What runes are you using in the jungle?

As the title says. After the nerf of HoB i find it worse than it was, while Damage is higher, AS feels MUCH lower and it doesn’t feel nice. So lately i’ve only been using PTA.

What are you guys using now? What’s viable? Mid/top runes too, i’m curious, i want more versatility in builds

Feels so damn good to win a game like this

Basically 4 out of 5 enemy champs are good against Briar, yet we managed to win this (i had to feed a little, obviously)

Briar matchups (jgl, mid, top)

Hello there!

I’m curious who you guys ban in your games? What’s the champion you just can’t play against and why?
I have the worst winrate against Wukong, but i ban Shaco to save my mental

Finally hit Emerald one-tricking baby Briar

Only took me almost 1k (800 before realizing i should one-trick and not pick whatever i want every time) games this season and being hardstuck in plat for like 4 months (ironically my promo game was on WW cause Briar was banned)

Mostly built crit bruiser, best working build for me so far in terms of carry potential.

Next stop - diamond (hopefully in less than a year)

Personal build ranking

Take everything i’m gonna say here with a grain of salt, since i’m hardstuck plat trying to reach emerald for the first time ever. I wanna call myself Briar otp, since i decided to play only her and have been doing it, but my stats this season are not otp worthy at all (Barefoot Gremlin#chomp on SEA server if you wanna look, judge, give advice or laugh at how many games i’ve played this season)

Now i have 66.7% winrate on her so far (120 games in ranked) and i thought why not make a tier list of builds that i’ve tried and used. This will be ranked not only by strength, but also how much fun they are to play (my opinion and experience only)

S-Tier

Hubris into full crit. (HoB)
The most fun build for me so far. I also usually build DD last or 4th if i need, it’s an amazing item for Briar.
550-600 AD late game, huge crits that melt everyone, a lot of fun and makes enemies type “jg diff” in all chat

Crit bruiser (PTA)
Collector > Titanic > LDR > DD > EH
A lot of damage, more sustain, good into tankier teams or against burst

A-Tier

Botrk bruiser (PTA)
Botrk > BC > DD > EH
Good into HP tanks, heavy frontline team comps and as a starter build to learn the champ.

Titanic bruiser (PTA)
Titanic > BC > DD > EH
Same shit but tankier, more team oriented in my opinion, allows you to start fights and engage head first

Semi on-hit (HoB)
Kraken > Collector > DD > EH
Fun, a lot of damage, good into squishy teams or with low cc, only tried it once and it let me demolish Yone jg and Yas mid, will try again

B-Tier

Lethality briar (HoB)
Full lethality on Briar feels weird, i feel like it lacks a lot of team fight potential and you’re only good for picks, struggles against tanky team comps, only good into 4+ squishies, falls off hard late game

HP tank (Conqueror)
Heartsteel > Titanic > Bloodlord’s
Weird, fun, but lacks agency. Only good if you’re the only melee champ on the team and other players can follow up. Almost unkillable, but not enough damage to win fights on your own

That’s all i can think of, there are probably more builds out there that i haven’t tried yet, especially with all the videos from L0ganJg that i haven’t watched yet

The luckiest i’ve ever got with the shardblade

Didn’t take a screenshot of final stats, but i just got some more AP and HP
Evelyn GoH, all 3 shard augments, some lucky rolls with 500 gold every round and here we are. 4k true damage on R with 7 second cd, felt sorry for my opponents cause no one had any tank killer on their team
I know i’ve used all of my arena luck for the next month in this game

Item builds and their variations

One of the reasons i love Briar is the fact she can many different builds, compared to most other champs where they have only 1-2 viable paths

So far i’ve seen:

  1. Standard bruiser (Botrk - BC - DD)
  2. Lethality
  3. Crit with 1 lethality item first
  4. Full crit
  5. Crit with Titanic second
  6. HP stacker with Titanic into heartsteel

Now i prefer 3 or 5 in most of my games, and i only go bruiser if they have a lot of melee champs and i need to stay alive for a long time

Question is: what do you guys build most of the time? Do you have any fun builds that no one else is playing?

I used to believe that losers queue is a myth and can be explained using psychology. Now i’m convinced it’s real

I used to believe that after having a win streak you start losing more because you get games with players who are better at the game than in your previous games, and if your skill isn’t there, you will lose until you get to your actual rank/mmr

Last 2 weeks made me believe it’s all artificial bullshit and the game is made to keep you lower than you can climb UNLESS you’re miles ahead in terms of skill (that’s why high elo players can climb from iron to master so fast with almost 100% wr).

I’m a jg main, currently plat 4, dropped from plat 1. During this drop i’ve won maybe 5 games out of 20. Out of those 15 i’ve lost, in 3-4 i’ve played objectively bad at every stage of the game and it was 100% my fault we didn’t win. In the remaining 11-12 games i either played well, or as good as i could given the circumstances. But in all of those games i had 2-3 losing lanes, my team being 0-4 before my first clear is over, feeding enemy adc/jg/mid on repeat, not warding at all, ignoring objectives, grouping top to push T2 when dragon is spawning in 10 seconds (ignoring my pings, which i used since the 1:30 timer) etc etc. In all of those games my team was way worse than the enemy, in most of them i had people play champions they are not comfortable on against people on their mains, i had supports with 30 vision score @30 minutes, i had a silver top on my team against emerald. I can admit i’m not at the level where i’m able to solo carry every game and that my current skill level is around p1-e3, but why do i get such huge team diffs all the time? There are 9 players other than me in every ranked game, people of the similar skill and rank (or they should be), so why do i get the worst 4 players out of the 9 in the lobby?

