Revolver Deux

3.5583 HF, 38.22 sec. 24A, 5C 1D. Unloaded start, gun and moonclips on the table. S&W 929.

Fumbled a bit with the clip pickup to belt transition at the beginning there (usually I'm pretty good at that but I caught my shirt) but otherwise I'm pretty happy with how this stage ran. Awkward round count meant I had to dump two extra rounds at the beginning (you'll see four shots into a single target behind the barrels) but the rest of it then sat nicely on sets of 8 with moving reloads.

IPSC Revolver

4.772 HF: 16A, 3C, 1D, 18.86 sec.

Honestly could have ripped this one a bit faster, slowed down on the partials too much and the initial draw/2 targets was too slow. Last reload fumbled a little.

Overall happy with the result but room for improvement.

S&W 929.

Looking for reliable mechanic for 80s Ford

Hey all. I have an 88 F150 that I'm at my wit's end with. Massive sentimental value to me and I just want her to run properly again.

I've already dumped a couple grand in parts in it chasing things and I can't seem to get to the end of them. I'm at a point where the next few things that need doing, need a lift that I don't have.

I'm in Surrey and mechanics I've tried either don't have time for an old truck or they have never seen one of these early fuel injected engines so they just give me stupid prices to go away. I need an old hand. Langley seems like a good spot to find that.

Anyone have a recommendation for a shop? I'm willing to sink a few thousand into her to get this done, and I am willing to be patient about it. Time is not a factor. Appreciate any suggestions.

Infocomm 2026

Obviously A&H will be there, showcasing all the new toys, but just a reminder that the folks at r/commercialav will be hosting a few meetups during the week. See their sticky thread for dates and times.

DIY Layout Creator - AI is trash

I recently decided to support the patreon for DIYLC. After all this time using it I figured I should maybe give something back now that I can.

Part of this gives me access to their AI bot. Not a fan of AI regardless, but I'm getting the credits so sure, let's give this a go and see if it can maybe spot errors or offer suggestions or something. Benefit of the doubt.

Holy shit, it's awful. I'm doing a layout for a basic Ruby amp style LM386 circuit and it abjectly refuses to accept the pin out of the 386. I've fed it schematics. I've fed it spec sheets. I've added the pin out to the labelling. I've manually labelled it with text. I've told it over and over, and it says it will adjust but it just. Fucking. Doesn't.

I burned 25 of the monthly 100 credits last night just trying to get it to accept the pin out which is literally displayed on the screen. Refuses.

On top of that it straight up ignores other elements of my design. "You're missing a resistor in this spot" what, no I'm not. There is clearly one there. Exactly where you think it should be. It's connected and everything. "This diode is not connected" yes it is. I can see it in the netlist, it's visually connected in the diagram.

I honestly don't know how anyone can trust anything else this does. If AI is this useless as a debugging tool I wouldn't trust it to describe a ham sandwich.

Shoutout to Little Crow Gunworks

Recently put in an order for one of their WFT2 trimmers and a bunch of the brass adapters. Decided to grab one of their precision prep tool handles as well.

Shipment arrived, no prep tool but they accidentally sent me all the attachments for it. Sent them an email, and a couple weeks later the handle shows up in the mail.

No charge, no extra freight, and it was international prepaid too. They probably made $0 on my order, so I figured I should at least give them a bump for top notch service.

Also the tools are really nice. Coming from an old Lyman brass trimmer this thing is a godsend. Do recommend.

r/AllenHeath is back up and running!

Hey, everyone! Posting with the blessing of the mods here.

Many of you have seen me floating around here answering Allen & Heath (and other) questions in the past. Well, one of my struggles has been that the Allen & Heath subreddit was locked down and abandoned by the previous mod. After some work, I've managed to get it transferred to me and it is back and open for questions!

r/AllenHeath

Obviously it is empty at this point, but hopefully we can start growing it as a place to help each other with questions. There is no official connection to A&H here, other than that I happen to be a sales rep for one of their many distributors, but we're hoping to bring more direct contact going forward.

If you want to join up and join in the discussion, please come on over!

Flair Wizard - Rusting

Lock washer on the top of the Wizard steamer is obviously not stainless. This is less than two weeks of regular use.

Going to contact support obviously, but wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. The screws also appear to be regular blued carbon steel.

Keep blowing aux fans

This is a weird one.

I keep blowing aux fans. The electric one up front that helps the AC radiator when not moving. I've been through three in the past two years and this is getting ridiculous.

Fuses aren't blowing. Voltage is fine. No other electrical problems manifesting.

I do live somewhere where I am running the AC fairly constantly (high winter humidity, high summer temps) so I am hard on the AC system, but the first fan lasted 20+ years before this with no problem.

Anyone run into this before? I'm buying good brand name parts from reputable retailers, warranties are being honoured but it's a massive pain in the ass to swap these since you pretty much have to take the whole bumper off.
