Upgraded Tiny Switch!
So after someone asked me, I finally realized that I could indeed fit the larger (and better) 16mm switches into the USB/AUX slot. Had to slightly shrink the icon, and reduce the label to one row of text, but overall it's a pretty big improvement given the benefits the 16mm switches offer over the old 12mm mini switch. Way better tactile feel, brighter, more even illumination, 5A rating vs 2A, and both an NO and NC circuit. Not to mention it now matches the switches offered on the other panels!

Proper Menu Navigation in VR Really Needs to Happen
It's been many, MANY years now since VR has been a thing. I realize it isn't like 95% of iRacing users are utilizing VR, but a lot of us are, and I really think it's time iRacing implemented proper VR menu navigation support.
It's not like this would be overly complicated and difficult. It would actually be stupid simple. Those of you who remember LFS (Live for Speed - the OG racing sim!)... they have had this sorted for many years. ALL you need is for a pair of crosshairs to display in the center of your screen when in menus, and then you can simply leverage ONE button on your controller as the left click button, and that's really ALL you need. It would save many of us the trouble of fumbling with a mouse while wearing a headset, or fumbling with one of those keyboard/mouse combo boards in a sim rig that doesn't have a good place for a separate mouse.

Is our stray cat using us to feed his pregnant mate?
I'll try to keep this short. We've been feeding this stray black cat for several years. We did originally try to trap him but he is WAY too cautious and skittish. Even 3 YEARS later, with him receiving a while can of food every morning, another while can every evening, having a heated hut I installed on our deck for the winter, and spending most of his time lounging in the immediate vicinity, he still refuses to let us touch him. Whatever. That's fine. He's still cute. I also don't blame him as we live in the forest preserves so we get tons of raccoons and packs of coyotes howling in our back yard every night.
Yesterday I fed him as usual but did a double take when I realized out of nowhere a smaller black cat had appeared, and he (typically hating the very presence of any creatures other than our own cats, who he tolerates), patiently let that cat eat his entire bowl of food. We had never seen this cat before. In the past 24 hours, however, it has been all over our deck, mostly with him in tow. We thought it was an older kitten as it's clearly MUCH younger and smaller, that he was maybe bringing around... but...
This morning the girlfriend fed that small cat a can, not seeing the big cat around. When I woke up later, I fed him as usual (sleeping on his own on our deck table), but before he even had two bites, that smaller cat appeared and barged in, and he just sat down and watched it eat the entire bowl. So I set out a second bowl which he ate, and then that cat finished his scraps too. While that smaller cat was sitting preening, I noticed... some nips. And NOW I'm wondering if that smaller cat isn't actually his mate, and given her ravenous hunger, and the way he treats her... is it possible she has some kittens on the way? Looking for thoughts & opinions (and yes, I'm aware they should be spayed and neutered ideally...)
I've strung three clips together in the attached video. The first 12 second clip of her coming in to eat his food, the second 45 second clip is when I discovered THEM NIPS, and the third showing some peculiar (to me) behavior where she was meowing like crazy and then he followed her under the bushes by the pool. (I know, I need to do some weed wacking, lol.)

[IIL] Similar Non-AI Music? What genre is this?
So this song came across my YouTube Supermix playlist. I looked into it and it is an AI generated song, but I feel guilty in how much I enjoy the beat. It's like... classical techno of some sorts. I'm hoping to get some recommendations for similar styles of music from actual human artists so I don't have to feel guilty listening to it... I'm not even sure what genre this would be considered. The listing says Industrial Techno, but that doesn't seem right... and searching that genre didn't quite work out.

Countertop Filter for AquaPurr
Hello everyone! Hoping for some help here. I just ordered an AquaPurr water dispenser for our cats which I intend to place next to the kitchen sink. However, this is replacing my current method of filling up a bowl with filtered city water from the fridge, so I'm looking for a solution for filtering the water that comes from this unit. For... reasons... I'm currently looking ONLY for a small countertop "pre-filter" that can sit next to the AquaPurr. The AquaPurr is fed via a 1/4" line that comes off a diverter valve that you connect to your faucet, so these systems, using similar methods, should be easy to connect up to it.
This is what the AquaPurr setup looks like.
I was about to pull the trigger on this specific unit from Waterdrop (because aesthetics do matter given where this will be placed), however I went down the rabbit hole of research and it doesn't seem that this has any good NSF ratings - or at least I assume it doesn't since I would assume they'd be front and center on the product page if it did. I realize these are "just" our cats, and while I'm sure this system will still be fine for them, does anyone know of a similar kind of mini filter system that has proper NSF ratings for removing all of the bad stuff from water? Struggling to find countertop units like these that are NOT seemingly from some overseas Chinese company that is very vague about their actual filter ratings...

