Some of the issues men face

I've seen a lot of people's experiences although recently, I heard something that I thought I had to mention 1st. At a young age, men are told to "suck it up" making them more self reliant. Being self reliant is a good thing although because of this, men start developing the "figure it out yourself" mentality which is why you can often hear the men's silent depression kind of news.

The problem I'm trying to point out isn't just the men's mental health issues but the fact that compared to how people treat men, women are given things much easier earlier on in life allowing women to be independent but still open when they need help.

Another thing brought up in the news I saw was how at a young age, we are shown by parents to always respect women. As the men in this world grow, they can find relationships but normally it's the man's family who is so accepting. In most relationships it's the woman's family that's so unaccepting. Now, sure, it makes sense why the woman's family would be so unaccepting, if the woman chooses the wrong choices with him, both parties to pay with a lifetime just to take care of a baby. The issue with this is how it can affect the man's form of thinking, they could think that women are the most important people and are above men. If you actually look at how the man's family acts, normally they act more friendly to the woman to their own son just because they don't want the woman to walk off. Of course, it's more common to just make men more kindly towards women compared to men. A cause this could also make is making men give more attention to women to the point they'll get more curious about women which can sometimes lead to the men who women complain about (people complain about these kinds of men because they are the reason women are forced to have a dress code in school) (this is still a common outcome as men are normally more into figuring out new things because of the "figure it out yourself mentality")

Because of all of this I found a main problem throughout life, ever since we were born, both genders were treated differently and it doesn't just end there, it continues throughout life, even within dating. This is the whole reason obsessions towards women are made, this is why men sometimes try to spice a friendship between them and a female up.

The 2 problems:

Problem 1 - Men are made to act too self reliant faster within life to the point they get the specific mentality which then makes them unwanting to get others help

Problem 2 - Men are raised to act like women are superior and everything

The strive for the equality for men!

Sure, this subreddit has been quite... Absent recently, although, I will reassure all my members that this community will continue! Men are targets of SA as well, men are stereotyped to hide emotions compared to sharing emotion, and men are definitely the targets of prejudice. Some might say that the men pointing this out after feminism began are just the few men trying to grab attention but guess what! Men also had problems just like men and if you didn't know the statement feminism is for everyone doesn't actually work in practice because it's specifically focusing on women's rights to the point they kept on accidentally taking some of the men's rights while protesting which are actually fair! So this community is needed until the equality for men is in movement as well!

If you want to support this movement, go ahead! Feminism is about helping women's rights while masculinism is about helping men's rights, together the world can obtain equality, so I do suggest helping this community grow.

Queensland University of Technology scholarships!

As stated here, one of the biggest universities in Australia has a scholarship specifically designed for women and you barely need to put in any effort to apply! Sure, it's aimed at equality in the STEM workforce, but what about female-dominated industries? QUT offers nursing alongside many other programs, but none of them come with scholarships specifically for men. What's equal about that? Now, I don't want to blame QUT. They're an amazing university and genuinely open-minded regarding diversity, so I think the real responsibility lies with society. The root issue might be that people feel uncomfortable working around another gender when the ratio is heavily skewed. From my point of view, that's a valid concern. However, society has made women the primary focus instead of addressing gender imbalances across both sides. Even though medical fields are female-dominated, you see far fewer scholarships for men. And when a male-focused scholarship does exist, it's often at a less prestigious institution that might not offer the same level of education as a top-tier school like QUT.

We have to fight for the future we want

you heard it yourself here! Feminism is fighting for women's rights and is NOT about making both genders equal! If anything leaving that party to roam around freely could make a matriarchy instead of an equal world! If we want to make sure this world is equal for men and women, the men need to fight for rights as well! So, join our community and fight for men's rights while feminism fights for women's rights so we can finally reach an equal world!!!

The alternative for conscriptions (suggestions)

So, recently I was wondering about some of men's inequalities in life and then remembered some situations such as what happened in South Korea (they removed a military perk because they thought it was gender discriminatory just because men are forced to serve in the army). Of course, the South Korean people could just add the perk back although, if feminism points the perk out again in the future, they could try and strip the perk away again. Because of this, I was wondering, why don't we just make a new conscription system? Some people are probably against conscriptions but seeing as the Korean war is technically ongoing, they need the conscription to remain. After wondering about a system that is both beneficial and non gender specific so the law can't argue that the perks are gender discriminatory, I came down to one solution. If you fail to find a university or college to attend in a 5 year time span after high school, you can get conscripted regardless of gender although, if you fail to get into a university or college but if you got a job that can sustain your life within that time span of 5 years then you will not be conscripted.

