Reminder: Public Hearing On North Point Mall Next Monday, August 24th!

Speak your mind and have a say in what the city does with YOUR tax money. (Personally) I think building a giant hockey arena when you don't have an NHL contact is asinine. Don't even get me started on trying to get Southerns into hockey. We don't need the music hall or conference center, we already have those and we certainly don't need 1,500 more rental homes to add to our traffic problem. How about building something for the community. Somewhere you don't have to pay to be, like a park. Somewhere that won't have us at another city council meeting in 10 years trying to figure out what to do about our failing hockey rink.

Success! She is free!!!

Community pressure works! So many current representatives and candidates for office showed up with the community and she was able to come back home. 💙

URGENT: Please Stand With a Military Family Tomorrow Morning

We are asking veterans, immigration advocates, community organizations, and concerned neighbors to join us tomorrow morning in Norcross.

The wife of a U.S. Army soldier who is currently away completing military training has been ordered to report to ICE at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19. Following the denial of her asylum application, we believe she may be taken into custody and face deportation while her husband is away preparing to serve our country.

We only learned about this case today, so we recognize this is extremely short notice. Kozycki Law LLC has taken on her representation, and we are gathering outside the ICE facility at 7:30 a.m. to stand with this military family before her check-in.

WHEN: Wednesday, August 19 at 7:30 a.m.

WHERE: 3300 Holcomb Bridge Road, Suite 110, Norcross, GA 30092

Facility #6DN | Department #5762

Joining:

• Tony Kozycki, U.S. Navy combat veteran, immigration attorney & Democratic nominee for Congress in GA-07

• Mark Peterson, Common Defense Georgia

• Additional elected officials, candidates, veterans, immigration advocates, and community leaders are being invited to join.

If you or members of your organization can be there, please come stand with this family. We would also be grateful if you would forward this to your networks. Given the urgency, every person who can show up tomorrow morning matters.

Flock Protest on Wednesday, August 19th!

⁨Atlanta, Intercontinental Hotel 3315 Peachtree Rd. NE at the annual Flock conference!

Wednesday, August 19th, at 6:00pm during the DeFlock National Week of Action!

The National Week of Action Against ALPRs is from August 16-22. Thousands of people in cities across the country will participate in a variety of public meetings, townhalls, and other events intended to raise awareness about the use of ALPRs (automated license plate readers) in their communities, the harms of these cameras, and how we can work together to end their use.

Flock Safety, who operate AI cameras that conduct billions of automated scans a month across the country, are headquartered here in Atlanta, GA. A creative and dispersed movement has been growing to oppose the use of these cameras. During this National Week of Action we have a unique opportunity to participate and confront Flock where they're based.⁩

June 14th, 2025 - Albuquerque No Kings Protest!

Obligatory REPOST

Caption:
"The Albuquerque protest was awesome! We had a smoothie truck, ice cream truck, fire truck, an entire pavilion for water and first aid, some snack carts with the bells (I forgot the name, sorry). There was a whole band and we had Melanie Stansbury, the New Mexico Representative give a speech! it was like a giant picnic/festival, and the only cops were a few outside to direct traffic. There had to be AT LEAST 1,000 people, and I didn't even stay the whole 4 hours! Someone made a "sign" of sorts that was a guillotine, lol. #nokingsday"

Trouble with responsive <iframe> sizing

I'm trying to embed websites into my page without constantly having to resize the windows to remove scroll bars. I tried following the explanation here[https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Reference/Elements/iframe#responsive_iframe_sizing], but no luck. I'm using HTML formatting. Here's the script I have down. How do I fix it?

<iframe

meta name="responsive-embedded-sizing"

src="URL"></iframe>

I am VERY new to this so I'm sure it's some stupid mistake, please be nice.

April 19th, 2025 - Athens 50501 Rally!

Obligatory REPOST

Caption:
"I was one of the speakers and then was busy handing out waters to everyone so I didn't get the chance to take many photos/videos or go live. Honestly, that's fine anyway since I don't want to put people's faces out there by accident if they don't want it. GA had at least 7 50501 confirmed "meet and greets" that I know of since April 19th was meant to take the momentum from the capitals to local areas which is where real change happens.
I'm still in the Tiktok timeout corner 😩 even though I'm trying to avoid the words they don't like and use right-leaning tags. Oh well."

DEADLINE TOMORROW! Tell the PSC to protect Georgia ratepayers from "Project Camellia"

Deadline: Friday August 14

From One Hundred Miles:

The staff of the PSC-the state agency that regulates Georgia Power-is reviewing the contract between Georgia Power and OpenAl for "Project Camellia," the proposed data center in Effingham County. PSC staff only have until TOMORROW (Friday) to file an objection so that this entirely redacted contract can be reviewed by the PSC's elected officials and seen by the public before it is approved. Use the simple form on our website to contact the PSC today, so Georgians can have the time, transparency, and accountability we deserve for projects of this massive scale.

April 5th, 2025 - Atlanta Hands Off Protest!

Obligatory REPOST

Caption:
"As we dive into a May full of action, I finally got around to editing the April 5th "get-together". Atlanta showed up!!! We had over 20 THOUSAND people march 3.5 miles from Piedmont Park to the capitol building. "At Liberty Plaza outside the Capitol, protestors heard from a slate of speakers including lawmakers, federal employees who have lost their jobs, and civil rights activists. The crowd was so large that it spilled over into the Memorial Drive Greenway linear park." That many people!!!
I hope you all can help keep this momentum going because one or two marches isn't going to make a rev•|uti•n. Real change happens over years of trial and error, with hard work and dedication.
"Those who make peaceful rev•luti•n impossible will make v;•lent rev•luti•n inevitable." -John F Kennedy.
We need Grassroots movements right now. Go to your town hall meetings, get to know your neighbors and community. Hell, run for a city/county position. The time is now. Out with the old and in with the new. We need to end career politicians, set age, term, and salary limits, and no more lobbying. AND BOYCOTT! YOU ARE GIVING THE SAME BILLIONAIRES YOU HATE MORE MONEY! Stop buying anything non essential. Fix things, sew holes in your clothes, be as self reliant as U can. I've stopped being a consumer. We've been conditioned to be consumers, we're #1 in the world by a LOT. Now, commodities are cheap and living necessities are expensive. Boycott everything.
We need to stop giving celebrities attention. No more following them online, no more obsessing over the Met Gala or Red Carpet, no more idolizing them. They're a distraction, like bread and circuses. I know I sound like I'm wearing a tinfoil hat when I say that, but take a moment to really look inward and see if you're complacent enough to let business carry on as usual while those in power destroy everything around you. Don't let them."

Crazy how much I had to censor myself on Tiktok and it's so much worse now. And ignore the watermark, my bad.

February 17th, 2025 - Atlanta 50501 Rally!

Reposting my old Tiktoks here so I can finally leave that godforsaken app behind. I want to keep a record of what we've done so far, but on one of the few apps left that haven't been completely bought out by billionaires (although Sam Altman has a 9% stake in Reddit according to Wikipedia).

Caption:
"The 50501 Project is organizing protests at every state capitol. Their last protest was Feb 5 and they're meeting again today, Feb 17, President's Day. Stay up to date with protests near you."
