NFP after birth but before cycle returns

For c section mama's, what are we doing after being cleared for intimacy but before our cycle returns? Is the answer to abstain since we can't track? My doctor told me to wait 18 months before conceiving again due to the risk of incision opening or uterine rupture.

Normal for the seller to delay accepting our offer?

We offered $390k, they countered with $400k. We accepted and signed. I got the champagne ready. The next day they countered again with a $2000 deductible for any repairs needed. We accepted and signed again. Now they are trying to do a third counter to say that our realtor worded the last clause wrong. At what point would you walk away?

I thought it was a done deal with the first counter but now I'm getting the impression that they are trying to drag it out to see if they get any better offers. Maybe it's just not that easy anymore. I was very impressed when I thought that we actually got an offer accepted without having to waive inspection.

If they end up getting a better offer than it was a lot of wasted time on our part that we could have spent looking for other places. It's also lowkey giving us time to think and maybe consider what could possibly be wrong with it, or maybe it's not "meant to be." It has stucco which I heard can be bad.

It's only been on the market for 4 days but we were the only ones who showed up to the open house on Sunday. I will admit that the pictures and listing don't do it justice. It's one of those rare places that actually looks better in person than in the listing. I think they had expected to have a war of offers at this point but they just aren't getting that.

I like our realtor, he's very determined and wants his commission, but also seems like all the realtors are friends so not sure how much we can really trust them.

The Mews at Bailey Station

Looking to buy at the Mews at Bailey Station in Caln Township Downingtown. Can anyone give a positive/negative experience of living in the area or near the area? What are the neighbors like? Has there been any issues regarding the stucco such as moisture or mold? Or any known issues with the homes?

We have one baby and are looking forward to joining St Joseph parish and visiting west chester on the weekends.

Anyone successful with remediation of attic mold?

Buying a house and legit wanted to put in an offer when I read the sellers disclosure that there was mold in the attic (!!!) That had been remediated. I'm shocked because as someone who had mold in my apartment I didn't feel any type of way in this townhouse and the humidity checked out. To me personally I don't think it's worth the risk but I know when I tell my husband he is probably going to say that oh well it was remediated so it's fine now. Which is why I'm wondering if anyone has had a successful attic remediation?

Here's what it said. "During pre purchase inspection, mold was found in attic. Remediation occurred and fan was installed to prevent new mold from developing." The current owners purchased the home in june 2025 and are already selling it now. That is a red flag for me that maybe it didn't work.

it's also surprising that the mold was recognized and remediated just because from my experience in my apartment it was impossible to get anyone to even admit mold was a real problem. Everyone thought the symptoms were in my head even after I had a lab test on the mold found. So the fact that this is legitimately recognized here makes me think it must have been a major issue.

Unrelated but the disclosure also stated that the water heater in the basement was leaking and was replaced

Videographer delivered raw clips.. can I get it edited into a film?

My videographer basically gave up on us.. he delivered a million unlabled raw clips via Google drive, some are not even in a playable format. Not sure if that is a normal mode of delivery. Better than ghosting i guess which he was doing for a while. We were supposed to get a social media reel for sharing, a short film, and a long form film but it's not in there. Do you think I could find someone to edit the clips into a film at this point?? Where would I even start? His work on socials is soo good so I don't understand why this would happen. He promised 4-8 weeks for delivery but we received the clips 11 months later and the films.. never

Breast feeding aversion and agitation

My lactation consultant is on vacation. What should I do if I'm experiencing breastfeeding aversion and agitation? I had a lot of pain with latch the first few weeks, I'm wondering if that is what caused this?

I am almost 6 weeks pp and it's mostly not hurting any more. But I had this overstimulating and overwhelming sensation and it made me so irritable. The best way to describe it is an unbearable tickle that gets worse the longer he's feeding. I couldn't take it and I couldn't get him to unlatch he was on there so tight. I am using nipple shields.

