mini enema after issues

My cat went to the vet Monday aug 3 they checked her bowels and did a "mini enema" on the car ride home she had a very loose and mushy poo in her carrier.

the rest of Monday and Tuesday she had very small amounts of soft gooey raggy stool

today, Wednesday I found a few pee sized hard pieces around and in her box as well then in the afternoon she had pea size ( 3 peas ?) very soft or not formed just raggy

I spoke to the vet he said 3-5 days until a normal ( or what is normal for her BM) so in the 3-5 days is that monday as day 1 or tuesday as day 1 I can't call back and ask

Also she keep licking probably because os much residue but I noticed under her tail it looks shaved! no one told me they did that

so I'm just tryin to find out if anyone has seen this with their cats and how it went

Cat recovery after in-clinic mini enema: timeline question and stool consistency fluctuation

Hi everyone, I am looking for some insight on what is normal for a cat recovering from a mini enema.

My cat had a mini enema done at the vet on Monday. On the way home that day, she had a very large, messy bowel movement in her carrier.

Since then, her stool consistency and output have been fluctuating:

  • Tuesday: Very soft, unshaped stools in very small amounts.
  • Wednesday (Today): Initially passed small, firm ("skittles-sized") bits that were bordering on hard, which then switched back to being soft and gooey.

I also just noticed that the area underneath her tail at the base has been shaved.

My vet mentioned it takes 3 to 5 days for bowel movements to return to normal, but I am confused about how to count this: Does "Day 1" start on Monday (the day of the procedure), or does Day 1 start on Tuesday?

Are these fluctuations in stool size and consistency normal during the post-enema recovery window, or should I be concerned? Any advice is appreciated!

Managing Chronic Feline Constipation: Timeline, Vet Visits, & Meds?

Hi everyone,

My cat has been dealing with chronic constipation for a while now, and I’m looking to hear from others who have gone through this. We are actively working closely with our vet we're currently in the middle of transitioning her food, she’s received Sub-Q fluids twice, and she is on daily Lactulose.

Right now, she isn't showing signs of acute distress or blockage no vomiting, panting, straining painfully, or lethargy she just occasionally goes up to 3 days without a bowel movement.

I'm not looking for medical advice, but I’d love to hear about your daily routines and experiences with your own constipated kitties:

  1. What is your "normal" BM timeframe? What's the sweet spot for your cat, and at what day mark do you start getting concerned?
  2. When do you call the vet vs. adjust home care? At how many days without a poop do you contact your vet for guidance or an extra check-in?
  3. Vet Visit Schedule: How often are you taking your cat in for routine check-ins, fluid top-ups, or enemas when things get backed up?
  4. Daily Management: How long did it take you and your vet to find a food, supplement, or med routine that kept things consistent?

I’d appreciate any personal stories or insights into what long-term management has looked like for you TIA

lactulose for cat

Hi, we are currently dealing with constipation, which is probably just going to be chronic with my four year old cat. She has been prescribed lactolos. first, it was 0.5 ml every 6 to 8 hours. But they told me to bump it up to 1 ml 3 times a day.

To me, that means every 8 hrs. But I'm wondering if I can do 8 in the morning 2 in the afternoon and then the third dose 8 at night

Which would leave a 12 hour gap because we usually get ready for bed and everything at nighttime. So I'm just not sure if she can miss that overnight. Dose, or what the recommendation would be.

I don't want to contact our vet. Because even a virtual visit is $50, so I'm not sure that it's such a big thing that I need to consult our vet. And I'm hoping to get some advice here. Thanks.

Is it okay to add water to lactulose

I am currently 2 administer 0.5 ml to my cat. For constipation, however, she doesn't really like it. When it's mixed in anything and definitely does not want the oral syringe, so I put it in a little bit of water, not her regular bowl and she drank it all up. So I'm just wondering if this will still make the lactulose work effectively.

