Im tired of being in the questioning cycle

I’ve been questioning my gender for over a year and I don’t know what to make of it. I’m not expecting anyone here to tell me if I’m trans or not. I just want to know if anyone has gone through something similar. For some background, I socially transitioned when I was around 11–13. Around 14, when high school was about to start, I wanted to stop. Part of it was that changing back felt really hard, and part of it was because I had a crush on a boy and thought I’d only have a chance with him if I was seen as a girl (I never actually talked to him). So I just stayed living as female through high school. Around May 2025, I started getting recurring thoughts and mental images of myself as male. At first I tried really hard to ignore them, but they kept coming back. I even tried cannabis edibles because I thought maybe they’d give me some kind of clarity, but they didn’t. The weird thing is that these thoughts usually aren’t intentional. I’ll just randomly picture myself as a guy, and it actually feels comforting. Then I end up spending hours picking it apart and wondering what it means. I’ve also had the same daydream for a long time. In it, I’m a trans guy who’s tall, muscular, goes to the gym, plays basketball, has a girlfriend, and has friends who know I’m trans and accept me. The daydream also includes a guy I used to like and someone who bullied me. I honestly feel sad that I never got to experience being a teenage boy, and I think part of that is because even when I socially transitioned, I never really felt like other people saw me as male. Sometimes I’ll also randomly imagine myself as a guy while doing completely normal things, like washing my face or doing skincare. Body-wise, I used to have a much bigger chest, and I hated it. It’s a lot smaller now, but I still wish it looked like a male chest instead of just a small female one. It’s not just about size. It’s about wanting male physical characteristics. Something I’ve realized is that even if I could have everything I want in life as a woman, like confidence, a good career, financial stability, and independence, it still feels like something would be missing. It feels like I want to actually be seen as male and have a male body, not just have masculine traits. The part that’s driving me crazy is the constant questioning. If I think, “Maybe I’m trans,” my brain calms down for a while. If I think, “No, I’m probably not,” I feel relieved because I don’t have to deal with everything that would come with being trans. But then the questioning starts all over again. Has anyone else gone through something like this? What helped you figure out what was actually going on?

Feeling neglected

Im 16(F) I’ve been dealing with swallowing problems ever since March of this year with heartburn, throat issues, and gagging. My parents especially my mother would say I’m faking it for attention even though I would be eating in front of her whenever we go out or I choose sit with family. I had gotten my first appointment with a GI on July 10th when June had just already started I had gotten an endoscopy my results came normal results (biopsies) I didn’t have a follow up appointment with the GI he just said the results and vanished my family was very happy but I still couldn’t swallow and I had became underweight I’m not 94 pounds I’m 5”4 for reference and my bones have gotten very weak I can hear many crack and pops and I have never had that problem before my parents just say to eat more then I’ll be fine but I tell them it hurts and then my mom has the audacity what hurts? Like bro

Normal esophagus and stomach lining but biopsies taken?

I had an upper endoscopy and my doctor said the lining of my esophagus and stomach looked normal, but they still took biopsies to check for EoE.
Has anyone else had a normal-looking endoscopy but ended up having EoE or another diagnosis from the biopsies?

Progressive swallowing problems, weight loss, and upper back pain when eating. Waiting for GI appointment.

