How to use speech to text, and recommendations

So I have pain and tingling in my hands and forearms, awaiting diagnosis but I want to get back into writing on my laptop. Pain in my hands when typing stops this however so I thought i would try voice to speech.

I'm confused on how to do this however, and which is the best to use. Are any free ones any good? I'm on Windows. Struggling massively with being unable to do anything enjoyable while I rest my hands, so trying to find something to fill the void besides tv show as my mental health is tanking

breaking point but terrified of antidepressants?

going through a breakup that i initiated, unsure if it was right or wrong, but my GAD and possible ocd are going absolutely off the charts and i can't cope. I can't figure out what i feel, i just feel anxious about the breakup and my ex all the time, i dont know if thats because ive made a mistake breaking up or if its just my GAD and breaking up was correct. i keep imagining him in scenarios and it makes me so anxious. my anxiety has been slowly getting worse for the past year or so at least, i get derealisation (assumed), im getting intrusive thoughts all the time, and today im getting the urge to SH which i haven't done in years (I wont hurt myself, wouldnt want to worry my family) and had to stop myself from just walking out the house at 2am. how i feel today is scaring me.

i cant go on like this, im in counselling but it's not doing much, I start cbt next week with someone else however. i feel like I am going to have to try antidepressants because I can barely cope with this, I am however absolutely TERRIFIED of side effects.

theres so many possible side effects and i already get half of them for no/undiagnosed reasons like the dry mouth nausea dry eyes dizziness headaches and the dryness and dizziness is really debilitating and I dont want them to get worse. I cant deal with my dry eyes getting worse at all, thats pretty severe and awaiting eye clinic referral.

theres also sexual dysfunction thats a common side effect and that can be permanent too, same goes for emotional numbness. and the thought of those, and being potentially permanant, scares the absolute shit out of me. being numb would be even worse, and perma sexual dysfunction would be horrible.

as well as the whole trial and error thing and they can make you worse, suicidal, cause insomnia, mania, hallucinations, I remember them giving me them in hospital for a few days to sleep and I didn't like how they made me feel at all they gave me this weird sensation inside of my skull. plus they risk serotonin syndrome and im not sure if they interact with some of the meds I already take for various preexisting conditions, it's just a nightmare.

i couldn't cope with being any worse than i am, and i dont even feel like they would help. but i cant go on like this, and they might just help. so i just feel truly paralysed and overwhelmed. the thought of taking them makes me feel physically sick with panic and fear

it feels like they're going to either do nothing, or they're going to give me grim side effects, or ill go to come off them later down the line and I wont be able to due to withdrawals or get permanent side effects. these all feel very valid reasons to be concerned with taking them. but nobody else seems to get that and just thinks I wont help myself, when the thought of taking the antidepressant makes me completely panic and thats just at the thought, it terrifies me, I think I'd actually throw up with anxiety from taking it.

maybe thats all just my anxiety/ocd talking, but I feel like they're pretty valid things to be scared about, you're fucking with your brain chemistry and hormones or whatever they are. i just feel so paralysed and overwhelmed. i struggle with anxiety around side effects and reactions to meds but antidepressants are one i just cant get over, but it feels like i might really have to consider trying meds, but i don't know how to overcome the fear enough to take them

Camera settings for concert?

Looking to upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy s20+ and I really only want a good camera and good battery life. I was going to go Ultra for the camera as that seems to be better - however its far too big and bulky for me, so s24 it is.

I'm going to a concert which is what prompted the upgrade, could anyone advise on the best settings to optimise the camera for recording little videos of the concert please? On my current s20+ camera, they are so blurry and dark so hopefully it will be better than that

POCD groinal response - confused as to what this means

So I suspect I have OCD and so does the mental health nurse I see. I have had intrusive thoughts about being attracted to children, famil members etc occasionally, both of which trigger anxiety and reassurance seeking and avoidance but I dont get them too regularly, and I manage them okay, they don't impact me too much.

I'm currently in a period of doing badly mentally with my anxiety disorder anyways, in case this is relevant, and I have a lot going on so I have a lot of anxiety in general. The sexual intrusive thoughts have been okay recently.

But today upon hearing about an abhorrent description of child sexual abuse on the TV that was graphic (I notice I try to avoid hearing discussion of child abuse as it triggers anxiety around what I think is pocd) I found what I think is a groinal response? I felt arousal in my genitals. This instantly triggered anxiety and led to googling (reassurance seeking?) and made me think oh no am I a pedophile.

