carry-on bag and check-in baggage for flixbus

I have booked the flixbus trip from London, ON to Toronto, ON and paid for the additional prices for additional 2 check-in baggage. But I am wondering whether I need to pay for the 3rd carry-on luggage (which should be smaller than check-in baggage) ? Or I can just bring carry-on bag with my backpack into the bus and put the carry-on luggage into overhead bin inside the flix bus ?

If I plan to travel abroad to some specific countries (in which Mercor does not allow us workers to take tasks when workers are physically located there), should I email and notify the support services of Mercor or should I message project lead via email or slack channel/thread ?

background check public record results found

I started the background check after receiving the offer. My criminal record is clean and nothing was found. But Cert sent me the report indicating legal records/politically exposed persons records have been found for the results, and I have been in US from 2016 to 2024 and now in Canada, and I did not think I have done anything wrong before. Does anyone know what is going on here ?

entry level job/new grad roles for civil engineers

I am trying to secure the entry level jobs/new grad roles as civil engineers in Toronto or somewhere else in Canada, and I got MEng in Civil engineering from Western University recently and did not have any internship or working experience before, and feel like job market is pretty tough for now, I have applied to 500-600 job positions, but only heard back from 4-5 of them for interviews, but they then might secured other candidates and cancelled with interview with me, and that was brutal, not sure if I did something by mistake, and really struggling to find a job, so, any job seeking advice would be appreciated.

entry level job position advice ?

I am new grad from civil engineering graduate program in Canada recently and have hold another MS degrees in construction management and urban planning when I was previously studying in US. I am initially planning to seek/secure entry level positions in the field of construction management and urban planning in Canada recently, but I have applied to 300-400 entry level positions and no callbacks/interviews so far, I am wondering: is entry level job market truly cooked for now ? I saw some job descriptions mentioning that they require 2-3 YOE for entry level jobs or new grad roles, which I am not pretty sure why. PS: I have had 0 YOE, but I have the work authorization currently in Canada. Any advices would be appreciated.

civil discipline-specific review for FE EIT exam experience ?

I am currently studying for FE civil exam by using one of the studying materials--named as "civil discipline-specific review for FE EIT exam 2009 professional" pdf file, and after going over 30% of the questions and solving by myself, I found it to be seemingly more harder than actual exam questions based on what I took before in test center, does anyone have similar experiences ? Or is it just my own experience specifically at this phase ?

reference checks

Does anyone know how to handle the reference checks if the potential opportunity is for the entry-level position ? Not sure if I can ask previous university for the academic references, because I do not have professional references for now. I have been working as teaching assistant in previous university, not sure if the TA supervisor reference can count.
