Can All Old Tapes Damage A Tape Player?
Can all old Tapes damage a Cassette Tape Player? I was wondering this because I want to know if an old Cassette in Near Mint or Mint condition would still damage a Tape Player.

Transatlatic - The Absolute Universe (The Breath of Life)
I love when an album I like has this much details about the music.
Why don't some headphones have the High Res audio symbol on the box is they sound like they are High Res and some Headphones that don't sound that High Res have the High Res Symbol on the box? Also, I noticed that some headphones that come with Bluetooth and analog audio jack mode that they always sound higher quality with a cable rather than used Bluetooth. At least my SR50BT headphones which are Noise Cancelling have NC capabilities with a cable mode and Bluetooth mode.
I got some of these from my Mom, but so far I got the Tom Misch Tape I ordered.
This amp has all the features many modern guitarists wpuld like from a huge amount of distortion on full gain with distortion settings and it cleans up with humbuckers and the volume knob turned down. I have found that even in 20 Watts mode that single coil pickups are cleaner with the clean settings with this amp when a single coil guitar's volume is knob is turned all the way up, and I still like the sound of the clean settings with lower volume knob levels with humbuckers. I like how many CAB IR settings you get for both clean and distortion and each setting sounds like a different amp. I like that I can plug headphones into the Bandlander 50 Head and plug a mic cable into it plus into an interface because I can't use a Mic where I live currently because I live near a main road. It also comes with an amp Channel switcher pedal which is so handy.
The Badlander 50 Head never sounded fizzy no matter what settings I used with it. Some people may think the Badlander 50 head sounds too dark overall, but with reduced bass I don't think it's too dark sounding. The distortion with a Mesa Boogie horizontal 2x12 cab sounds so good to me. I wouldn't recommend this amp for Jazz since you have to turn the volume knob on humbuckers down just to get a good tone with the clean channels and the middle knob turned high makes the amp sound weird to me. Many people have said Rectifier amps sound weird with high amounts of middle. It sounds good to me with the Middle at the half way point or lower than that though.
Features - 10/10
Presence -10/10
Treble - 10/10
Middle - 5/10
Bass - 10/10
Versitility - 7/10
Durability - 10/10 (Just make sure it doesn't get transported without proper padding in a box and on backroads or other intense roads.
Price - Expensive 😆😂🤣
Final Rating - 7/10 for use with different genres other than Metal, Rock, Mathrock, Indie, Shoegaze, or Country (which I don't play), but for what I use it for which is not Jazz it has a 10/10 in terms of sound. i know Jazz has improv, but I like to do improv with different genres too. My small Acoustic Tube amp and Boss Katana Mini sounds better with Jazz Tones I think.
My room will be getting colder in sometimes in Fall and all the time In Winter and I was wondering if cold will affect tapes. I found that Hot doesn't effect tapes unless it's heat from direct sun and also if you have played a tape many times that can effect tapes too. I have also seen people post saying that humidity effects tapes more than a room's temperature. How should I store tapes in the cold?
Mark from Dire Straits is one of the best guitarists to release music in the 70s and 80s. That stack of audio is my UEME CD player on the bottom, my Focusrite Scarlett Solo on top of that, and my Turntable Lab Lofi one sitting on top of the stack with my m40x headphones plugged into that Cassette player. The Studio Monitors I have are the Yamaha HS5 speakers, a set of speakers loved by many people and a very hated set of speakers by many people. 😆😂🤣 I love them though and you can learn what a good mix is sounds like plus how to mix well on any set of Studio Monitors. That Mic cable is plugged into my Badlander 50 head.
For what I like to use the Greadio CD player with which is the Radio it sounds warmer than most typical CD player setups which I like. The battery life is decent, the speakers are typical small internal speakers, and I don't mind that it doesn't have gapless audio for the price. The Radio itself has some amount of warm quality to my ears even with FM. I give the Greadio CD player an 8/10 with what I like yo use it with.
What are some of your guys's favorite Melo Death bands?