Hi everyone I’m 22 years old, 5’4”, and I’ve been having swallowing problems for the past few months. I’m waiting for a pediatric GI appointment, but it’s still about 9 days away, and I’m getting worried because my symptoms seem to be getting worse.
My symptoms include:
Food feels like it gets stuck after I swallow.
Bread, Subway sandwiches, chicken, pasta, bananas, and strawberries are difficult to eat.
Rice is usually easier.
Smoothies and mango lassi are uncomfortable, and sometimes even water feels difficult after food gets stuck.
I have heartburn and sometimes regurgitation where food or liquid seems to come back up.
I get a sharp pain in the middle of my upper back while eating, usually after a few bites.
I’ve unintentionally lost weight from about 102 lb to 97 lb because eating has become difficult.
Today, chicken felt stuck for a while, but I was eventually able to drink water again.
My pediatrician referred me to GI. Urgent care started me on omeprazole and Pepcid, and I’m currently on day 4. I haven’t noticed much improvement yet.
I’m not looking for a diagnosis, but I’m wondering:
Has anyone had similar symptoms?
What diagnosis did it turn out to be?
Is there anything I should do while waiting for my GI appointment?
Do these symptoms sound like reflux/GERD, eosinophilic esophagitis, or something else?
Thanks for reading. I’m getting pretty anxious because I just want to be able to eat normally again.

I’m so tired of being in this loop

I’m 17 and I’ve been questioning my gender for years now. Honestly, it’s never been a simple or straightforward thing for me. There have been times when I felt pretty strongly connected to being a guy, times when I felt okay being a girl, and a lot of time spent somewhere in the middle just trying to figure out what any of it means. One of the first big things was that I had a male identity online for a while. It wasn’t just online though. In middle school I also dressed and presented more masculine in real life. Being seen as a guy felt important to me, but I was also really self-conscious about it. I remember constantly thinking my voice was too high and worrying that nobody actually saw me as male. Sometimes strangers would use male pronouns for me in public, and if my parents were around I’d get embarrassed. Looking back, I don’t think the embarrassment was because I hated being seen as a guy. I think I was just anxious and felt awkward about not looking the way I wanted to. The thing is, gender wasn’t the only thing I was struggling with. I’ve always had a hard time making friends and fitting in socially. I worry way too much about what other people think of me. I tend to put people on pedestals and admire them so much that I can’t even tell if I want to be them or if I’m attracted to them. I’ve worried about literally everything: my appearance, my height, my future career, relationships, whether I’m normal, whether I fit in. Gender questioning kind of existed alongside all of that. Over the years I became obsessed with analyzing myself. I’d stay up late reading trans forums, detrans stories, Reddit posts, YouTube videos, pretty much anything I could find. I kept comparing myself to other people and treating their experiences like a checklist. Instead of paying attention to how I actually felt, I was always trying to prove something to myself one way or another. It got to the point where I think the analyzing itself became part of the problem. What’s confusing is that I’ve had experiences pointing in completely different directions. Sometimes I imagine myself as a woman in the future. I’ve thought about having kids someday. When I’m daydreaming or just imagining my life years from now, I often picture myself as female without even thinking about it. There have also been times where I’ve looked in the mirror and thought, “Wait, I’m actually pretty. Why would I want to change this?” Those moments were real too.
Now I’m getting ready for college and trying to figure out my future in general. Gender is still something I think about, but it feels different now. The biggest change is that I’m not constantly trying to force an answer anymore. I don’t spend nearly as much time doomscrolling gender content or comparing myself to random people online. Instead of asking myself over and over am I trans ?????! I’ve started thinking more about what actually resonates with me. Right now, the trans interpretation of my experiences feels like it makes sense. Sometimes I genuinely feel like I’ve never really related to being a girl the way other girls seem to. But I also don’t feel some huge urgency to transition right this second. I’m cautious. I know I was born female, and I know I can keep living that way if that’s what I decide. If I ever do make major decisions, I want to take my time and be sure. I still have moments where I picture myself as a woman in the future, which is part of why I don’t feel 100% certain about anything. I guess where I’m at now is that I’ve stopped trying to solve myself like I’m some kind of math problem. For years I felt like I needed a definitive answer immediately. Now I’m trying to accept that maybe I don’t. Maybe it’s okay to acknowledge the direction I seem to be leaning while also accepting that I’m still figuring things out. I don’t know exactly who I’ll be in a few years. I just know that this has been a real part of my life for a long time, and I’m trying to approach it with more patience than panic these days.
