I recently started a marketing community, looking for advice?

I recently created a Reddit community (r/MarketingInPractice) focused on practical marketing discussions, where marketers can share real experiences, challenges, ideas, and lessons learned.

I’m new to managing a community and would love to hear from people who have experience building one. What worked for you when you were starting out, and what mistakes should I avoid? Any practical suggestions on growing engagement and creating an active community would be appreciated.

How to do AEO for a B2B service business?

For a B2B service business with a longer sales cycle, what actually works for AEO?

Should the focus be on answering industry-specific questions, building topical authority, creating comparison/use-case content, optimizing FAQs, or something else?

Would love to hear from people who have actually tested AEO for B2B services. What worked, and what didn’t?

How do you build a strong B2B social media strategy when you have very little content to work with?

I work as a social media specialist for a B2B company that provides IT services and engineering products.

Most of my strategy revolves around thought leadership, product highlights, industry pain points and trends. The problem is that we don’t have many client case studies or gated resources to use as content.

I’d also like to create short form videos where leadership and SMEs share their experience with product development, company results, customer challenges and what they’re seeing in the industry. But getting people to volunteer for videos has been difficult.

For those managing social media for B2B companies, how would you approach this situation?

How would you build a compelling strategy that actually strengthens brand awareness and credibility when you have limited case studies, downloadable content and access to leadership/SMEs?

How are you using email marketing for B2B products/services?

I’m curious how other B2B marketers are actually using email as a channel.

For B2B products or services, what role does email play in your overall marketing strategy? Is it mainly for lead nurturing and follow ups, or are you also using it for awareness, product education, customer retention, and re-targeting?

Would be interesting to hear what’s working for others, especially for longer B2B sales cycles.

Why isn’t LinkedIn included in Google Search Console’s new Platform Properties?

Just saw Google’s new Platform Properties in Search Console for Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube. But why isn’t LinkedIn included? 👀For B2B marketers, it would be useful to see which LinkedIn posts are discovered through Google and what searches are driving that visibility.

Do you think LinkedIn should be added next? Or is there a reason Google might be leaving it out?

Why did my post’s upvotes suddenly drop?

I’m new to Reddit and recently made a post in a community. It initially got around 10 upvotes, and my karma also increased to 3. But after some time, I noticed that the numbers had suddenly dropped to 1.

I’m a bit confused about why this happened, especially since I followed the community rules and guidelines. Is this normal on Reddit, or has anyone else experienced something similar?

What’s the best way to actually get started on Reddit?

Hey everyone!
I’m new to Reddit and have mostly been lurking so far. I’d like to start participating more, but I’m still figuring out how things work here.

For those who’ve been around for a while, what’s the best way to get started? Should I spend some time commenting before making posts, and how important is karma when you’re new?

I’m mainly interested in marketing, careers, technology, and learning. Would love to hear any advice or mistakes I should avoid as a beginner.

From B2B Marketing to Product Marketing Role

I have 7 years of experience in B2B marketing at a company that offers both IT services and software products. My work includes campaign strategy, email marketing, lead generation, content creation, and collaborating with sales, product, and leadership teams. Over time, I've become more interested in Product Marketing, especially customer insights, product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy. I'm now looking to make that transition.

If you've made a similar move (or currently work as a PMM), I'd love to hear your advice. What skills or experience helped you break into Product Marketing? How would you position a B2B marketing background for PMM roles? Would you recommend transitioning internally first or applying directly? Thanks!
