[TOMT][VIDEO][2010s][2020s] Viral cat video of a tomcat repeatedly trying to sneakily bite a female cat (presumably to mate) but the female cat keeps turning its head to look at the tomcat, thwarting its attempts.

I don't know what platform it originated from, but I'm pretty sure it was posted to Reddit at some point.

[Braille > English] Sequence of dots resembling Braille that appear in debug stages in a video game (Super Monkey Ball 2)

It is not clear from their location which way up is the correct orientation, so I've included both possibilities. It's also possible that it is Japanese Braille, but in the final game there is a secret message to the player written in English Braille in an early stage (which has been translated), so there's a good chance this is English Braille as well.

Jamanana - a major addition or structural change to a show or series that happens late in its run, which ruins the show for many people

Named after Jamanana, a villain character added to the show Shichinin no Nana in its last 5 episodes that leads to a complete shift in the show's tone that ruins it for me. Selected because it's fun to say and obscure enough that no one will complain that it was named after X popular show instead of Y popular show.

The change doesn't necessarily have to lead to the show ending, but should mark a new era in the show, and should be a deliberate change by the creators (i.e not things like seasonal rot or flanderization).

Examples of Jamananas include:

  • Michael Scott being written off of the show in The Office
  • Joey and Rachel dating in Friends
  • Chloe's addition to the Fairly OddParents
  • Serialization in South Park
  • Thomas and Friends shifting from model trains to CGI

DAE have a different "default" sleeping pose depending on whether you're lying on your left or your right?

And I mean regardless of the orientation of the bed you're sleeping on. My arms and legs just naturally fall into different positions if I'm sleeping on my left side or my right side, and attempting to sleep in the "other side"'s pose feels extremely uncomfortable. idk if my body is slightly asymmetrical in just the right way, or if it's some kind of muscle memory that I've only recently noticed.

Say one good thing about a bad song, I'll start

In Rebecca Black's "Friday", when she says "gotta get down to the bus stop", there's a significant pause after the word "stop" before Black resumes singing. I just thought that was kind of neat.

Also you are legally required to picture your response with Matt Rose narration.

Moped Mayhem from Mario Party 8 running at 60fps (Dolphin)

Edit: TIL Reddit doesn't support 60fps videos. R.I.P

The Dolphin emulator wiki's 60fps boards code apparently works for Moped Mayhem as well, which is the only minigame in the game that runs at 30fps by default. This results in the game running twice as fast, but it actually feels a lot BETTER at this speed, as well as the gameplay being butter smooth rather than jittery, to the point where I wonder if the decision to lock the minigame at 30 was done late in development.

Note that if you plan on trying this yourself, I wouldn't recommend doing it on actual hardware as the game will lag like crazy and probably overwork your Wii. If running on Dolphin, you'll want to make use of the overclocking feature. I'd suggest a minimum of 120% clock speed for courses 1 and 2, and 140% clock speed for course 3, as this is usually enough to stop most of the lag. Course 3 in particular definitely WILL NOT work on real hardware.

The Dolphin wiki has a gecko code that forces the game to run at 60fps at all times, due to board gameplay normally running at 30fps. However, the minigame Moped Mayhem also runs at 30 normally, and the code affects that as well. Unfortunately, attempting to run it on hardware would yield poor results due to the minigame lagging significantly when forced to run at 60, but using Dolphin's CPU clock rate override you can make the game run smoothly.

Thought I'd showcase what 60fps gameplay of this minigame looks like, since I couldn't find footage of it anywhere. It works surprisingly well, to the point where it makes me wonder if the game being knocked down to 30fps was decided later into development, and they didn't adjust the speed of the gameplay to compensate.
