery so he has to keep his beard shaved pretty much as soon as it comes in. I looked into The Beard Club but really wasn’t sure if they’re quality, figured I would come here and ask lol

Any advice/recommendations on a good razor for beards? Also what after care do you guys use (like alcohol for cleaning etc)

Get your partner a monitor

Hi guys my boyfriend is in fellowship and obviously extremely busy and burnt out. When he gets home he’s immediately on his laptop preparing for cases etc.

I got him a monitor to use as a second screen and it’s been really helpful and efficient cutting down on work time as opposed to just the laptop screen before

Anyway this might not be helpful to lots of people but I know time and energy is of the essence to all of us here & our partners so thought I would offer something that was (even a little bit) useful for us

Graduation is coming up and he didn’t really invite me, am I overreacting?

My boyfriend is finishing fellowship and it was an extremely stressful year. He honestly almost didn’t graduate because a family member fell ill. I supported him immensely through the whole fellowship, but as you can probably imagine especially during the health crisis when everything was chaotic.

Today he told me the date of his graduation. I asked if anyone was going, and he said, “No but I mean you can if you want”. Because of how he said it I asked do you want to be alone? and he said “yes, I just want to get it over with”

I completely understand that it’s his graduation and that he gets to decide how he experiences it. I also know that supporting your partner through a difficult time does not entitle you to be included in every milestone. But I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt. I wanted to be there to celebrate him, to feel included in his achievement, and to feel wanted there.

I also told him if you change your mind, I’ll definitely show up for you, and he just said “okay.”

Am I overreacting/being selfish for feeling hurt by this, or would most people feel a certain way if their partner basically said this?

What did you do? This feels crazy

Im a NY native and have been applying to housing connect for years with no success. I recently learned about re rentals. Any advice on how to secure one besides luck ? Seems like every 1 bedroom on the market is 2k plus and it’s literally unaffordable. Is this just the reality I have to accept?

Relationships after fellowship

I’ve been dating my orthopedic surgeon fellow boyfriend for about 8 months. He’s finishing fellowship soon and moving about 3 hours away to start his first attending job. The plan is for me to move in with him after we get engaged later this year.

As many of you probably know he’s VERY busy. The little free time he has he does make it a point to spend with me, and I genuinely don’t question his commitment. But it is intimidating to think that this level of quality time could be our long term reality, especially since I’d be moving away from all my friends and family and the state Ive lived in my entire life.

I’m a pretty independent person with my own career and hobbies, and he reassures me that his time will improve once fellowship is over. I don’t personally know any surgeons or people in relationships with surgeons, so I’m hoping to hear from those who have actually lived it

For those of you who are attendings or partners of surgeons:
Does the amount of time you have together actually improve after fellowship?
How different is attending life compared with residency/fellowship?
What should I realistically expect in terms of work hours, weekends, vacations, and overall work-life balance?

I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences, both the positives and the challenges. I’m trying to set realistic expectations before making a big life move.

TL;DR: My boyfriend is finishing his orthopedic surgery fellowship and starting his first attending job. He says he’ll have much more time after fellowship, but I’m wondering if that’s actually been true for others. For those who’ve lived it, does life and family time genuinely improve after fellowship, and what should I realistically expect?

Newly Dating Untreated

Partner dx unmedicated. My boyfriend and I have only been together for a couple of months. When I met him, he was taking medication for ADHD, but he stopped shortly after we got into a relationship. As far as I know, he was formally diagnosed, but he is currently unmedicated.

I didn’t know much about ADHD when we met. The more I learn, the more I’m wondering if some of the challenges we’re having could be related.

Some examples:
I carry most of the mental load
I do all of the cooking and housework (if I don’t the place becomes a mess)
If he says he’ll do something for me (even something small like a foot massage), it often doesn’t happen because he gets distracted by his phone or something else
If I ask him to clean or do something, he’ll start and then move on to something else before finishing
We’re always late because he waits until the last minute to get ready
He interrupts me a lot during conversations, which is hurtful and makes me feel unheard

Finding this community has been eye opening because I’m seeing so many experiences that sound familiar. At the same time some of the posts have scared me shitless. A lot of people describe years of exhaustion, resentment, and carrying the relationship. I’m worried about whether that’s what my future could look like.

My partner is a genuinely kind, caring person with a good heart and I love him which is why I want to understand this better.

For those who have been in similar situations:
How did you approach conversations about treatment or medication?
Is discussing medication usually a sensitive topic?
What boundaries or expectations helped protect you from taking on all the responsibility?
What do you wish you had known in the beginning of your journey dating someone with ADHD?
