Which characters could successfully talk their way out of a Chris Hansen predator sting?

Hansen has the character as dead to rights as the average predator on any of his shows; the character had the typical kinds of explicit conversations with a self-identified minor online and came over to the sting house with apparent criminal sexual intent.

The character's job is to do what most predators attempt: to talk their way out of the situation. They must convince Hansen, and by extension the police, that this was all some sort of misunderstanding or something to that effect. The character wins if Hansen and the police are genuinely convinced of the character's innocence on the spot to the point of letting them leave without further incident, or otherwise sincerely convinced to let them go.

The character may not use reality manipulation, mind control, or any other kind of superhuman power or ability in this process. This is solely about conversing and convincing. Hansen and co. will similarly not be swayed by threats or coercion; even if the character can back up their threats, the police are willing to arrest them anyway in this scenario. Any kind of violence, even if it succeeds in freeing the character from the situation, is similarly a failure.

To be clear, talking their way out of it is the only win condition for this question. A smart character would be more likely to simply say "I am not interested in discussing this until I have a lawyer present", remain silent, and save their efforts for the courtroom. There are plenty of characters who could probably figure out how to pull off a legal win or find any other number of ways to escape the situation, but that is not the goal here. The goal is to succeed at the quixotic white whale pursued foolishly by virtually every predator on the show, which is to somehow convince Hansen and co. of their innocence right then and there- or convince them in some other (non-supernatural, non-superhuman) way to let them go without further incident- and walk away unscathed.

Can any fictional character pull it off?

One simple marketing fix could have saved One Night Only (2026) from flopping

It was literally this easy. Why do Hollywood marketing folks get paid so much

Hey what the

>Blightfall is inhospitable, surrounded by mysterious debris and covered in giant, invasive forests that have swallowed most of the planet

The Empire Strikes Back ruined Star Wars. Why is Darth Vader quipping like an MCU superhero?

Suddenly he’s making snarky little one-liners? Come on. And don’t even get me started on the forced “twist” they shoehorned in at the end that makes no sense, has no buildup, and completely contradicts everything the previous movie established. They had no plan for any of this dumb shit, and it shows. Forcing MCU humor into your villain’s dialogue and cheap, nonsensical twists to make the audience gasp before their brains kick in isn’t gonna save your franchise, George. Empire barely made half of what Star Wars did, and you know why? It’s because you took the easy path with this corny schlock and it backfired.

Considering Zack Snyder’s accomplishments with Rebel Moon and Disney’s failures with Star Wars, do you agree that Snyder should be put in charge of Lucasfilm?

In my opinion, he should be given Dave Filoni’s job and allowed to do whatever he wants with the Star Wars franchise. The scale, direction, and depth of the Rebel Moon movies put every single aspect of Disney Star Wars to shame. There is no project under the Disney regime that compares. I haven’t seen any Rebel Moon or Star Wars project, but I think Snyder has the kind of vision that could shake up Lucasfilm and deliver a bright new future for the franchise. Thoughts?

A modest proposal to make Star Wars good with just a few dialogue additions

Episode I: Palpatine tells Maul “Together, we are the phantom menace”

Episode II: Yoda says “An attack of the clones, this is” as he arrives on Geonosis with the warships

Episode III: Palpatine tells Anakin “At long last, the revenge of the Sith is at hand”

Episode IV: Obi-Wan tells Luke “Luke, you are a new hope”

Episode V: Han quips “So, the Empire strikes back, huh?” early on during the Battle of Hoth

Episode VI: Luke says “Emperor, today is the return of the Jedi” in the throne room

Episode VII: Snoke tells Kylo Ren “The force awakens, and with it, my sexual appetite”

Episode VIII: Luke tells Kylo Ren “I will not be the last Jedi”

Episode IX: After Palpatine says “As once I fell, so falls the last Skywalker”, Rey says “No, you’re wrong. This is the rise of Skywalker”

Thoughts?

Minions & Monsters is officially Illumination’s most critically acclaimed movie, currently sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

I mean alright it’s 13 reviews but fuck you, it would be really funny if the third Minions movie was just an absolutely stellar banger out of nowhere so I choose to believe this indicates it is until proven otherwise

Why didn’t IX end with Rey replying to the old woman by saying “Rey Palpatine” and then her eyes turn yellow and she starts cackling maniacally and blasts the old woman’s flesh off her bones with Force lightning and then we get the credits circle thing and upbeat John Williams ending music?

Disney should have done this. And then still not made any post-sequel content at all for like a decade, and then still refused to address it in any post-sequel content for a good while after that
