007 First Light on PS5 Pro: upgraded PSSR upscaling details

All of these “(New game launching) PS5 Pro Enhancements Detailed” blog posts are starting to sound exactly the same. Like literally copy/paste level lol From RE Requiem to now with 007.

“Blah blah..More detail..blah blah..cleaner image..blah blah..more stable in motion..” And then ofc the quote from the studio being like, “The best part of PSSR 2 is how little was required to implement the upgraded PSSR” Oh lol you don’t say..

Like I get it to an extent, they need to promote the Pro/new PSSR, but at least have some more game specific enhancements! Was a complete waste of time reading that lol

If it weren’t for 2nd chance I’d have ragequit by now. Literally every boss so far always within an inch of their life.

I always feel guilty for having it active lol But honestly my thought is that if Sekiro of all games has a second chance mechanic, then I feel it’s perfectly acceptable to use in Saros.

Also, side question, Is there a way to not have to fight the boss again when revisiting previous Biomes? Like in Returnal how you could choose to fight the boss again if you wanted, but there’s always another route to take into the next Biome. Unless I’ve missed it, have not seen anything like that here.

I know I’m a hypocrite, and complained about no VRR, but Saros has been AWESOME.

Just been straight up gorgeous and a joy to look at. Often forget it’s even a UE5 game. The no motion blur also really surprised me with how much better it makes everything.

I 100% like it more than Returnal. In just about every way. Zero complaints in that regard. Same type of challenge except now I don’t want to throw my controller out the window when I die. The narrative and character additions have been a very welcomed change. Switches up the monotony a bit. More cutscenes add a little extra flair, adds a layer of grounded reality and honestly make it a little more immersive for me.

The dualsense is vastly improved, as well as audio. HDR is phenomenal. No dropped frames. Enemy design and AI is more thoughtful and creative. Skill tree, Armor options.

I mean I literally do not have a single complaint or bad thing to say about it lol. Highly recommend.

I guess tbf though second chance was activated when it was down to just a few hits/one power shot left. Ngl I’m glad I did have that unlocked though because dying right at the end like that would’ve pissed me tf off lol

I know there’s all the complaints it’s “too easy” compared to Returnal, but I honestly don’t feel that it is. As many others have said it just feels more fair/forgiving and more accessible. I mean shit Sekiro is regarded as one of the hardest games out there and there’s a 2nd chance mechanic and fast travel.

Granted it’s only been maybe 5-6ish attempts total. Still feels like I’m underperforming.

I will say though the “one more run” addiction is significantly stronger here than with Returnal. After dying in Returnal I was pretty much done with it til next time lol

It was great in Returnal obviously, but for how much attention it got the adaptive triggers specifically, imo, weren’t really anything crazy.

It was mostly just the alt-fire L2 that was the whole standout thing. But at the same time games like Sniper Elite also implemented the same thing. There were still many games with better triggers imo, like Naughty Dog’s games, Insomniac, Capcom, Etc.

But here they’ve taken it next next level more than I expected. Where they finally implemented actual “feedback”, like with an assault rifle for example where each round kicks back the trigger. Plus expanding upon L2. I could go on about the dualsense here all day long lol

The haptics are also obviously the best I’ve seen yet. Especially as it changes with camera rotation. Like you’ll feel projectile vibrations on the left or right side depending on the camera. It became immediately apparent just in the opening with the typewriter.

By all appearances this case is much larger than the one I was using before. But interestingly enough now my case and thumb grips prevent proper closure. I have to remove the thumb grips so that it’s not constantly pressing the L3/R3 buttons while closed.

So now am looking at that slim-fit Spigen case that was very popular back when it launched. Thinking that might solve my problem.

Anyone have both of these that can confirm/deny the fit for me?

Actually a pretty awesome little trick. Sure you notice a very slight reduction in overall resolution sharpness. But far outweighed by all the other benefits you get with quality mode.. and at 50-60fps. Pretty awesome.

However only downside is it can kind of be annoying adjust PS5 system resolution setting back and forth if you go to play something else.
