Weird lore in mha involving cryptids

This is something drawn by horikoshi for an SJ event and depicts what seems to be a ningen (Japanese cryptid)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ningen_(folklore)

If this is a real event then izuku has found a cryptid and they exist within the world of mha

If this is a story izuku made up then he is interested in cryptids canonically (which lines up with school days, the LNs, because he was curious about a yeti creature they encountered in one chapter which turned out to be a robot but he was still intrigued by it)

If this is a dream, why would izuku be dreaming about cryptids?

ALSO

if this is a real encounter this is sort of a hint as to whether his horror one shot and MHA take place in the same world.

If you say so man.

Unicode mishandled in subtitles. It happens on web when the user doesn't have international character support enabled.

Question about throwback pomeranians as compared to smaller poms in the durability area

Are throwback poms more durable than regular poms? I know throwbacks are larger, but not much else about what's the same and what's different care wise.

An interesting detail which raises questions on the matter of wolfdogs created by a wolf and pomeranian mating.

Such a union, while rare, is possible and has occured before.

Sources:

From wikipedia:

"The first record of wolfdog breeding in Great Britain comes from the year 1766 when what is thought was a male wolf mated with a dog identified in the language of the day as a "Pomeranian", although it may have differed from the modern Pomeranian breed. The union resulted in a litter of nine pups."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfdog

From a web forum:

"been searching for this historical documentary for a while and finally found it. It is titled A Tour in Scotland 1769 by Thomas Pennant and in one chapter the author made mention of an extremely rare hybridization between a male gray wolf and female Pomeranian! I am tempted to take this information with salt but I also heard that since Poms were slightly larger back then, it is possible this was legitimate."

https://tamaskan-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=5232

From the book mentioned:

"I also saw here a dog the offspring of a Wolf and Pomeranian bitch. It had much the appearance of the first, was very good-natured, and sportive; but being slipped [let off leash] at a weak Deer it instantly brought the animal down and tore out its throat. This dog was bred by Mr. Book, animal-merchant in London, who told me that the congress between the wolf and bitch was immediate, and the produce at the litter was ten."

https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=vk8JAAAAQAAJ&pg=PA159&lpg=PA159&dq=thomas+pennant+pomeranian&hl=en#v=onepage&q=pomeranian&f=false

The question going forward:

Would it be ethical for such wolfdogs to be bred again nowadays since fox face and throwback pomeranians exist now? Fox face pomeranians and throwback poms are, from my understanding, an attempt to lessen the health issues pomeranians have.

Ultimately, it could lead to slightly smaller wolfdogs and also potentially healthier pomeranians going into the future if such an undertaking was to occur. The goal for ethical pom breeding is to do so in a way that lessens risk of poor health within the breed, and throwback as well as foxface pomeranians are already a step in the right direction on that. Dogs are better off being larger and having larger snouts because otherwise it causes breathing issues. Wolves being where dogs came from, have the longer snouts in question.

So i'm curious as to how the overall wellbeing of living creatures can be improved.

And don't misunderstand i'm not talking about breeding wild wolves to tiny poms or anything. I mean as in being selective about breeding. Such as with larger pomeranians that are also healthy/have less severe health issues such as throwbacks and fox faces, and wolves that are human raised and socialized. If managed correctly and critera for breeding was strict i can see it being ethical. Especially if also bred with other larger breeds.

Yes the behavioral issues are a factor, but wolfdogs are well, wolfdogs. Wolfdogs have percentages of wolf content and that content is managable. Wolfdog breeding is somewhat difficult, but i hear 25% content in wolfdogs is easier to manage than 50, so for example, if these hypothetical wolfdogs resulting from a pom and wolf union were then bred to 25% wolfdogs, and those were bred to lesser content wolfdogs, or large friendly domestic dog breeds (such as a collie or retriever) or throwback poms, etc.

Of course there could also be seperate locations where similar lines could be bred (pom-wolf, and the resulting wolfdogs) and then the wolfdogs that were bred from entirely seperate lines could remain pure with no risk of incest.

That kind of thing.