It wasn’t that bad back in 2020-2022 when i started playing before quitting for 4 years, so what the hell has changed so much?

Thanks for allowing me to vent here, peace, love you all and good luck in your games

Is it optimal to learn Talon as a 3rd pick or is he only good in OTP hands?

As the title says, i’m thinking about learning Talon to add to my pool. He seems fun to play (i don’t really like other assassins) and he’s currently pretty strong. I know he has the highest winrate of all one-tricks, but i’m curious to know is he a viable option as a part of the roster?

Mystic punch + Reverbation

Isn’t it the most broken but also pretty consistent thing? On champions like Briar, Panth and others with point and click CC. It’s the combo that will give you first place every time unless the enemy has a super lucky Swain/Tank with millions of hp or 3 giga lucky carry champs. As much as i enjoy it and try to get it every game (add Cruelty for extra fun), i can’t imagine how tilting it must be for the enemy to not have any counterplay against it.

Upgraded collector cap

Had one of those game where i managed to get upgraded collector and got a lot of stacks. At 27.5% i stopped increasing the threshold, is it a bug or something? Tooltip doesn’t say anything about it, so i assumed i could keep stacking it. Really a shame cause by the end of the game i could increase it up to 50+% which would be super fun

Now i see why people ban Swain almost every game

540k hp, 13k ap. Got lucky with Steel your heart and Stackosaurus rex. It was simply unfair to the opponents. I can tell i will not place in the top 3 in the next 10+ games

Weirdest graph ever (rant)

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the days i have negative wr. Every week. For months. During these two days, even when i play well, every enemy player just plays better. My lanes are losing and feeding before i finish my first quadrant, enemy jg pathing and tracking me better than i do, enemy team rotates with their jg and takes every objective while my teammates contest caster minions with the friendly turret. No vision at all. And after 2 losses i go play arena and i can’t get any decent augment or item. Come Thursday - i get decent teams, games are either close or favorable to me, even if my lanes are losing, they are not feeding and playing safe waiting for me to help when i can, they communicate in English and help with objectives.

Does anyone else experience the same thing? Or is it just unlucky coincidence?

u/SympathyComplete4226 — 2 months ago

Dear shaco main, respectfully

I am this close to perma banning shaco in my games. The only champ who can invade me having level 2, full health and smite before i finish my first buff, and then will invade on repeat

It was the most humiliating game of my life, and while i respect your dedication and time it took to master your champ, especially for one-tricks, it’s so disgusting to play against it

With all due respect, a person with no sadistic tendencies and not a shaco main

Sometimes you win, sometimes…

Having so much fun with Yi lately and i’m really making him my main now. Just need to learn how to carry games where my teammates refuse to play around me when i’m obviously the strongest on the team. (Did a penta in both of these games). Also i need to learn how to play more aggressively early to get item spikes faster. At least i know to ignore pings if there’s nothing i can do to help and it really helps in the early game (i mute the chat since the game start, only use it to give my team directions that pings can’t say)

Build question (jg)

Hi! I’m a hard stuck low plat jg main thinking about making Yi one of my mains. I have a question about builds and i post here instead of watching youtube because i can have a discussion and ask stupid questions.

Anyway, when do i go for On-hit, when for crit and when anything else? Rune-wise i understand it, but item builds are what i’m curious about. Especially after getting a penta with crit and thinking how OP it is

You suggested lethality Lee - i tried it

It’s broken beyond repair. I think i got lucky tho and got paired against weaker enemies, but i snowballed HARD before 2nd drake even. Got called a smurf even tho i’m hardstuck. Love it. Don’t know if the build was correct tho

u/SympathyComplete4226 — 3 months ago

I think i like playing Lee now

Haven’t played Lee since 2022 i guess and now decided to give it a go. Why is he so strong? Literally can carry the games and doesn’t exactly fall off hard late game. Also what should i learn while playing him?

Thoughts on Malignance

What do you think about this item? Especially when going for a burst build. It provides more ap than BFT, mr pen and decent cdr. Waveclear before 2 items is worse tho, but team fight damage is higher.

I have tested it on a dummy with 60mr and compared to BFT and Luden’s. Malignance does around 300 more damage if using R-E-W, no matter the E and Q variation, while BFT does the lowest amount. Should be especially good during teamfights for objectives if you have a tank on your team, since R aoe will apply malignance passive to everyone in it. Combine it with EE and QE for some crazy damage and the fight is won.

So please tell me where i’m wrong with this, is 4% ap from BFT and a small burn are that much better in a fight / lane, or is it something viable?

Guess i’m gonna main Lux now

Peak plat 2 mid player here, Hwei main, who dropped to gold 2 after a huge loss streak. Decided to play some Lux and she feels so… overwhelmingly strong, even if you don’t win lane, you can almost always go even and then carry in mid/late game. Especially here in low elo where people can’t dodge your Q. (Don’t mind the cs numbers, i tend to stop farming in the late game giving cs to the adc or someone else)

P.S. saw people talk about going for Malignance instead of Luden’s, so probably gonna do that now
