One of the youngest engines on the Mid-Sodor Railway, Falcon nearly came off the mountain road while double-heading a train with Duke, whom he affectionately refers to as Granpuff. He and Stuart are the best of friends and would never want to be apart under any circumstances.

An Italian woman in the British Special Operations Executive likely because of the disappearance of her older sister, Laura. She likely first saw action in North Africa before conducting operations with partisans in Italy. Would later enter a romantic relationship with a British soldier.

Tiger Moth is a bi-plane who once performed barnstorming shows back in the 1930s before becoming a scout plane for the war effort. He is dismissed by the other planes for being a circus plane and he tries to prove his worth to the best of his abilities.

Freddie of the Ffestinog Railway is one of Duke's old friends. He calls himself "Fearless Freddie" because of his daredevil personality. He laughs in the face of war, especially during the Great War when he worked with his brother Russell. Like Duke, he acts as a mentor to Stuart and Falcon and tries their best to keep them in line.

Wilfred is one of the kinder engines of the Culdee Fell Railway who likes to sing and whistle songs as he climbs and descends the mountain. One of his favorite tunes is Micheal Finnagen, and he often likes to sing along with people who climb up the mountain.

Named after Sir Handel Brown's daughters, Agnes, Ruth, Lucy, Jemima and Beatrice the Guard's Van are the only passenger stock on the Skarloey Railway. They adore their engines but sometimes sneer at one another. Agnes is envied by the other coaches because she has plush seats and they have bare boards. All four of them sniff at Beatrice for being a Guard's Van. Beatrice is the most useful as a ticket booth and a coach herself whenever trains are full.
