TV suggestions

Hey everyone,

Looking to buy a 55-inch TV in the ₹50,000–₹80,000 range and I'm torn between QLED and Mini-LED options. Use case is pretty mixed — OTT (Netflix, Prime, Disney+), casual gaming, sports, and some movies.

A few things I'm trying to figure out:

  1. Is Mini-LED worth the premium over QLED at this budget, or does the value proposition not hold up below ₹80K?

  2. Samsung QLED (Q70D/Q80D) vs TCL C655/C755 (Mini-LED) — which would you pick for this price range? Open to other brands too (Hisense, LG, Sony if they fit).

  3. Local dimming quality matters a lot to me for dark room movie watching — how significant is the blooming issue on budget Mini-LEDs?

  4. Any known panel lottery issues with specific models I should watch out for?

Not a hardcore gamer, so 144Hz isn't a must — but decent input lag and good motion handling for sports would be great. Google TV or Tizen, I'm fine with either.

Room gets moderate ambient light during the day. Would prefer to buy from a retailer with a solid return/exchange policy (Reliance Digital, Croma, or Flipkart Assured).

Any personal experience with these TVs from fellow Indians would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

why is getting on a bus in kerala basically a survival game 💀

okay so yesterday i took the bus from calicut (kozhikode for the formal people lol) and bro i genuinely stood there for a second just watching what happened and i felt something
like the bus hadn’t even fully stopped and people were already pushing from the sides. എടാാാാ.. the door wasn’t even open properly. and i get it, i really do - seats are limited, everyone’s tired, everyone wants to sit. i’m not here to act like i’ve never done it. but standing there i was like.. is this actually how we do things?

the classic one - bus comes, there’s literally a queue, and then one uncle just casually walks from the side and gets in first. exact side entry. bro acted like the line was decoration.
school kids literally sprinting and jumping in through the window area near the door. i mean the energy is there i guess but cmon da

that one moment where the conductor is yelling “ivde oru football kallikaan ulla sthalam undallo” and nobody moves because everyone wants the front seats specifically. we’d rather stand at the door than walk 4 steps inside 💀

And the thing is - i’m not blaming anyone specifically. like genuinely, when you’ve been standing in the heat for 20 mins and the bus finally comes, your brain goes into full “adipoli, ente seat” mode and civic sense just.. logs off temporarily
so here’s what i actually want to say - next time you’re at a bus stop, tell your friend standing next to you “da, line nilkku.” that’s it. just say it. tell your parents, tell your cousins, tell that one tharavad uncle who thinks rules don’t apply to him specifically. and honestly tell yourself too. because i had to check myself too ngl
we’re not gonna fix kerala’s bus culture in one post obviously but if even like 3 people read this and think about it for 2 seconds that’s enough for me. if you have your own bus chaos stories DROP THEM BELOW i know you all have them 😭
