WH-1000XM6 headband

To whom it may concern and just in case it wasn't already known: the headband of the XM6 is not as forgiving as the ones of the XM3 and XM4. Because of the higher clamping force of the XM6 I decided to stretch the headband, thinking it could do no harm like with the XM3 and XM4. WRONG. It immediately broke. Fortunately I bought extra warranty/insurance (I'm Dutch so I'm not sure if that is the right term in English) from the shop where I bought it (called Coolblue) and they repaired it without extra costs.

Question about the EQ on the XM3/XM4/XM5/XM6/Ult Wear etc. – Does "Off" sound purer than "Manual" (flat) to you too?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been experimenting a bit with the sound settings on my Sony headphones and noticed something interesting, but I'm not entirely sure if it's just a placebo effect or an actual technical difference.

It seems to me that keeping the Equalizer completely turned "Off" in the app results in a slightly cleaner, more natural sound compared to setting it to "Manual" (or Custom 1/2) with all the bands left flat at zero.

Has anyone else noticed this? Does engaging the Custom EQ introduce subtle digital signal processing (DSP) or alter the soundstage slightly, even when the sliders aren't boosting or cutting anything?

Curious to hear if this is a known quirk or if my ears are just playing tricks on me!

XM6: Stock ear pads vs Wicked Cushions XL ear pads

WC XL: more space and thicker so more comfort for my elephant ears.

Stock: better ANC.
