Worrying for their future?

Is anyone else worrying about their child’s occupational/professional future? With recent news about Gen Z men dropping out of the workforce in droves and reports of AI-driven layoffs in the hundreds of thousands…I worry that I have zero clue what the future of work will hold for my now 2 year old daughter and soon-to-be-born second child.

In previous generations, parents had a fairly good idea of which professional fields will lead to a good economic situation (e.g., medicine, law, engineering, trades, etc.) Today? Who knows what the occupational situation will look like in 20 years? AI has thrown a huge wrench in this and I find myself worrying for their futures. Anyone else? Or am I overthinking this?

Passive Income Sources

Has anyone had some success with establishing a passive source of income as a psychologist (e.g., continuing ed courses; digital psychoed products; apps; published book; etc.)?

Curious what people have found success doing.

Vibration for Alarm Only

How do I enable vibration for waking me up in the morning with my alarm but not for anything else (e.g., texts, calls)?

Right now I have vibration off in settings, but when my watch alarm went off in the morning there was no vibration too, rendering it useless.

I have the Bip 6.

Selling After a Few Years

As I’ve been perusing Zillow, I’ve noticed an increased frequency of houses going up for sale after having been sold only 2-4 years ago. It doesn’t seem likely that these were renovations/flips, as those seem to typically go up for sale again within 6 months - 1 year.

How do you interpret houses that were sold and then up for sale again within 2-4 years? Is it a bad sign? Why are people doing this? At the very least, it seems surprising for people to do this so frequently given the current state of the RE market in NJ.

Private Pay Practices Question

For those of you who are in private practice (in USA) and not in-network with any insurances, I’m wondering if you’ve noticed any noticeable decline in referrals now that several VC companies (e.g., Alma, Headway) have flooded the market over the past few years with clinicians accepting insurance. Curious to hear people’s experiences.

New Blue Link Store Update

Has anyone actually been able to successfully download and apply the new cluster themes from the Blue Link Store to their Hyundai?

I have a 2025 Tuscon HEV (in USA). I was able to download the recent OTA update for my Tucson and download a new cluster theme (nature) on my phone’s Blue Link app. But the new theme isn’t showing up in my Tucson’s cluster settings. Any ideas?

Anyone have experience selling and/or buying with Redfin? I’ve seen a few more Redfin for sale signs popping up on lawns and curious if anyone has used them before.

Does anyone else’s toddler reliably throw a tantrum during car rides? My 16 month old has always continuously cried and screamed for any car ride over 30 minutes. When will she grow out of this? And any tips would be suggested, too.

▲ 5 r/UFOs

On a recent Area52 podcast episode, the host reads from Amaury’s memoir of his 1988 abduction. His photos of the UFOs have been discussed here before, but I’m more curious about what people think of the many details of his abduction story, especially the “projections” he was shown. I noticed a few things that didn’t seem right to me (below), but curious what other people think.

When shown the projection of the other planet where humans lived, I found it unlikely that the exact same ethnic races of humans would develop as they developed on Earth.

The idea of building a floating city to avoid the effects of daily, massive earthquakes seems nonsensical. Yes, the city would be detached from the shaking land, but the tsunamis would likely be problematic to a floating city, to say the least.

Curious to hear what others’ thoughts are.
