My birth mom contacted me after 12 years (I was 8 when I got out into foster care). To provide context, last week she told me she was going to the doctor every day and my phone kept loosing connection. This was what came from it.

Played Super Metroid for the first time...

I refuse to accept the baby Metroid's death so now it is her child forever. I drew this to be in denial

RIP baby Metroid. Your sacrifice will be remembered. 😭

Ruby and Carla relationship

I know it has been a while, but I really hated Ruby and Carla's relationship. She always called her bio mom her "real mom." As someone who has been adopted and is somewhat in contact with my bio and adopted mom, I would consider both of them "real mom."

Sure, some people, especially foster kids, consider their bio mom their "real mom," but Carla had been her mom since Ruby was a baby. She is as real as anybody gets

It is... Just weird. Yes, I do think it was a good idea to explore, to find out why, but this always bugged me

Why is Ruby so hated?

She's a kid, looking after a kid (for the most part). I saw someone call her a narcissist, but when has she had something all to herself?

Yeah, it is reoccurring, but she isn't really in the wrong, and when she is wrong, it isn't like she really has parents to tell her to chill (at least in the early seasons).

She's a kid too, not much older than Max, so why is she put to a different MUCH MICH higher standard than the other kid in the house?

After summer rejection from stepson

My stepson started school yesterday after 2 months of summer. He had one of those "get to know me" papers. Under "who do you live with" he put his mom, not the people he lived with and will live with until next summer, not his sister, his father, or me. Hell, he didn't even put his sister on his mom's side. He has also stated multiple times and not in anger he hates it here.

He's 11 and there is a clearly preferred parent, even though she lives 5 hours away. She calls all the time and whatnot.

Point is, I feel so rejected. I am a stay at home mom both for him and his younger sister on his dad's side (my daughter) and it feels as if no matter what I do, his father and I are nothing.

His mom and dad had never been married and the whole point of this was because his mom needed him to start behaving before he went back to his mom's (she won't discipline him). It just adds to the rejection.

And his father and I had tried to make it a really good summer. We also are stable (have a house and a car), whereas his mom doesn't, but somehow she is still preferred.

Why does he feel the need to deny it? I can't ask him because he will tell his mom and his mom yells at the husband and I.

t-minuns a week until Middle School, looking for movies

Now that my stepson is entering middle school, I know it will be a tough time, but there will also be very good moments. No matter what, people are around for him. I let him watch Worst Years of my Life. What else should I let him watch?

I would let him watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but he idolizes book Greg, and I don't want to turn it into a lecture.

Regretting Prestige

I hit level 55 for the first time last night and prestieged. I kinda regret it right now. Do others have this issue? Is there something I am not realizing that makes this cool? What are the real benefits of prestiging?

How do I trust Nexoplanon again?

I had nexoplanon for 2 years when I started taking 20 mg of topamate. 6 months later, I got off of it and the doc said in 2- 3 weeks I can go back to not using condoms in my marriage. So I waited. Week 3, I got my first period since I started nexoplanon, so I waited longer just in case.

It has now been a month since the period and a half, no further bleeding. A little longer since I took the last doge of topamate. Can I fully trust it again?

I get it changed out in November

How to ever go back to fully trusting my nexoplanon?

I had nexoplanon for 2 years and I didn't have a single worry (let my husband go without backup or taking any precautions) until I took topamate. Now that it's over, I had a three week period.

My doctor told me to trust it again, but it's so hard to. How??

Growling???

My daughter (2 years old) has started growling at me when I ask her to do something. She got it from her brother, and I have already told him about it and stop doing it because his sister is mimicking the behavior. She will still do as I ask, but it is just weird and feels like I have two preteens in the house.

The 11 year old does it when he is trying to stop himself from yelling or cursing me out (whole other problem that stims from the fact I enforce the rules and his mom doesn't. Not the issue I'm asking about. I wish she would stop mimicking her brother fully.) it's a low back of the throat sound. I don't know what else to call it.

I don't know what to do or if I am overreacting

Arm implant and Topamate/Wengovy

I just got off 25mg of topamate and 2.7 mg Wengovy 2-3 weeks ago and now I am having the first period I have had in almost 3 years. Before the meds, I let my husband finish in me, but not during or for 2-3 weeks after getting off.

Well, it's been 2-3 weeks, and I am having a period. I am freaking out and I just want my body to go back to normal. No periods, no weight loss meds, and having a great time with the husband... When will that be? What is y'all's experience with this combination?

Not sure if it's the right tag, first time posting

2 year old and talking

I have a 2-year-old, and she talks sometimes, but I notice she talks more often when I am not around, or she is not home. It is hard for me to know what she knows. However, I am a stay-at-home mom and don't often go places. Beyond other things I am doing (talking, flashcards, etc), what else should I do to get her to talk more?

She did have a speech class, but it went out of business. I know I needed speech as a kid, and there are still words I have trouble with as an adult.