Vitamin D; Heart Palpitations?
I know, I know, I could just go to the doctor and get ANOTHER blood test, but curious:
After YEARS of my Vitamin D levels being super low (like single digits low) I finally kind of crashed and as a result got off my ass and actually followed through on the script my doctor ordered for me: 50,000 IU once a week for 12 weeks.
I'm now up to 62 per my latest blood test... BUT I'm getting these weird random heart palpitations that I've never had before. They come and go randomly. Given the timing, and doing some Googling, I'm going to guess it's related to these massive doses of Vitamin D - maybe calcium buildup.
I'd read about magnesium to help prevent that, but since the doctor hadn't mentioned anything, I wound up just taking one 200 IU Magnesium supplement 2-3 times a week during this 12 week process, which in hindsight I'm thinking is probably a drop in the bucket compared to the 50,000 IU of D I was taking.
When I got my follow-up last week I didn't mention the palpitations (legitimately forgot), and so they ONLY ran a test for Vitamin D levels and NOTHING ELSE. Thinking of going back and getting a full panel again to see, but I'm curious... anyone else have this problem go away on its own after finishing their 50,000 IU Vitamin D regimen? I'm down to 1,000 IU of D a day now to maintain my levels, but tempted to just stop all supplements for a bit to see if the issue resolves. These copay amounts are starting to add up and thinking that might be the easiest way to confirm the correlation without doing YET ANOTHER blood panel.

Help me make a stupid decision: Aerostitch color.
I realize this is very much a "what color should I buy" post, which is entirely personal preference, but since I'm legitimately struggling to decide, I figured I'd ask the group for input in the hopes it might help me make up my mind.
We drove 7 hours to to Duluth today so that I could try on an Aerostitch suit in person. Love it. Want to buy one. Need to pick my color. I had originally made up my mind that I wanted a gray suit with the silver abrasion areas, but after trying on one of their iconic yellow suits, it grew on me, and even the girlfriend said she liked it. Yellow is obviously more visible and safer, but (and I realize this is entirely a form over function thing) it DOES get dirty over time, and frequent washing would degrade the waterproofing. It also benefits from being a lighter color that will stay cooler in the hot sun.
Barring the, "I wouldn't get either one because those suits are ugly," responses, if you HAD to choose between these two color schemes, which would you choose? The third photo is the reason I worry about going with yellow. FWIW I do have a bright silver helmet, and my bike has a lot of chrome (Kawasaki W800) so neither of those are murdered out black which helps with visibility.

Kept getting asked to do this and had some free time this weekend, so finally got around to making a variant of my customizable switch insert for the slightly smaller LOWER row of blanks. Decided it would look cooler if they sat vertically and poked out at the bottom, which makes them easier to see.

Random, Highly-Specific Smart PDU Question That I Assume Nobody Will be Able to Answer
I know this is a long shot, but figured maybe someone in here works with this stuff on the daily and knows what I need. I plan on reaching out to the company, but I know with this kind of stuff usually they aren't terribly helpful unless you've purchased from them and have a support account, etc.
I was gifted this extremely fancy, seemingly-new Smart PDU for my rack. It has the ability to do all sorts of cool monitoring stuff, except that the unit I have is one of the slave units. In the third picture you see a module with an RJ-12 port that allows connecting it to another unit. As I understand it, the master unit has a different module in this space that has an RJ-45 port for linking to the network and stuff. I've downloaded manuals and done some Googling, and I'm still unable to figure out whether or not it's possible to swap my "slave module" out for a "master module," and if so, what the part number of that master module would be so that I could try to track one down. It would be fun if I could use the smart monitoring functionality if it's that simple.
On the off chance someone knows something, please share your insight! Thanks!

Finally got around to installing SoloStorm. This is on an otherwise unused tablet. I connected my Google account to it just to get the app to register/license itself, but then deleted the Google account because we plan on using the tablet completely unlocked at events, and I don't want my stuff floating around freely-accessible. The app looks like it should probably work fine this way, BUT every time I return to the home screen it asks for me to select an email account (presumably because it's doing some sort of sync with the server.)
Does anyone know if there is a way to prevent it from doing that, just because it's a tiny bit annoying. I'm brand new to SoloStorm, so maybe I'm missing something obvious. Also are there any long-term issues with this? Like will it get mad eventually that it cannot sync with the server and cause license issues? I assume not since the license is perpetual, but, again, I'm new to this.

I'm repurposing a Tab S10 as a tablet for our kitchen (Home Assistant, Mealie, etc.), and right now I have it set up to wake on a double tap... but for whatever reason we find the double tap to be a tiny bit finicky (probably partially to do with how the tablet is mounted, and therefore how our fingers touch the screen, etc.)
Having said that, is there a way to cut that down to just a simple "touch to wake" option? Yes, I know you could press the power button, but I'm looking for us to just be able to wake the tablet with a single touch of the screen. I can't see to find any way to do that. Any ideas?
EDIT: Follow-up if that isn't possible... how bad is burn-in on these devices if I decide to just set the screen to always stay on?
