Who has dealt with warranty claims for cvr/admark/sinbosen/paulkitson/omb and equivalent OEMs?

Looking for cheap power for a friend and I'm aware that pretty much all of these Chinese OEMs have similar products. So maybe customer service is where I should look. And yes, I'm aware that going cheap means there's not much support. But still, I hope to find a manufacturer who will help diagnose issues and willing to send replacement parts if needed. Or at minimum have replacement parts for sale.

Anyone have had to deal with warranty claims please speak up! The good and the bad. I want to hear it all. This is a good place to vent if you've had bad experiences. Thanks!

Anyone with a CVR/admark DSP amp can show me their limiter settings available?

Looking into these amps for a friend. With their DSP software, what are the limiter settings available? I assume peak and rms compressor settings? With a voltage threshold? Does the amp actually know what voltage it is outputting or is it a dbu calculation? Maybe a screen shot would be great. Thanks!

Fuel tank isolation valve vs vapor blocking valve vs vapor vent valve vs purge canister valve vs evap switching valve

I have P2418 in my 2010 Ford escape hybrid, and the only symptom I have is that when filling gas, it clicks off early if filling too fast. As if a valve that releases pressure from the tank is stuck closed. I've been trying to find the correct part to replace but online videos only shows replacing evap/purge canister related valves and solenoids which I don't think it's the one I want. There are so many similar names even in the diagrams. Some of these are in the engine bay while others are on top of the fuel tank and by a charcoal canister. Which is which?

I have had this issue for over a few thousand miles. If I ignore it will it cause other issues?

Anyone uses only a heat pump for your hot tub?

Does it work?

https://www.turbro.com/products/beluga-inverter-swimming-pool-heat-pump-50v-75v?variant=41982964301866

Even if it works I imagine it's only for not very cold climates? The specs show down to 5f. But in canada for example, people keep their hot tubs running below that surely? Is it going to be the same case as HVAC where you want to use the heat pump most of the time but during extreme cold you still need resistive heating? Do people actually install 2 heaters in that case (one HP one resistive)?

The heat pump only needs 12awg wire but if I need a traditional heater plumbed as well then I would still need to run 6awg..... So would it be worth it even?

Is there a better way to stub out a 1/4" line?

Currently just a 1/4" copper tube over to the faucet. Wondering if I should have it put into a box - but that's an exterior wall.

And if not, should I be concerned about the tube being moved in and out with the fridge and not as durable to movement compared to a braided or pex line?

What's the best way to do this for new construction?

What's the best way to only turn off the fridge water line?

I know the orange valve will do it but it'll also shut off whatever that is down stream. My understanding is that the "handle" for the 1/4" line is not a shut off but only a "tap" into the main line? Or will that shut off the fridge water line?

Is any amount of air leakage "ok" for expansion pex?

I'm losing about 10psi air every 24 hours in a 3000sqft house. Pumped it up to 100psi. Checked every rough in valve (delta universal ) and every joint I can get to easily with soapy water. I have 3 outdoor faucets I don't know how to test. Indoor faucets have copper stub outs. Any ideas what else it could be?

I need an AWD PHEV SUV for cold weather.

I've had my eyes on the outlander PHEV for many years, simply because there aren't many options that is a PHEV, SUV, and AWD. I've even helped 2 other friends buy their outlander phevs (just before the tax credits went away - $12k-$4k-$3k). I currently drive a 2010 Ford escape hybrid with 300k miles. I've been wanting to get a newer car (probably used, a few years old, 50k miles or less) and I can't commit to the outlander because of the cold start problem. I ski and ice climb, and often leave my car in -20f temps at trailheads. Or however cold it gets in CO/Montana/Canada. When are they going to fix this issue!!! Like, if there's a way to retrofit a fix Im desperate enough to do it myself!

Edit: I just read that the 2026 has battery preconditioning? So the cold start issue is fixed!?

Is it bad to keep new plumbing pressurized with air at 100psi?