I don't want to take it out on him and I don't want to stop breastfeeding. But I'm so afraid to continue now it's making me avoid feedings and the anxiety is getting to me. The only way I can make it through is to stop at 10 minutes and I'm pinching myself as a distraction so I don't feel the sensation on my nipple. I read online that basically the feeding is triggering a fight or flight feeling instead of the bonding like it's supposed to.

I don't know what to do

Menu feedback for christening party- 20 adults 10 kids

It's a cocktail style party at 2pm so I'm prioritizing finger foods people can eat standing up. I'm unsure if I have too many food options here, and should double up on some of the popular items but cut down the list. Full trays serve up to 20.

  1. Charceuterie (we name our price and caterer designs, is $100 good or go higher?)

  2. Pretzel bites (full $72)

  3. Chicken fingers (full $75, can also do popcorn chicken instead or get both)

  4. Cheese steak egg rolls (full $104, can also do regular cheese steaks instead for same price)

  5. Shrimp (half $70, do you prefer cocktail or coconut? Or both?)

  6. Meatball subs (full $110)

  7. Mac n cheese (full $60)

  8. Dessert ($45 do you prefer funnel cake fries or beignets?)

Any input welcome. I'm worried this is too much food or some items will go fast and others wasted. I'm anticipating the pretzels, chicken fingers, and mac n cheese will be popular especially with all the kids coming. I'm unsure how popular the meatballs and cheese steak egg rolls will be or if we need both/either.

how strict are you with keeping newborns home?

Just need to vent about my MIL but also wondering how long you keep newborns at home? Hubby and I both agreed we didn't want to take him out in public for some time. Baby was in the NICU. We've been bouncing between my parents and in-laws so we have support 24/7 when we need to get out of the house. We've been flexible with visitors who are family as long as they wash their hands and aren't sick.

Since I am a ftm, I am wondering if I'm being too strict about keeping him home. MIL has been supportive and helpful until it came to her church picnic yesterday. Baby is 3.5 weeks old. Both in-laws mentioned the church picnic and wanting us to go. I didn't want to go but let hubby explain why. They know we aren't taking him out in public and I heard hubby state that we would go but have no one to watch the baby. They responded "bring him" ???

I wondered if hubby didn't explain clear enough that we aren't taking him out in public yet. I knew beforehand that this picnic would be no shade, no chairs, no bathroom or place to change or nurse him. Plus loud and crowded. There's no benefit to us risking to take him, it sounded like a nightmare.

The 3 of us were having a nice productive morning when in-laws went to the picnic. We are in the process of applying for a mortgage so we were working on that and baby was a little fussy.

MIL wouldn't stop texting and calling and guilting us about how much she wanted us to come, and people want to meet him, and come over immediately, and she got us a tent for shade. I texted back no, too many crowds and he's fussy. Hubby was fine with this until she called him and said his cousin in there and wants to meet the baby. Hubby really wanted cousin to meet and hold the baby. Then he started getting mad at me and asking if I got my period back and why I'm being so mean to him. He said he likes to go places that family members want us to go. I said that's find you go but the baby is too little.

Somehow I lost that one and we had to rush over without having time to shower or even pack a diaper bag. I haven't even learned how to change a diaper in public yet.

A bunch of old ladies met him and every time I heard "omg someone told me there's a little baby over here" I died inside a little. I stood by him the whole time, kept him in the carrier and wouldn't let anyone hold him. MIL stood by too but didnt understand why I was being so uptight and not leaving the baby alone.

Am I being unreasonable? Baby has diarrhea today.

Lancaster County/Chester/Berks realtor

Looking for someone who can help us find a house somewhere around the Lancaster County /Chester County border. Possibly even into Berks. We aren't familiar with that area at all so really need someone who is able to offer guidance and insight on communities instead of just asking where we want to live. We are used to living in west chester so it's going to be a huge change for us.

My husband works in ephrata and I work in west chester. We are first time buyers and have an income of around 125k. We are thinking if we end up in Lancaster we could get a single family home but in chester would end up in a town home.

We'd like to have a 3 bedroom with a soaking tub. Our timeline is really ASAP honestly but by September at the latest.

I'm hoping to interview some realtors as we haven't had the best luck in the past and I feel like this is such an important part of the process.
