My coworker opened my pay stub. I am not worthy.

I have over 10 years of practicing and teaching in a rare, specialty branch of Healthcare. I took a 6 years hiatus for school and battling illness. I've been back working in a small healthcare company for a year now. Everything has been fine until I noticed the cold shoulders, petty comments, and catty vibe. Not long after, I received a phonecall from one of my bosses asking if I ever told someone about my pay because the gossiping was going around. The management is now having a tough time dealing with a few of senior staffs who have been there for over 10 years but make a lot less than me.

Yesterday one lady that work with me bursted out in rage that put me in tears. Management had a one-on-one meeting with everyone from the scene.

I was told that the paycheck peeper was caught and talked to (Not the lady that just scolded me). She claimed that it was left opened. (No. I checked my pay stub, put it back in the envelope and placed it in my drawer so going into my personal space to retrieve personal information is not nice.) I was called incompetent despite having higher credentials, formal trainings, years of experience plus teaching, therefore I do not deserve the highest pay than everyone. The comments sting since I never had complaints/writeup about my work performance, ever. I was trusted, valued, and promoted throughout my career in this industry. Feedbacks from students and patients were great aswell.

Problem is the management now also implied that I was hired with high expectations but I still don't quite deliver and I'm still not a strong person to handle certain tasks. I don't feel safe from the job security and workplace bullying anymore.

Have you ever had conflict about the pay with your coworkers?

I love my specialty line of work and everything that comes with it. Part of me wanted to give it a go for 3 more months to prove them wrong, but part of me wants to start looking for a new job. As I mentioned that my line of work is rare and pays more I will have to take a hugh chunk of paycut or commute 2 hours to the nearest facility.

I appreciate any advice or stories! Thank you!

What was your most creative or funniest anniversary gift you've received?

Hi all, our 25th anniversary is right around the corner. For those who has been in the long term marriage, you may understand that gifting ideas could get repetitive or predictable (IMO). Im looking for something creative, funny, outside-the-box (puns not intended lol) ideas present. Include your back story or inside jokes if applicable. Thanks 😊

Romantic spots

Hello! We'll soon be celebrating our 20th anniversary and would like to plan a romantic day within the NWI area. We already visited Sybaris in IL and Serenity Springs quite often. Any place you think we should visit or stay. Doesn't matter if it's a restaurant, parks, sightseeing, bars, or place to stay a night. Creative date ideas welcomed, or simply tell your experience. Where did you celebrate your anniversary in NWI?

Note: We will not visit your house 😆

Career Advancement

Would love to hear from any techs who considered themselves advance in your career/ not practicing in pharmacy settings but still using your pharmacy experience/ knowledge, or if you are now at your "Top Pay" for your specialty after becoming certified. I have been CPhT for 10 years starting from retail, academia, and compounding. I was considering getting CPhT-ADV but not sure if that will help me getting more advanced position or increase salary. I'm in Midwest area with Bachelor's degree. TIA for your input.

"Your Mom"

I cringe everytime I hear this lack of originality phase, even when I ask genuine or serious questions. My mom passed away 20+ years ago and I usually respond as such. For those who lost your mother, do you respond the same way I do, or what are some of your comebacks?

Roll call for funny pets name

For those who compound vet meds, what are some pet names that make you laugh or simply put smile on your face?

Some of mine are "Stop-it" and "No-no" the cats.

Route to Indiana Cavern/ Louisville

Hello, anyone ever traveled from NWI to Indiana Cavern? Are there any cool attractions along the way that you would recommend? Or should we just travel 20 mins further to Kentucky? Thanks 😊