So there was a post about this and i thought i'd make a post about it regarding a fandom i'm in. How does bigotry get to the point where you comfortably share your space with these types of people? Also keep in mind that izuku is from a minority group (quirkless)

Homophobes and racists who like mha are hella weird

Insane lore reveal and basically confirmation of a theory about katsuki and izuku

So it's pretty much canon that katsuki was on the roof watching izuku leave in middle school so he could make sure izuku didn't actually jump. This is because canonically katsuki worries about izuku and for his safety. He even felt like dying seeing izuku almost die (notice how when he descripes being on death's door he doesn't think of getting stabbed but rather thinks to moments before it).

we know he sometimes likes to use his explosions to get to higher vantage points (such as roofs), which we see him do during their 2nd year of middle school in "bakugo and deku rising" (the heroes rising tie-in manga)

This detail also lines up with hori saying he regrets having katsuki say the swan dive comment.

A human made break down of the cultural significance of the nickname Kacchan, and izuku's use of it as well as katsuki's (someone posted an AI breakdown of it on the bokunohero sub but screw that imma do it myself)

izuku's thoughts on his relationship to katsuki is that that they are childhood friends, specifically 幼馴染, aka Osananajimi, which is often used as a trope in romance anime because of the close connection it implies. And we know such a connection existed because izuku mentions that katsuki only started becoming mean after getting his quirk, and quirks are stated to usually manifest at around f0ur or f1ve years. We know that they had good memories together because in the light novels "school briefs, specifically the chapter: I am a rabbit, izuku mentions catching stray cats with katsuki and katsuki gets a nostalgic look on his face.

katsuki's nickname, "Kacchan". The "chan" honorific is pretty much something izuku and katsuki normally would have grown out of using, but neither do and that's important. Chan (ちゃん) expresses that the speaker finds a person endearing. In general, -chan is used for young children, close friends, babies, grandparents and sometimes female adolescents. It may also be used towards cute animals, lovers, or youthful women. Chan is never used for strangers or people one has just met. (Straight from wikipedia): Chan (ちゃん)Little or Dear - A term of endearment. Most frequently used for girls and small children, close friends, or lovers. Occasionally may be used to refer to a boy if that is his nickname.

However there is Bō (坊、ぼう), which also expresses endearment. Like -chan, it can be used for young children but exclusively for boys instead of girls. Izuku does not call katsuki by this.

Furthermore Katsuki never stops izuku from calling him this. He even calls himself by it when fighting afo, which shows how he acceots the nickname and even likes it. Chan, when used can cause others to perceive things called by it as "cute", and based on the dynamy comics by horikoshi, it is implied that katsuki wants to be viewed as being cute. Especially by izuku.

The implication with the keeping of "kacchan" as a nickname is that the two never truly went separate ways, and this can be seen in the very very subtle things early on. Such as the can that katsuki holds that has "lip service" on it when katsuki says "it's his fault for messing with me". Lip service is basically when someone says something they themselves don't believe.

Yoichi mentions izuku always looked for the best in people (the image for the panel is izuku and katsuki as kids), and the manga also mentions that Katsuki wasn't a bully before he got his quirk, so from this we can infer that Izuku was holding on to hope that he and katsuki could be friends again because izuku knew he wasn't always like that.

Endeavor is worse than bakugou and peoppe need to stop pretending otherwise.🤷 It isn't even close when it comes to things they've canonically done.

Endeavor canonically raped his wife and abused her and his children (as the slides show was pointed out in story more than once)

explanation for the first slide:

(Ok so here's how it was. Rei and endeavor talk about more kids. Rei says no because it would be cruel to do that now that he knows endeavor's plan for his offspring. Endeavor says toya won't give up any other way because he inherited endeavor's stubborn-ness. The next few pages show the birth of more children. Rei never retracts her no and never visibly agrees to more children. She only had fuyumi so toya would have a sibling to play with.)

Bakugou was a bully who changed without being forced to in a years time.

Endeavor is a grown ass man with a fully developed brain

Katsuki was 14 (teenager).

Katsuki took a hit for izuku, helped him train, apologized, led the funding for izuku's suit, etc.

Endeavor only changed after shoto was born and he got to be no.1 like he wanted💀

He abused his family for years, he saw each member crying, and no remorse hit his mind. Even the death of Toya wasn't enough to stop him. He only started to show remorse when he realised that Shoto hates him + Natsuo wants to quit home and rejects him even after being saved + Toya revealed his crimes so now all the country know what he did to his family.

