Synthpop (Mostly 80s)

Hey there, I've been working on this playlist on and off for at least a couple of years. I know it will probably never be complete, but I would love to add a few more gems. If you have some time, check it out and see if you notice any glaring omissions. TIA!

An Unexpected Feel Good Sequel Moment

So I was buying a bunch of stuff at Ollie's Bargain Outlet yesterday, and this book was part of my haul. As the cashier was ringing it up, a smile came to her face and she told me how much she loved Carrie Fisher. She then told me how much she loved The Rise of Skywalker and we both gushed about our favorite parts of the film. It was an IRL sequel appreciation moment and it was so refreshing. It's good to know we are not alone!

"I'm Falling" debut single by Dead or Alive

This was about 5 years before "You Spin Me Round". No shade at that huge track, but I like this one better.

Why Can't I Touch It? (2001 Remastered Version)

I was 10 when this came out, and didn't hear this track until I bought Singles Going Steady about 10 years after it was released. What was it like to hear this one at the time? Hearing it now it sounds so fresh and different.

One of my first Mix CDR

Going through some of my unorganized shelves, I found this. It was probably one of the first Mix CDRs I made when I finally succumbed to mp3 technology circa 2003 or so. At the time, I still had a tapedeck in my vehicle, but my wife had a CD player in her newer and nicer car.

Alex Lawther (Nemik) Appreciation Post

I recently watched The Imitation Game (2014) and it reminded me how great an actor Alex Lawther is. Made me want to rewatch Andor, of course.

GOD - "My Pal" (1987)

Australian band from the late 80s sounding very much like Seattle. I think these guys were like 16 when they recorded this.

First and only LP by this Riot Grrl Super Group (they did release an EP in 2000). One third of Sleater-Kinney (Corin Tucker) and two thirds of The Lookers (Sarah Dougher and sts). I forgot how much I loved this one!

I had never heard of Michael Yonkers until De Stilj Records released this album in the early 2000s. It had been recorded in 1968, but had never gotten a proper release. Worth a listen, if you've missed it all these years.
