What are the common reasons for an unexpectedly high yield?

My 4th Cielo extraction has given an unexpectedly high yield. I do not trust that it is accurate and am wondering if there might be any common errors that might lead to this?

How much excess fumaric acid would you have to add to have it show up in your product?

I suspect my issue, at least in part, was residual freebase in the reclaimed EA. I did a 50g run so my guess is the residual was just much more apparent. How much residual product are you seeing in your reclaimed EA?

Cielo fuck up

My dumbass didn't filter the EA from the powder then added fumaric before I realized my mistake. I'm guessing the alkaloids precipitated but is there a way to isolate it? Or is this just a waste?

First timer advice

Found this neglected big boy at a kid's birthday party and the owner was happy to part with it. There's only about 2 inches of highly organic soil at the base of this pot but the plant itself seems...fine? It's leggy but firm and there's new growth. Resilient. I'm experienced with cactus and but would appreciate any critiques about my careplan.

I'm planning to transplant to a 2 gallon fabric pot (kinda tight quarters but I read these guys like it snug) with the soil I use for my cactus (2/3 gravel/perlite/biochar, 1/3 potting soil/worm casings). Given that there's growth I'm planning to just let it be leggy for now, maybe prune in the spring? I'm going to feed it with my cactus using masterblend 4-18-38 and kelp on alternating weeks and just let it bake in the Florida sun. Are there any special needs that I'm not addressing? Any chance I could see flowers this year?

Grafted Althea multi bin, $35 shipped, $75 for all three

Althea pucks growing on rooted PC, outdoor grown so some minor blemishes, pups are 4-6" as shown and pumping. $35 each shipped bareroot, $75 for all 3.

Thought I was using sulfur, instead have been using Bifenthrin

What are the adverse effects? I use only rooting powder on cuts I'm propagating, this stuff has been for stumps, injuries and graft surfaces. These plants are not for consumption. For what it's worth I haven't noticed any ill effect on the plants but I guess I don't really have a basis of comparison

I feel like such a moron. It's not like I'm purely organic but I try to keep it as harmless as possible.

Need help with seedlings

I need help rescuing seedlings. First time growing from seed, followed takeout tek. I planted these November 2025, outdoor grown in indirect sun since then (except for a few cold nights inside). Grew well initially but seems to have stalled. There's about 1.5cm of substrate. I bottom water/feed once a week. They aren't fully hardened yet. What do I do next?

Mid-day notchiness

Between work and travel it's been a minute since I saw my plants at midday, forgot how beautiful those deep notches are. Show me the favs from your garden.

Calling "fives" when you got up from a seat but intended to return shortly

Was that a thing everywhere? I first remember it from college, but when I came back home everyone from other colleges understood it as well, so it had to be at least moderately widespread. I don't remember it as a trend, it felt more like an established social convention.

ISO Len or John crosses

Althea puck on rooted PC. Outdoor grown. 12" from soil line, 4" pup, lots of areoles. I have several similar grafts and am willing to trade multiples for the right plants.

ISO Len crosses and John crosses. Also willing to consider a big or mutant myrtillo.

Need a few days for the roots to dry

ISO crests

Sharxx blue on rooted grandii, outdoor grown, 16" from soil line, 13" scion, shipped bare root. ISO crested trich (except bridgesii), but not the "brainy" look. Would also consider fat pure scop or large Myrtillo (crested preferred). If you have something else interesting let me see it.

$40 + calculated shipping if just going the cash route.

Will need a few days for roots to dry.

Serious questions about boofing

I'm asking sincere questions about rectal administration of mescaline fumarate. So much here is a joke that it's tough to know what is truthful, so serious answers please.

  1. Does it reduce nausea, vomiting and other gastric distress?

  1. Is the onset decreased and by how much?

  1. Do you require a lower dose for the same effect?

  1. Is the duration decreased and by how much?

  1. Are there any other notable differences from oral administration?

  1. What is the preferred technique?

Self graft to get rid of etiolated section?

I've got a few plants grown from cuttings with some degree of etiolation. This doesn't bother me asthetically, however unless they're almost perfectly vertical they develop a bend in that area. Some have flopped and I've been able to get them more or less vertical again, others have broken with resulting damage to the tip. I'm looking for anyone that has excised the etiolated section, matched thickness between the base and the tip and grafted the plant to itself. Is the resulting bond stronger than the etiolated section, or am I better off leaving it be? I don't want to splint them (unless it's temporary). These aren't plants I'm looking to propagate right now, the number of plants I have is already notable to the lay person and I'm trying hard not to cross into weird.

Music recs

Can someone remind me of Jason's music recs from the last looks episode please? Dude has solid tastes across all media, when he mentioned Boards of Canada I knew I had to check out the rest but promptly forgot who else he mentioned. I remember Alice something, I thought Alice Merton but she doesn't have anything new I can find. Much appreciated!

Can I repot into a smaller pot without damaging the plant? And what to do with out of control aerial roots?

So a few years ago I came into several monstera that I dreamed of turning into big towering beasts. I did not do enough research. I put them in very large pots (20-30 gallons, I would guess) and tied them to some cheap moss poles off Amazon. I put them in a partial shade area on my lanai and... kinda got distracted by other projects. They seem to have grown robustly despite my benign neglect but they just pulled the moss poles down and are sprawling. My problem is they now occupy probably 100+ft2 and have extensive aerial roots into my pavers and other pots. I'd like to make sturdier moss poles and put them into smaller pots in order to get vertical growth and reclaim some of my lanai, but I'm afraid of damaging what appear to be healthy, thriving, beautiful plants. Is this possible? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Anyone successfully vermicompost here? I'm way too sandy to do it in the ground and I worry that the heat will be an issue with any enclosed system