Lactulose and water

My cat has been dealing with chronic constipation for a little while we saw the vet.Twice in the past week, there was no impactation. They just gave her fluids and rx lactulose 0.5ml. she hates the oral syringe and I haven't been too successful with mixing it into something. So I mixed it in water. And then I also stirred, in a little tiki. Treat, and she drinks it all up. I am looking online to see if watering it down. Reduces the efficacy, but I am finding mixed answers. So I am coming here for advice. or a direct answer from somebody who has had experience with this or is trained in the veterinary field. tia

FortiFlora and cat constipation / slow bowel movements?

I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this with Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora.

My cat has a history of longer times between bowel movements and occasional constipation. Lately, I've been using just a sprinkle of FortiFlora twice a day on her wet food to entice her to eat it. I'm starting to wonder if using it daily like this might be contributing to her constipation or slowing things down.

I’ve looked into this online and have gotten really conflicting answers—some sources say probiotics help with regularity, while others mention they firm things up.

I'm just looking to hear about others' personal experiences with it. Has anyone noticed a link between FortiFlora and constipation or slower transit times in their cats? Did stopping it or tweaking the amount help?

Thanks in advance.

I think I'm officially a crazy cat lady.

My cat, Lucia, has been having recurring constipation. We were at the vet Saturday and are heading back today. She finally pooped this morning, but I get super anxious in exam rooms and forget everything I meant to ask.

So, I sent my vet a quick email summary beforehand:

Gabapentin

Lactulose

Food

Poop update

I ended the email apologizing for being that owner and thanking them for understanding. Now I feel insane for emailing my vet a bulleted list about my cat's bowel habits. 😂

Has anyone else done this, or have I officially crossed over into crazy cat parent territory?

per the sub rules we have already been to a veterinarian. I am not seeking veterinarian advice.

Follow up constipated cat

We went to the veterinarian today. They gave her fluids subcutaneously. And lactulos oral they gave her the first dose, and I am supposed to give it to her every 6 to 8 hours until she has a bowel movement... As of right now, her last bowel movement was Thursday at 7:15 in the morning. We are at about 53 hours. I'm not sure why they did not sedate her and do some sort of manual procedure. I have an appointment for Monday morning at 9 AM. If she does not go at that point, it will have been 4 days. I'm not really sure what else to do. She is still a little out of it from the sedation medication. She had some wet food when we got home. She was interested in chasing a string very slowly. She urinated this morning in her box as normal. The only thing that is not happening is poop. Has anyone else experienced this

floeer breeding

Okay, so I sold all my flowers. I want to start everything from seeds so I can keep better track of my breeding. Has anyone done this? Aside from separate plots and using custom designs to mark which flowers were original seed flowers, does anyone have any tips?

🪨🔹️Rock Garden and Blue Rose Progress🔹️🪨

Hi. This is just a short video clip showing my rock garden, which I pretty much only achieved by smashing all the rocks and just letting them regenerate. I like the design, but I'm not really sure if I'm going to stick with that.

My primary goal right now is blue roses. I have two separate plots going: one with orange and purple roses, and one with pink and yellow seed roses. The yellow seeds haven't bloomed yet.

I also have three separate plots with one red rose each. Each of those red roses is a hybrid rose, but I forgot which plot they came from, whether it was orange and purple or pink and yellow. So, they're separated for now. I'm hoping that if they clone, a blue rose will happen.

I'm thinking that this whole setup is going to be my test setup because I kind of want to throw them all away, but at the same time, I don't. So, I'm just going to see how it goes.

Any advice?

Current island layout after some terraforming! 🏝️

This is my island layout right now after some terraforming. I did not include the rivers in the map; I created this on Happy Island Designer. I’ll probably work on eliminating the water today.

The cliff in D6 with the incline has a bunch of hydrangeas on it. The cliffs in A/B 2/3 where the museum and campsite are located have trees and the current river/pond I need to get rid of. Any ideas are welcome! I’m thinking forest with different level trees, so I need to make an area to grow those. I am also working on blue windflowers and blue roses. 🌲💙

in progress

So I'm working on flattening my island I moved all my houses to the beach. I'm also working on some sort of Rock Garden and I'm just smashing rocks and then hoping that they group themselves together. This is what I have so far.