Just finished rough in with pex, pressure tested at 100psi air over 24hrs, but actual rough in inspection won't happen for a while (months?) is it ok to leave the system pressurized at the testing pressure with air indefinitely?

Easiest way to remove romex from push in connectors?

I've always had trouble with this when I do panel change outs. There must be a trick to it without damaging the romex? Maybe a special tool I don't know about?

Want to know more about REX

This is the system at refuge NYC. I know it's all custom and the tops are vintage jbl horns. Wonder how much people might know about this setup. What alignments? F3? Drivers? XO? Are those kicks? Etc. or is it all secret?

J-B Weld "Pink-to-Natural" Wood Filler

Is J-B Weld "Pink-to-Natural" Wood Filler considered "structural"? It says it can be drilled and holds anchors!? Is it like an epoxy based wood filler?

How does it compare to dab plastic wood latex wood filler? Which also says would take anchors. Are they both the same thing?

Trying to understand if a working ground connection would have saved a faulty fan from causing house fire

Yesterday my neighbor's bath fan caught on fire and caused a fire in the attic. It didn't look too bad at first, but after the fire department is done, the whole place needs to be gutted - mostly from water damage.

Now im wondering, was this caused by a faulty ground or lack of ground?

If there was a good ground, current would have flowed through ground and exceed the breaker threshold and trip it before the fire starts?

If there was no ground, would current flow through neutral and also exceed breaker threshold and trip it and avoid a fire?

I'm just shocked because I have replaced so many old bath fans that have stopped working and they didn't burst into flames.

Are all fans ticking time bombs are was it just not installed properly? This fan was old, probably 20+ years old. And has been working. So my guess is it was a wiring fault, then it must have been an improper ground connection?

In addition, would GFCI protection have avoided this fire? Or afci? Or both?

Amps clipping way before I expect them to. But breaker didn't pop.

I have 4x crown XLS 2000 powering 4x 18tbw100-4 in 4 FLHs. Efficiency should be above 100db/w per cab. Each amp bridged to one sub. All amps are on the same 120v circuit.

When "turned up" to the desired level (your typical EDM dance stack level), outdoors, the amps are clipping, a lot. At big drops, thermal protection on the amps kick in and stops for a few seconds. Assume low crest factor bass EDM.

Wouldn't the breaker pop if the amps are actually pumping out full power? Those 4 subs combined should handle "4000+W"?, which should pop the breaker way before I reach the power handling limit of the drivers? I'm not worried about excursion limits here, just thermal and why the amps are clipping so much yet the singular circuit breaker is not popping.

This was about a 4 hr session during the day. The sun did hit the front face of the sub cabs. And at the end I opened up one cab and found the magnet to be very hot to the touch. As in i can't touch it for more than a second. But no smoke, no smells, driver seems healthy?

I guess maybe I should ask, how should I check if the amps are actually putting out full power? (Which is NOT what I intended them to need to do, since the amps are oversized compared to the driver's power handling)

Can power compression (because the drivers got hot) have caused the clipping? I was told that the system was at "full blast" for about an hour before someone noticed the amps were constantly clipping. But they never "turned it up further" to compensate for the volume loss from power compression. I only arrived later to see why there was so much clipping.

Or is this a simple case of ..... I need to double the stack....? I mean, the 4 cabs add up to 10' x 5' x 2.5'. so it's a pretty substantial stack for maybe a 50'x60' listening space?

How to make iPad 4th gen ios10 useful again?

I'm new to apple ecosystem was given a iPad 4th gen with ios10. Would love to know how to install a browser that can actually display the modern internet. (Currently safari does ok on some sites, can't deal with most sites). YouTube? Spotify? Maybe twitter? That's about all I need. Obviously the current app store tells me every app needs iOS 15+. I assume I need to jailbreak/side load custom apps? Can someone point me to the right tutorial/instructions/videos please. Trying my best to not let this become e waste yet! Thanks!
