God similarly said to the saint, “What is this in your right hand?” “It is earthly life,” the saint replied, “on which I lean and with which I cut down leaves for my sheep”: his sheep are his limbs. God then asks him to throw away this earthly life, to withdraw from it completely; the saint then discovers that it is only a creeping serpent. Then God commands him to seize it and not to be afraid. The saint takes it back without feeling any harm, because he does so in the same way he threw it away: with God's permission and in obedience to His order.

Succeeded at age 60 for 21 years A fork in the road between him and Abdel Kader Fassi, a monster of science who founded Fassi zaouiyas of science. Both were students of Muhammad al-Mu'an.
Then came the son of his master: Ahmad ibn Abdullah al-Fasi, famously known as Ibn Ma'an (17th-18th centuries). He revived the 17th-18th centuries and died at the beginning of the 18th century, thus giving the directives.

Too young at 20 years old when his father died to succeed him, he was educated by Shaykh Qasim Khassassi and succeeded him at the age of 41 for 35 years. His book, *Kitab al-Maqsad al-Ahmad*, about his sanctity, is said to have been plagiarized by the Tijani order to describe al-Tijani. Muhammad al-Qadirî's al-Maqsad al-Ahmad is a biographical work about the saint Ibn Mu'an, describing him seeing the Prophet during dhikr.
His zawiya is located in the Makhfiya quarter of Fez, or in Blida, which is also a Tijani zawiya.
