honestly the only reason i am using cursor is because of composer 2.5 model

the ui is buggy, laggy dogshit otherwise

its at the point where im strongly considering just coding my own agent orchestrator that uses kimi k2.5 or perhaps just be model agnostic

to give you some examples:

• i have to remove / archive agents constantly otherwise the app consumes enormous amounts of memory that lags the shit out of my macbook (even when the agents are not doing anything)
• when starting a new chat for an agent it often will not bring the project dir back into the agents list
• when starting a new chat for an agent if often switches to a completely different agent repeatedly and starts a chat with the agent i didnt want
• when opening the ide often times it either does not open the correct project or does not open any project at all
• the app doesnt remember any window positions so im constantly having to reposition things every time a new project window opens (which im using rectangle to make bearable but its still complete ass)
• the app is constantly trying to get me to use models or methods i dont want, like bugging me to use the planner or using multi-agents with grok (also dogshit), etc. instead of just continuing to use composer 2.5 for everything
• clicking "always allow" does nothing, it still asks me to confirm things half the time even if its the same command being run (e.g. git push)

these are just some examples theres tons more

Anyone in the past could learn how to code. However, a lot of people who tried failed for various reasons. Laziness, low intelligence, inability to structure an app properly, or whatever else.

I’m noticing the same trend with using ai agents. People think they can just tell an agent to make Minecraft and it will one shot a game perfectly. Or even for smaller features, they can’t seem to get the result they want.

People are not learning how to prompt properly, use mcp servers, create their own tools and rules, etc. so they think that ai is the issue when it’s actually their inability to grasp concepts and learn things. Just like when people tried learning to code by hand and failed.

one of my biggest "bosses" (clients) was full on yelling at me on the phone earlier today

this client does lead gen for the auto industry. over the past several weeks i have been taking the initiative to improve lead quality and optimizing various websites and systems for the company. basically using a fire extinguisher on a plane whose wings have exploded mid air.

yesterday, he told me to revert a ton of changes because in his mind, as long as the dealers (customers) aren't complaining then i guess everything is ok

except 2 dealers just dropped again today. this company cannot retain dealers at all and it is because the lead quality is shit due to their "lets sell them garbage and wait until they complain" business strategy. i even BCC'd myself on emails just to see how often the dealers complain vs. when they alert me the dealers are unhappy. they only ever tell me things are a problem AFTER we have lost the customer, rather than making changes to keep them on board.

we have gone through dozens of customers who we probably could have kept if we just tweaked their landing page forms to make sure the leads they got were reasonable. i put a large amount of time and effort into developing a pipeline that ensures we retain data AND improves lead quality by only training ad platforms with qualified leads.

so anyways, he starts losing it on the phone today due to his own incompetence. by the end of the conversation he started not-so-directly agreeing with my changes to improve the lead quality. basically asking me to redo everything he told me to revert.

he also threatened to cut my pay in half (which he did except not totally half) and that i would have 2 months left with them because he was going to hire someone and have me train them to replace me. except i'm not training anyone, once it gets to that point i will block their numbers entirely. im going to just start my own companies.

i already do everything anyways; coding, marketing, tech support, customer relations, devops, etc. i even have to do IT support for the company because this guy who is the lead of a large IT-based company can't even work his email. i'm constantly having to re-explain things, re-send emails, etc.

i think the only way to truly navigate this garbage economic system we are in is to be an entrepreneur. start your own businesses. never answer to a boss, only to your direct customers. cut out all the middle men who are basically just parasites.

not sure why cursor keeps changing my model to grok when it consistently produces far worse results, and is slower than composer 2.5

its actually mind blowing that they have such an outstanding in-house model that they clearly put a lot of time and care into refining for coding purposes, only to throw it all away with sketchy model auto-selection and removing the option to just set composer 2.5 to be the default model for all new agent conversations. like wtf is this "last used" shit? just let me pick composer 2.5

I really need to stress how outrageous this is. I've tested Claude, grok, gemini, almost every model and composer 2.5 blows them all out of the water. it uses best practices, it doesn't do more than it has to, its the only reason im actually paying for cursor right now

really makes me consider switching to codex though, which is a damn shame because I've really been enjoying composer.

Has anyone else noticed Gemini is getting slower and buggier. At least half the time I prompt it just sits on the loading icon for a while then errors out.

almost all of my clients wordpress sites got hacked by ai or whatever is going on right now

now i have to redo all of these sites in a proper framework

thank god i have cursor to assist me with this so i can whip up some replacement laravel sites in like a day

my warning to everyone is to just stop using wordpress altogether, its a garbage platform full of spaghetti code worse than any slop cursor could generate, and vulnerabilities that exist regardless of using wordfence, firewalls, auto update, being super anal about plugin installations, etc.

As a pro dev with many client sites still in Wordpress, after 2 more sites got hacked a few days ago, I’m done.

With how good AI is now, it just doesn’t make sense to use Wordpress anymore. I can create sites faster with cursor than any site builder with predefined blocks that Wordpress has.

And for the record, ive done everything possible to mitigate security risks; wordfence, firewalls, isolated Linux server users, being very strict with plugins, etc. it just doesn’t matter.

I’ll be getting cursor to recode all my client Wordpress websites in laravel + inertia + react. If they need to change something on the website, I’ll have it whip up a super basic filament panel with the functionality they need, integrated directly into the site.

Honestly it doesn’t even make sense to allow clients to have super user access to change things anyways. They always mess something up or hire some third party to destroy my work.