Child support laws

They don't favour the parents and it is a myth. One thing about this I do dislike is how some mothers try to take over most of the child's time from their fathers without the father's approval which is just sad(these families are known to break up all the time). The fact that some mothers intentionally separate their child from making a relationship with the father is sad but also makes some people wonder if some women have kids just for child support and then rig the child's relationship with the kid to rig the courts favour. Some women would even go as far as to keep their kids away from the father till they start arguing and then use that in court stating that arguing in front of the kid is not helpful for the kid in the long run which is just unfair in my opinion. Even though this seems like something that can't be helped, I thought it's important for others to know that the trial isn't normally favoured, it's just that most mothers try to rig the trial into their favour.

Why are most feminists against masculinism?

So, recently, I realised the phrase "feminism is for everyone" was just to manipulate men to encourage feminism as well. Sure what I said might have sounded rude although I've found out some stuff feminism did to make inequalities for men. When I realised this I figured, ok, feminism is obviously not for everyone! I'll just make a masculinism community. When I showed this community to feminists, they all said, and I quote "women have been fighting for rights for years now and apparently we're the bad guys?!" And another quote "what are these precious rights women stole from men?" Once I explained my case, they said stuff such as"those laws were pretty much against women" which another community full of feminists said the opposite, where they were on my side in this political argument. In the end that one server at the start was against masculinism, of course I didn't care because they were the same people justifying misandry when they were against black people hating on white people for historical reasons. Even though I don't care about that community, I want to know why feminists are against masculinism? They both aim for equality for both genders which will eventually make this world more equal!

Experimental Evidence Consistently Shows That Society Finds Harm Directed at Men and Boys More Tolerable Than Harm Directed at Women and Girls

An experiment was conducted where researchers asked participants if they’d rather sacrifice the life of a male bystander or female bystander for the greater good. 88% chose to sacrifice the male bystander, with the participant’s gender having no significant impact on this decision (2-3/10).

“Moral Chivalry: Gender and Harm Sensitivity Predict Costly Altruism” (2016) https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.1177/1948550616647448?download=true (10 pages)

Co-author Dean Mobbs, professor of cognitive neuroscience at CalTech (and formerly an assistant professor of psychology at Columbia University), was quoted saying, "There is indeed a gender bias in these matters: society perceives harming women as more morally unacceptable”.

A separate study found that people in general are more willing to endorse interventions that cause instrumental harm, or harm in the name of the greater good, to men than they are to women (9/13), with women and feminists endorsing those interventions even more (7-8/13).

“Worth the Risk? Greater Acceptance of Instrumental Harm Befalling Men than Women” (2023) https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10022566/pdf/10508_2023_Article_2571.pdf (13 pages)

https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s10508-023-02571-0.pdf (same study, different link)

Co-author Tania Reynolds, an assistant professor at the the University of New Mexico, provided her thoughts on why feminists more readily endorsed IH against men, saying, “Perhaps people who identify as feminists or egalitarians perceive men to have benefited throughout history, and therefore they now evaluate it as fair if men suffer and women gain an advantage”.

One of the major explanations for why we’re more sensitive to harm befalling women is Moral Typecasting Theory where we instinctively stereotype men as agentic perpetrators of harm and women as passive victims of harm. Participants in the following study (n = 3,137) found the issues faced by female victims to be more compelling than those exact same issues faced by male victims while judging more harshly those who victimized women than those who victimized men (15/22).

“Man up and take it: Gender bias in moral typecasting” (2020) https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Tania-Reynolds/publication/342642686_Man_up_and_take_it_Gender_bias_in_moral_typecasting/links/5f46bfa5a6fdcc14c5c755e6/Man-up-and-take-it-Gender-bias-in-moral-typecasting.pdf (22 pages)

Same study, different link: https://iswmatters.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Reynoldsetal2020-GenderBiasMoralTypecasting.pdf

These findings were replicated with a sample of children (3/8).

Grigoreva, A. D., & Tasimi, A. (2025). Children’s gendered expectations of moral parties. Scientific Reports, 15(1). https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-025-94375-6.pdf (8 pages)

Other explanations can be found here:

The womb is the limiting factor to reproduction in societies, making women more reproductively valuable, so it made sense for societies to preserve women while treating men as more expendable (2/10). Another reason being that we stereotype men as agentic perpetrators of harm and women as passive (non-agentic) victims of harm (Moral Typecasting), and are thus more sensitive to women’s suffering (3-4/10).

