A little video with my playing in the background :)

Hi everyone, I'm 16 and last time I posted on this sub I got a lot of mean critique about my hands when I posted an actual playing video, I'm aware my hands look a little odd when I play, and I cannot help it, so I hope you enjoy my playing in the background instead :)

I learnt this today in 10 Minutes!

Found a baby bird having seizures

Live in country side and RSPCA will NOT come out this far, he has had a seizure, he’s currently stable now and is fluffed up sleeping into himself, I believe he’s a goldfinch, no clue how old, I have no idea what to do, but apparently this species of bird commonly get conditions that cause seizures, I want to hold him in my hand and comfort him in his possible last moments but my dad says to keep him in the box, I’m a huge animal empath and I want to save all of them 😭

Found this walkman (and phones) in an abandoned caravan from 2012 (identity check needed)

Would love if someone could tell me what year this is from, also it's so unbelievably clean it was hidden in a box in the caravan, don't worry everything was just rotting anyway so I didn't technically steal it, I think it will absolutely switch on if I get a battery and some of my tapes as I actually own a 1980s walkman that was fresh from the box and works perfectly, also found some old brick Phones and was wondering if anyone could help identify/ tell me how knackered they are and if I could by a miracle replace the battery get a charger and turn them on, questions are welcome!

Found these old phones in an abandoned caravan from 2012, can anyone tell me how knackered they are and if they could possibly be saved, and if they are cool or not lol

And possibly if I could sell them?

I (17F, normal) need help creating the funniest and most ridiculous surprise possible for my best friend (17M, ginger) for his 18th birthday.

My current idea is to show up unannounced at his house, get his mum to send him downstairs, and have him open the door to find me standing there in a giant inflatable dinosaur costume, blasting a birthday song from a speaker, while handing him either a stupid looking cake or two Big Macs because he loves McDonald’s.

Just wanted to add that we’ve known each other for 10+ years and basically grew up together. I love him a lot and he has seen me through my ups and downs and I’ve known him my entire life and I want to show him how much I care about him because I genuinely see him as my brother.

I’m open to changes in the costume and honestly open to tweaks from all angles if there are better, funnier, or more unhinged ideas.

The problem is, I feel like this can be even better.

He finds really stupid, random humour hilarious, so I’m looking for ideas that are chaotic, unexpected, and memorable. I’m open to improving the plan or scrapping it entirely if there’s something better.

The birthday is May 3rd next year, so I’ve got plenty of time to plan it properly.

What’s the funniest advice/ideas you’ve got?

The problem is, I feel like this can be even better.

He’s the type of person who finds completely random, stupid humour hilarious, so I’m looking for ideas that are funny, chaotic, unexpected, and memorable. I’m open to improving my current plan or scrapping it entirely if someone has an even dumber idea.

The birthday isn’t until May 3rd next year, so I have plenty of time to plan, prepare, and potentially make this significantly more ridiculous.

What’s the crappiest birthday surprise you’ve got?

Why does string spin around itself the closer it gets?

This isn’t really an intellectual question but I pulled a bit of string out of my shirt and while I was holding each end of it with both hands I noticed that every time it gets closer together it suddenly starts spinning around itself really fast, can a smart person please explain why this happens because I’m a nerd and I need to know the why behind literally everything, it won’t let me put photos of it for some reason so if you need context and an actual photo of it happening feel free to DM me!

Thanks!!

For context, I did have friends up until January 2025. It was a school friend group I’d had for around 10 years, but looking back they constantly made fun of me and honestly weren’t very good friends. I eventually left because they were really immature and found literally everything embarrassing. It got to the point where they convinced me even going to school was embarrassing, so I ended up missing a lot of my school years because of it.

Fortunately, I managed to get a place in college starting this September, which I’m excited about, but I’m also nervous about making friends. I’m autistic and sometimes worry I come across as a bit strange or awkward, even though once I’m comfortable I can actually be very extroverted. I don’t really struggle talking to people, but I think some people find it weird when someone they barely know talks to them like they’ve known them for years.

I’m worried I’ll just end up being a loner again in college. I don’t completely mind being alone, but I do kind of wish I had one person who was genuinely my best friend. I’ve realised I don’t really enjoy being the “extra” friend in a group where everyone already has closer friendships with other people. Obviously that’s normal and I understand it, but I think what I really want is to find another loner like me and become best friends with them lol.

Anyway, ask away! I'm unsure what sort of questions you may have but I'll answer every single one!!