Endeavor glazers who hate bakugou are hella weird ngl.

Lore post: Mha, religion, and cults within the canon

religion wasn't really all that explored in mha, however we know that at least christianity and buddhism exist due to class 1a having a christmas-themed party and todoroki's dead brother having a buddhist altar (butsudan) at todoroki's household. since those are two of japan's main three religions (buddhism & shinto make up for majority), it's safe to assume religion in the mha world is the same or similar as in ours.

Shiozaki Ibara is the only recurring character who is known to be intensely religious, she is a devout Christian. The Eight Precepts of Death who appeared in the Overhaul arc are meant to be a perversion of the Eight Precepts of Buddhism, with one of its members Hekiji Tengai being a former Buddhist.

On a lesser note katsuki mentions there being a next life when he says the infamous swan dive comment so he possibly believes in reincarnation.

As for cults there are:

- humarize

- the creature rejection clan

the way this sub treats izuku as nothing but a weak little victim is weird and not supported by canon. And i'm a victim of bullying myself and was once suicidal. Let's discuss.

Mha is a hyperfixation of mine, so i engage with all of the content and extra content etc. I tend to gravitate twords the ships in franchises that have the most depth, straight or otherwise. In mha's case, said ship is bkdk. Bkdk is basically gay silent voice only better because katsuki realizes he was wrong on his own and changes within a year. He isn't forced to change via "consequences", or, as tv tropes would call it, a "reason you suck" speech.

Neither katsuki nor izuku is an idiot, and despite the popular belief on reddit that izuku was helpless snd never stood up for himself, we see directly that even in middle school, that wasn't true.

Examples of this are:

In the second year of middle school (seen in the heroes rising tie in manga) izuku and katsuki encounter a villain and katsuki goes after it first, but so does izuku, and he goes to make sure katsuki is ok. Izuku realizes how the villain works before katsuki does and katsuki acknowledges this.

izuku applying to UA in the first place despite his whole class laughing at him

Izuku pretty much not caring about the infamous "swan dive" comment beyond calling a koi fish stupid, going "man if i did that he'd get in trouble", and then giving himself a pep talk on the way home

Izuku getting his dreams crushed and once again giving himself a pep talk over having a breakdown

Then he runs in to save katsuki from the sludge villain and in a way he lowkey succeeds because it's an easy to miss moment, but when he throws his bag and the contents hit SV in the eye, when SV momentarily is stunned, his grip loosens a bit and katsuki's face is freed. The first thing katsuki does is take very deep breaths. We don't know how long katsuki had been being suffocated for but izuku estimates that it was for a long time. It is entirely possible that izuku's actions allowing katsuki even a few seconds of breath are why katsuki didn't die.

Then we have izuku directly telling katsuki that he's going to UA, whether katsuki likes it or not.

So yeah even in middle school izuku was in no way helpless nor was he spineless.

In UA, during the combat trial both of them beat each other's ass but notably izuku was not scared to absolutely body slam katsuki and he did so.

Then in the sports fest when katsuki lowkey seems to be trying to get onto izuku for giving uraraka a plan that requires self sacrifice, izuku interrupts him and informs him the plan was entirely uraraka's own.

In the season 2 vs teacher exams, katsuki punches izuku in the face but later in the episode izuku punches katsuki, you guessed it, in the face.

Then after this season 3 starts and katsuki's development picks up speed so their antagonistic moments die down, but it is interesting to note that izuku pretty much never really needed "defending" as he was never as helpless as the fandom portrays him.

Now as for katsuki's bullying and why the story hints he's like that, i can go more in depth if you like and will probably make a post about it one day, but the thing that is easy to miss and that no one ever really brings up is that katsuki is actually a victim of bullying himself, as seen when izuku is watching him fight off older 4th graders who picked a fight with him

Furthermore:

canon izuku was never ever suicidal, the fandom made that up. (after katsuki tells him that he gets mad, calls katsuki + random koi fish stupid, and walks home while giving himself an internal pep talk. After AM told him he couldn't be a hero, he walked downstairs, out of the building, gave himself an internal talk about being realistic before running into the SV incident)  It is never stated anywhere that izuku EVER wanted to die (he in fact panics when his life is threatened such as when attacked by SV, Muscular, and in the movie where he's scared gulio will get him killed)after they bumped into each other