“A feminine advantage in the domain of harm: a review and path forward” (2024) https://royalsocietypublishing.org/rsbl/article/20/11/20240381/63537/A-feminine-advantage-in-the-domain-of-harm-a (10 pages, PDF inside)

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11557237/pdf/rsbl.2024.0381.pdf (study in pdf form)

A separate paper on why we prioritize women’s survival: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/362241567_Societies_also_prioritize_female_survival

This reluctance to expose women to harm was replicated in two back-to-back studies (published in 2021 and 2022), where it was found that both male and female participants respond more positively to female-favoring sex differences in (unbeknownst to them, fabricated) research and less positively to male-favoring sex differences, characterizing the latter as sexist and upsetting (7/23). Both male and female participants incorrectly predicted that men would react more positively to male-favoring research (4,10/23), underestimating how protective men generally are of women, with the study reading: “participants overestimated the extent to which people would be biased in favour of their own sex, with women overestimating men’s ingroup bias more than men overestimated women’s. These findings are consistent with the idea that both sexes are more protective of women than men, but that people tend not to be aware of this” (11/23).

“Reactions to male-favouring versus female- favouring sex differences” (2021) https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Steve-Stewart-Williams/publication/343169602_Reactions_to_male-favouring_versus_female-favouring_sex_differences_A_pre-registered_experiment_and_Southeast_Asian_replication/links/60ac500f92851ca9dce1e797/Reactions-to-male-favouring-versus-female-favouring-sex-differences-A-pre-registered-experiment-and-Southeast-Asian-replication.pdf (23 pages)

As with study 1, both male and female participants incorrectly predicted that men would favor male-favoring research over female-favoring research (7/12). As hypothesized by the authors, both men and women preferred the female-favoring research, consistent with the idea that people are more protective of women than men, far more so than they realize (8/12).

“People react more positively to female- than to male-favoring sex differences: A direct replication of a counterintuitive finding” (2022) https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article/file?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0266171&type=printable (12 pages)

2024 Follow-up: The harm hypothesis: How perceived harm to women shapes reactions to research on sex differences https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38168745/ (couldn’t find a PDF unfortunately)

We can see the results of this bias play out in the real world. Articles attesting to women’s superiority/men’s inferiority by mainstream outlets are abundant while articles pointing at an inverse are scarce/non-existent. This reflects a societal bias where positive generalizations are socially permissible for women and impermissible for men while negative generalizations are socially impermissible for women and permissible for men.

In a replication of the Milgram experiment, participants were three times more likely to withdraw when a woman was being zapped, irrespective of their own sex. (5/7)

Obedience in the Experimental Paradigm Developed by Stanley Milgram in the 50 Years Following the Original Studies” (2017) https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Michal-Folwarczny-3/publication/315065066_Would_You_Deliver_an_Electric_Shock_in_2015_Obedience_in_the_Experimental_Paradigm_Developed_by_Stanley_Milgram_in_the_50_Years_Following_the_Original_Studies/links/5c52b77992851c22a39d406d/Would-You-Deliver-an-Electric-Shock-in-2015-Obedience-in-the-Experimental-Paradigm-Developed-by-Stanley-Milgram-in-the-50-Years-Following-the-Original-Studies.pdf (7 pages)

Experimental evidence demonstrates that underperforming women are given better work reviews than equally underperforming men (6-7/13). What’s funny about this study is the emphasis on the harm this bias has on women.

They act like feminism is for everyone...

After the years the feminist community has made many terms to hate on men and later on made some women who didn't hate men at first to hate men by influencing them with misandristic thoughts! That subreddit in the image is stating that for women to gain rights, they need the men's approval and that one this is dragging the feminist movement down, and that's why the subreddit argues that "men are the problem" but the thing is, the courts aren't as misogynistic as feminists think. most of the courts would rule in favour for certain changes the feminists are talking about. The reason stuff like gender pay gaps exist isnt because of the law but the companies! For example, someone might be in the same position as you but they might get paid more because they have more experience or had a raise or 2. Later on they try to "fix" things by making some stuff inequal for men, so now I must ask, do you all seriously believe the BS of people saying feminism is for everyone?!

u/Substantial-Mouse855 — 1 month ago

Hot take, this subreddit is idiotic

(simplified with AI) Historical injustices do not justify modern hatred, and misandry is just as unacceptable as misogyny. Because today's generations did not personally experience or cause past oppression, it is illogical to hold entire races or genders collectively responsible for ancestral actions. Just as it would be wrong for a Black individual to mistreat all white people over history they didn't personally live through, it is equally wrong for women to mistreat men based on past sexism. Ultimately, since abuse happens across all demographics today, there is absolutely no valid excuse for prejudice from either side.