From what I have read, it seems it could just be OCD doing what OCD does but the feeling of arousal has really thrown me, I've never had that before. I have a boyfriend and I have always been attracted to men, I have never once thought about or had any desire to be sexual with a child. I am panicked typing this and even typing about it I am noticing the arousal feeling and it is making me more anxious.

Could anyone advise on whether all of this sounds like a typical OCD groinal response and just OCD? rather than actually being a pedophile. I intend to speak to the mental health nurse about it but they are on holiday, so some advice in the meantime would be appreciated.

Best way to help dry eyes during the night?

So I [26F] have developed dry eyes over the past year or so that has slowly gotten worse and now really bothers me. I believe my sleep quality isnt great, but nothing in my lifestyle has changed besides my anxiety problem worsening. Awaiting appointments to look into my dry eyes further.

They feel so dry most days, on a morning they feel horrible and sometimes wake me up during the night too. The opticians has told me my tears evaporate within 4 seconds instead of the 10 seconds it should be. I use hycosan eyedrops and they help somewhat but then a few minutes later my eyes feel awful again. I've tried the hycosan eye gel and lacrilube on a night and with both of them, I wake up and my eyes feel very dry before I open my eyes.

I recently had what a dr said could be a minor abrasion on my eye from my dry eye - upon opening my eyes on a morning I had pain and irritation the moment I opened that eye and I couldn't open it for a while and it was streaming with tears. This scared me and I'm really concerned about damaging my eyes during my sleep since they got so dry.

Can anyone recommend anything to try to help with dry eyes during the night, or a gel or drop that they found to be better than hycosan/lacrilube for during the night? They're dry and debilitating during the day too but at least I can reuse drops when needed. I have been trying a warm flannel too which doesn't do much but that obviously can't help during the night.

I tried reading the FAQs and couldn't get them to load so I apologise if this has already been answered there.

Lore before concert without 'spoilers?'

So I see MCR in the UK later this year and I've been avoiding most of the lore and the info on what happens at the concert etc to go into it blind since their tours began again.

However I just saw someone say this leg of the tour may be like a part 3 to it all, and that had me thinking maybe I should look up the lore so that I understand part 1 and 2 if that is the case.

Is there any way to do this without spoiling it for myself? Is there even anything to spoil? I like to go in relatively blind so i don't know what to expect but I would also like to be able to understand what is going on

Can eating after not eating for hours trigger anxiety?

I have an anxiety disorder and struggle with anxiety anyways. I also try to eat regular meals but due to factors beyond my control didnt eat as much as I should todqy and left many hours between eating to the point I was hangry, lightheaded and felt sick I was so hungry. I also have PMS at the moment too which doesn't help.

Now when I did finally eat, maybe an hour after eating I noticed my anxiety spike, I get palpatations and fatigue an hour after eating sometimes too which I attributed to blood sugar fluctuations/digestion. I didn't have those palpatations currently with the anxiety spike.

Has anyone else experienced similar with the anxiety? Can blood sugar fluctuations from eating after not eating for hours trigger anxiety? Just curious as to whether physiological factors may be triggering my anxiety at the moment, or at least be contributing. Either way I will be ensuring I do not go without food again.

How to function off very little sleep?

I struggle with not sleeping due to severe anxiety, and even when I do get say 7-8hrs I can still feel awful like I have not slept. This has been ongoing a year or two, but has only been very bad the past 6 months maybe.

Today I've had 5hrs and it feels like I've had 2, I feel dreadfully tired but I've got things I have to do, I dont want to lose my life to wrestling with sleep and go back to bed where I will prpbably still feel awful even after sleeping more. While I'm im the process of trying to control my anxiety, does anyone have any tips for waking up when you can't fall asleep again and have things to do?

I'm in my 20s and my periods are fairly irregular but not very heavy and I only bleed for maybe 5 days. Sometimes they hurt more than others, sometimes it's maybe a 4/10, other times like today it was an 8/10, but cramps are only really there on the first day or two. Ibuprofen and not moving/hot water usually do the trick. Today the pains were only very bad for an hour or two.

However I've noticed that sometimes on the days when it's really painful, after the bout of pain, I pass blood clots or lumps of tissue, not very big. Today i've noticed 3 lots of tissue since those very painful cramps. Does anyone else experience this or know why this might be? If it is even related, but I'm sure I notice it more when it's more painful. I find myself noticing tissue and thinking 'oh, that must be why it hurt so bad earlier' but I'm not sure if that's actually the case.
