Pocket doors are in a state of disrepair. One of the doors is off its track and will need to remove the molding around the door to fix the door completely. Looking for recommendations for restoration / fixing services. I live in Carrol gardens. Thanks in advance!

Previous tenant vented two dryers through the house, ceiling, and out of the skylight. It looks awful but I guess I get why he did it, but also not really. Could've just put the laundry room in a different room with windows... anyway, how would you handle repairing the damage? Any ideas? and sorry you had to look at this monstrosity. Previous tenant installed and vented two dryers (one on 2nd floor, one on 4th) through the house, ceiling, and out into the skylight. It looks awful and it leaks when it rains. My tenants on the first floor said their half bath had a leak from the ceiling so I called the pros over at Vigilante Plumbing. I live in Brooklyn, NY in an old brownstone. They come over and put the bags on their boots and start diagnosing. We run the shower that drains directly above the half bath and the sink and go all the way up to the third and fourth floors too to see if the water is overflowing anywhere in a shower/ sink and that's what's causing the leak. After we fill up pretty much every pipe above the first floor half bath and can't identify any leak we're all a little confused- where is the water the tenants are referencing? I noticed dampness, but we can't seem to find the active leak they're reporting. Eventually, the guys at Vigilante Plumbing decide that it must have been condensation in the morning when you're taking a hot shower that must be dripping through the access panel in the ceiling. They said I just need to buy some insulation to absorb any condensation that falls. I say oh okay I guess that makes sense. And then I pay them and they leave. I'm writing this for two reasons:
4th floor, at the top of the stairs in an old brownstone is a kitchen. To enter the kitchen you have to take a step up of about 1.5 inches.
I don't love how the kitchen floor is not all one height so I'm wondering how it's typically done- thanks!

W/D is on the 4th floor of old brownstone in kitchen and I pulled it out from the wall because I saw a mouse scurry in the kitchen and want to mouse-proof my apartment and found a huge hole in the wall. I want to try and install lath and plaster a new wall corner to begin sealing out mice.

Should I attempt to plaster and put in lath?
Is it common for lath to just stop halfway through a wall if there's plumbing behind it? There is no stud on the far side of the wall for the lath to be drilled into.
Could the mice family be behind the wall?
If i should go through with this, any advice on my situation? I've never done it b4.