Original: I don't get it, just because men in the past were bad, women in the present who never even went through all those protests are made? I'm a black male but I'm not going to be rude to every white person! The reason I wouldn't is because I didnt go through all of that, I wasn't at the protests, and I wasn't there when black people formed some freedom!!! To be mad at an entirely different race or gender because of your ansistry is just stupid! So don't say you are being mad because men abused women for years, those women aren't all the women of today, but now, women and men are getting abuse by each other whenever. In the end I'm trying to say, misandry is not okay!!! If you try to validate misandry with history then you are just the worse scum every! At that point you are saying every black guy to insult you because of history but, that doesn't sound right, does it? In the end, if there's no valid reason to be misogynistic, there is no valid reason to be misandristic!

Misandry is not ok!

Recently, I was looking in a Reddit where misandry was being used by everyone and their reason of using misandry was because "men are always abusing women", the thing about this is how if I said the same thing to justify misogyny then I would probably get cancelled. Back when I was a teen a group of girls slapped me and hurt me but in the end, after I pushed them away once, I got in trouble with a one school (permanent record) and got sent to bsu (behaviour support unit). Even though they did stop picking on me after that, I wasn't using that as a reason to be misogynistic. I fully feel like the people being misandry and misogynistic are just completely out of line especially, if they use a reason like this to hate an entire gender.

An innocent man walked down the streets at night and got beaten up, sure this might have been a while ago but, the numbers haven't decreased either!

Source: source

date: Wednesday, March 15, 2017

LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A vicious beating on the Lower East Side was caught on camera, and now police say they have arrested one of the attackers.

A man was innocently walking when he was suddenly attacked by two suspects. [Ads /] They were relentless, punching and kicking the 24-year-old over and over again.

The video shows the brutal attack in the middle of the night on Friday. Two assailants stomping and kicking a man who was powerless to fight them off. The suspects then left him there splayed out on the sidewalk.

"It looked bad. It looked real bad. Because once the ambulance came, there was just blood all over the street. It was bad," said Chad David, an eyewitness.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. on Orchard between Rivington and Stanton in the heart of the Lower East Side.

Cops say the two attackers had chased the victim up Stanton, then caught up to him, and attacked. [Ads /] Police arrested 23-year-old Nawang Choying of Queens on Wednesday. He faces a charge of gang assault.

And as they hunt for another assailant, they also want to find a woman, who appeared to be with them or, at the very least, clearly witnessed it all.

"Late nights when they getting really drunk it's getting it's getting crazier," said Beka Peradze, a restaurant owner.

Meanwhile on this block teeming with bars, people who live and work there say late night mayhem is only getting worse.

"The neighborhood is getting crazy at night, especially on the weekends, because young generation people getting drunk and wasted," Peradze said.

"This is New York City so you're never not be amazed at what you're going to see," David said.

The victim is in serious condition at Bellevue Hospital.

Feminism can make mistakes too and that's why we need masculinism

Over the years we were to believe feminism was making everything equal for everyone but, the thing is, some of their decisions were in a females point of view! This changed laws creating some inequality for men! This is why masculinism exists! this campaign is made so the words abdicating for men's rights and arguing against some changes are heard so then we can find a suitable ending to the inequality conflicts!

u/Substantial-Mouse855 — 1 month ago

Join masculism!

Last time people were thinking this post wasnt understanding what feminism was for and so on but!!! This is just because most feminists are generally looking in the female perspective, this can cause certain inequalities. Because of the unfair inequalities feminism can make for men I thought the best idea is a ying and yang system. This is why I made the masculinism campaign which is called... r/New_Masculinism !!! This should make sure feminism won't accidentally make an inequality for the opposite gender when they protest for certain law to be added or to be taken down. Again, this isn't discrimination against feminism but it's really just to help make sure the goal of equality for both genders are met.

Join the campaign!

Sure feminism is for everyone but it mainly looks at discrimination again female, because of that, they made a few inequalities in this world's aswell. because of the new found inequality made by feminism I wish to make this new masculinism to help strive for equality. Pretty much making is so feminism can focus on equality for women while men focus on equality for men so eventually we can read an equal world. This is pretty much me making a yin and yang idea for a campaign. This will make sure certain inequalities won't be made by feminists and toxic feminists.
