Alternative to Posca markers?

Recently, I've been mixing spray paint, acrylics, pen and acrylic ink, and Posca markers. It's been a lot of fun working in such different media that can be layered and interworked in ways I just hadn't experienced before.

My current beef, however, is with acrylic paint markers like Posca. The colors, at least those in the 24 pack I got, are washed out, like they're all mixed with white for opaqueness. They're inconsistent, finicky and limited in line variation. They have a lot of potential, but I'm just never as happy with the mark making as I am with other media.

What I want is something like an acrylic crayon. Is there anything like that that plays well with acrylics?

Wax Crayons, oil pastels and soft pastels all have binders that simply won't work with acrylics except as a final layer. I know that acrylics probably dry too quickly to work as something as soft as an oil pastel, but I hope there's something else I can use.

The bat enemies in the first area are ruining this game for me.

update

Wow guys, this helped a lot. They are so much easier to handle with all this advice. To anyone else who struggles with them, here's what I learned:

Turn Always Sprint on (I didn't know it was a thing)

Shoot them out of their charges when they turn orange (huge help)

They have an audio cue

Better to back away and shoot them than run and try to reposition

This has made their encounters a lot easier to deal with. Thank you all!

I made it to the second phase of the first boss and opened up a good bit of the upgrade in my third run. The game was awesome. I was having fun. Then, after I died, the game seemed to be annoyed with my rapid progress, and upped the difficulty tremendously. I recognize that I probably just had good rng that time.

So, the game got harder. Fine, I'll get better, and I did. The rooms with 10+ hostiles? Sure. The red guys and the green guys with bullet streams that seem to be designed to catch me between dodges? Fine. I'm a souls vet. I can handle some bullshit.

Buy these fucking bats...

Getting 20% of my health knocked off by these guys every time they do their charge attack from off screen is more than I know how to deal with. The mini map doesn't help, because these attacks typically happen when I'm sprinting around trying to stay out of the fray. They tend to have a full clip's worth of health, which means if I miss, they get another shot at me while I'm repositioning. They seem to be as fast as me, so I can't even run away from them, without getting dive-bombed from off screen. Wtf is this shit? Their only tell seems to be glowing orange, but again, that doesn't help me when they're off screen.

If there is something I'm missing, some way of knowing when I am about to be attacked by something off screen, that would be really great to know.

Sorry for the bitchiness, but I haven't gone from having a blast to being sick of a game this quickly in a long time.

How to preserve and display about 2500 3"x4" drawings.

Ever since my kid (they/them) started school, I've been making little motivational and mostly just fun drawings to put in their lunchbox every day. There are boxes of them, I estimate around 2400 give or take. They're 3 inches wide by 4 inches tall, and all of them have a message, usually just "have a wonderful day", on the back that don't need to be accessible, but it would be nice in some cases.

They just graduated from college and I want to put the notes together for them to take to school as a reminder that I love them.

I came to scrapbooking, because I feel like there is a lot of potential for something more than just a photo album.

So, what's a good purchase here. I am pretty crafty, and I have xacto knives, four kinds of tape and three kinds of glue, but I wouldn't know one scrapbook from another. Any tips on what to buy for a large project like this? I know it will probably take up several scrapbooks in the end, but a start is all I'm asking for. Also, are there any unique tools that I might not have on hand?

Thanks!

Oh yeah, it doesn't need to be all 2400 or whatever. But I have a lot to choose from and I want to at least use hundreds.

I hate I hate I hate hate hate the summers in North Carolina.

I would live somewhere cold and cozy if I could, but that isn't an option. I'm stuck here in a state that's pretty great 75% of the time, and absolutely miserable all summer. It ain't even summer yet! Shit, I hate the late spring too!

I hate when corporations try to get me to engage with their brand

No, I won't download your app

No, I won't put your bumper sticker on my car (looking at you Yeti weirdos)

No, I won't give you my email

No, I won't follow you on social media

And please stop asking me to rate your employees.

Shut up, give me my cheeseburger and leave me the fuck alone.

[other] For those of you you like zeldalikes, Pragmata might be worth a look

Intriguing level design ✔️

Array of weapons that do more than just cause damage ✔️

Twisty dungeon design that requires puzzle and problem solving ✔️

Blue fairy that tells you what to do✔️

Tools that unlock previously inaccessible areas✔️

It's been a lot of fun so far (15hrs) and I think it might appeal to other LoZ fans

Anyone else think it sucks that our fellow tall boys don't stock tall sizes?

I would love to sport some mythical duds, but nobody wants to see my fat ass in a belly shirt.

Children of Strife is the most fun I've had since Children of Time.

I don't mean just in the series, either. I don't want to spoil anything, partially because you should go into it blind, if you can, but also because I'm not sure I could adequately describe any single moment in the book.

It's a 10/10 for me. I'm not a book reviewer, so who cares what my opinion is, but there it is. If you have kept up with the series, you're probably already going to read it, if you haven't, you should.

A U.K. designer made this phone case to reduce screen time. The terrarium plants will only survive if you put your screen down.

Looking for single player action games with more DOTs

One of my favorite classes in WoW was the affliction Warlock. I just liked seeing one mob die of some damage over time spell while I killed another with shadow bolts. Lots of turn -based rpgs have dots, and lots of rpgs let you use poison, etc, but few of them ever feel as powerful as my Warlock.

Are there any action games, or action rpgs that really let you lean into the dots, and control the battlefield with miasma and fire?

I play on PS5, Series X and Switch

Thanks.

Added Six more Gnomes to my growing whittle family.

If I could make a living making these little guys, I would spend the rest of my life doing so.

I've been whittling for about a year now and I've tried a couple gnomes before, but this is the first one that I'm really happy with. He's about 2.5 inches tall and carved from bass wood.