Luckily this fits nicely on my desk. The Ueme DVD and CD playet is not longer on the Canadian Amazon, but it still has good audio quality from it with uncompressed orignal sound and it especially sounds good quality with my HS5 speakers. It has a USB input, a HDMI input/output, and it has a remote with lots of buttons. You can controll the volume of it very well, but only with some speakers. A typical stereo speaker setup will make it so you can controll the volume well, but if you plug it into something like the Boss Katana Mini then the first volume level with be already super loud. It was also rated high when I saw it on the Canadian Amazon. I don't think I could fit a bigger CD player on my desk with how I want my desk setup.
That CD is Horizons/East by Thrice. I can't have my Computer plus CD and DVD player both connected to my speakers with my current setup, but that's fine since when I listen to CD, Cassette, or Vynil I usually want to get away from looking at a screen on.
I know King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard has used tape saturation on a lot of their albums, but I especially like the sound of Gumboot Soup. I think Gumboot Soup is one of their best albums. The story behind Gumboot Soup and how they struggled a lot when making it is interesting. Some of peoples best music/art comes from struggles. What do you guys think of KGATLW's use of tape saturation?
I think Frightbox Recording has the best be the best Metal/Rock production courses and I think that the PDF I got with one of the courses will for sure be helpful in the future. An interesting thing that I saw during going through the course I bought was that there was a tiny bit of tape saturation on applied some tracks in some of the videos. Tape saturation seems to soften the sound of tracks, even super harsh ones. I know I used Ableton while going through the course I bought, but I was still able to have "Send" thingies for my tracks. Now that I know what a good production for my ears sounds like on my speakers, I can mix on them well. Listening to music with good sounding production on whatever speakers you have can help train your ears to how a good production sounds on whatever speakers you have, but obviously you don't want to mix the exact same way for all the music you mix.
After a while my Lofi One player started having a clicking sound, but it turns out all the good quality tapes I played still sound fine and how they did before the clicking happened. I am guessing it's a problem with the gears since it does not effect the sound of good quality or speed of cassettes with headphones and a meduim low plus medium volume even, luckily the click is quiet enough not to disrupt my listening experience with my Lofi One tape player and headphones. I certainly don't want anything else going on with my player that may be even a little annoying.
The final price I payed for this which was $41 is ok because I get the Digital and Cassette versions. I saw the The Hu live and they where amazing, they even covered a Metallica song.
I love the Lofi One Cassette player. It has enough warm bass paired with my Audio Technica m40x headphones, there is not too much treble with my m40x headphones, and the middle is nicely present. The speakers are like average small speakers, but they are funny to use to me. Tapes fit nicely inside. It has an automatic stop which I love, but you have to manually stop it after it's done rewinding and that is fine. It is very durable and with the original box it came in with the original bubble wrap plus put in a bag it stays strong even on mildly bumpy city highways. It looked more white in the photos of it, but I am glad it's actually light grey coloured. I think the Turntable Lab Lofi One Cassette player is 8.5/10 and I would give it a higher rating if it had a wider frequency response range. It's so good for the price though and I like the sound of it more than demos of the Fiio Cassette player and some Amazon Cassette players I heard on YouTube.
The actual experience of sitting with a screen off or in front of no screen and listening to tapes can help me engage my mind more with music. The updates on the Package Tracking of the Cassette player where very accurate. The tape player might be the last thing I buy from Turntable Lab though because I have seen a lot of comments about bad quality shipping from that company with some products. Hotel California was the one good quality tape out of the ones I picked from my Mom's old collection so far. I thought tapes might be too lofi for me, but in good condition I like the warmth they have in many players. I will be buying more Cassette tapes, but with the income I have I limit myself to buying four albums in any format I want them in and if an album I want only comes in digital that is fine.
I love how even though it's hard to stop at the right time when fast forwarding or rewinding a tape when trying to go to a certain song that isn't the first one, at least you can play the first side of a tape from the beginning once the second side is done playing.
I recommend getting a decibel meter app, there are many good ones. I recommend that so you can see how loud you have your speakers and then adjust them so they are not too loud, 70db and above or close to 70db can be damaging over time to your ears without musician grade ear plugs. Even if you don't have sensitive ears you should still care about what volume you listen to music.
