Is it white opal or boulder opal?

Found this old pendant at local market with an Australian opal. Removed the stone from the pendant, cleaned it up and set it into a sterling silver ring. Great play of color with greens, golds, pinks and oranges. It has quite a few brown veins going through the rock, which gives it a really organic feel. I'm wondering if this is considered white opal or boulder opal?

Opal pendant to ring

Found this white Australian opal at local market set as an old pendant. Cleaned it up after removing from the setting and set it into a sterling silver ring. It's nice and big and has great play of color with flashes of gold green pinks and oranges. But what I love most is the brown veins that go through the stone that give it a really organic look.

Puffy culprit!

One UI 8 update screwed up my trusty and loved Galaxy watch 4 classic. Like many others here I was having hideous battery drain and the watch would charge wat to fast to be reality. Then it would totally kink out after 10 minutes. I tried everything.. cache clearing, multiple resets and even tried to reflash the rom. All to no avail as the battery would just die.

So bought a couple new batteries, guessing that the watch battery has to be the culprit. Opened up my watch 4 classic to inspect the batter and low and behold - a super spicy pillow!

After installing the new battery, I reflashed to OneUI 8 rom successfully with Odin, set up again on my phone and placed on the charger. It seems to be charging now at the proper pace. Will take it through its paces, but feel pretty confident that it's fixed (after seeing that puffed out battery).

For those experiencing rapid battery drain and charging issues, this could be a solution.

I love my Tropical Garden.

I live in New Taipei in a great 6th floor walk up and have a great apartment with a great landlord and great rent. I spend a lot of time gardening and find it really therapeutic. I just added a kumquat tree and the garden is in full bloom. I feel it's so important to be surrounded by greenery when living in Taipei.

Not sure of the underlying metal

This ring was brass plated and I polished it back to the bare metal which is a silver color. Its not as warm as what I would expect sterling sliver to be and the ring has nor silver hall marks. I'm guessing its probably steel. Is it possible to electroplate silver onto steel, or should I do a nickel strike beforehand?

My Amazonite Chunky

I found this piece of feldspar Amazonite at my local jade market and lapped it into a cushion cabochon to put into a sterling silver ring I had. Such a wonderful teal/aqua color with a glowing opaqueness.

Blue ammonite

I'm obsessed! Never saw blue ammonite before. Set into a ring and it's ablaze with blues and purples.

Today's rings

Made two rings today. Made a cabachon from a cherry blood amber bead from Buddhist bracelet and set into round setting. Also set a beautiful blue purple amolite cabachon into sterling silver setting.

Mr. Mojo is 18 now! From kitten to 18. Some of my fav pics.

My best buddy. Found half blind in the street as a scrap of black covered in fleas. But with such a personality and zest for life. A curious teen to a mellowed out, affectionate elder. Still regal despite all the gray hairs.

Pixel watch with full metal case. I like it!

I bought the silver Suplink full metal case for my pixel watch 1. Sanded it a tad to dull down the shine and add more texture to the front bezel (AP Royal Oak vibe) and added a better clasp that I had lying around. Very happy with it and the watch fits well.

Hack for thickening sidewalls?

I previously had some 26 x 4.0 Schwalbe Snakeskin tires on my fatty and they were great and light for my purpose of everyday commuting on mainly asphalt roads. They wore thin and I replaced them with a much heavier tire, but the rolling is terrible and they make my bike way more difficult to ride.

The original Snakeskin (now braded as Super Ground) tires I had are impossible to get where I live , but I can get Schwalbe Liteskin tires pretty cheap. However they have much thinner sidewalls than the Snakeskins. I am running tubes, so I am concerned about punctures.

What I'm wondering is if there is any hack that can be used to thicken the sidewall of the Liteskin tires. Perhaps painting the inner tire with some kind of liquid rubber/ urethane / silicone sealant? Or maybe use some layers of Gorilla tape inside the tire?

Wondering of there are any workable (hopefully long term) solution or hacks that someone has successfully used.
