Time Diver Eon Man is a really fun side scroller!

Picked this ROM cart up for cheap off eBay a little while ago after learning of the game and it's failed 1993 release. Its really fun to have a physical copy of it and it plays great on my new and retro hardware. Ive always enjoyed finding physical release carts and repros of foreign translations where I can. Unfortunately the shop that made these copies is no longer around.

Just wish they had produced a manual for the game that could be re-printed with a physical box!

Jefferson Barracks side by side photos Part 2

Continuation on a post I made the other day in honor of this little post's 200th Anniversary (some people were bothered that I called it a Bicentennial before).

The first photo shows what is the former WWII era theater. The parking lot today is where a series of Barracks once stood in the photos.

Second photos speaks for itself. Third photo is a squad from the 6th Infantry Regiment which was permanently garrisoned on the post before and between the World Wars.

Fourth and Fifth photos were a popular site for Soldiers to take souvenir shots. The "Old Spanish Gun" was reclaimed from a Spanish ship in Cuba during the war in 1898. It was presented to the post overlooking the Mississippi River as a gift in honor of the World's Fair in 1905 and has remained ever since. Im happy to report funding has recently been approved to restore and paint it along with several other guns on post.

Sixth photo ia self explanatory. Seventh is of a Cavalry "tug of war" on the parade field facing north where the Officer housing is today and the former Post Commanders house near the entry gate today. This one is probably the oldest photo in my personal collection.

Eighth photo is members of the Cavalry troop in front of what was their horse stables (now a maintenance shop). The ninth photo faces the Cavalry Barracks and the (then in-progress) infantry Barracks at the top of the hill which sit near the HQ building and Spanish gun today.

Enjoy!

Finally starting Grandia II!

New parent. Havent had a ton of time to dedicate to RPGs anymore but finally am sitting down and playing Grandia II. So far I like it a lot. It feels like a more polished version of FF7 with better graphics and audio. I really like the timed battle system!

Edit: everyone keeps asking. The controller is a RetrofightersDC wireless controller. Highly recommend them as an improvement over the originals.

Jefferson Barracks, MO Bicentennial Photos

Hey all. I was recommended this subreddit after a post I did in r/Army. Ive been taking side by side photos from postcards and RPPCs Ive collected of Jefferson Barracks, MO over the last year in honor of the post's founding in 1826. It remains in use by the Army Reserve, National Guard and Air Force today and is the oldest continually operating military installation west (barely) of the Mississippi.

I fell in love with this gem of a historical base. Its a very rare example of a post that has remained largely unchanged for well over a century, which is why ive been able to so easily identify where the photos were taken. The active side will be open to the public for a few hours on October 24th in honor of the Bicentennial! Ive got more photos on the way.

Enjoy!

Unique Carbine Stock

Picked up this unique looking cut down stock at a milsurp shop years ago for very little. My assumption was that its a Vietnam made item as I had heard of certain cut down variants of the Carbine amongst SOF and ARVN units.

The construction certainly seems correct for the era (flat head screws, glue, etc). I fit it to my Carbine once and it fit pretty well. It appears to have split down the bottom at one point and was repaired. No markings aside from the "4" written twice under the top cover.

Thoughts?

Numbers 299 & 300!

Finally broke 300 carts in the collection this weekend! I previously owned Bubble Bobble but it was a dead cart. After many attempts I just couldn't get it to work in original or new hardware so I put off getting another until now.

Ive been focusing on games from the first 5 or 6 letters of the alphabet lately since thats the lightest part of my collection currently. Desert Commander came with the box and manual as well!

Custom Rosan fighter

Waiting on the spear to get here lol

Mix and march of various parts with a mask I made by clipping and sanding some detaols from it. Painted all the armor to match and kept it simple.

Is it just me or does anyone else see these pieces as an extension of leg armor?

I have taken to painting these shin/ankle pieces to match whatever armor Im doing for a kit. For whatever reason it feels like most armor kits leave the area exposed anyway and it's a good way to fill the space between the foot and the lower leg armor.

Thoughts?

Finished my first 30MF Custom

Didnt get too fancy with it but decided to mix n max bits from a few different kits, painted the armor and weapons. I wanted to add just enough color to tie in the arm bits from the original model. All in all Im pretty happy with it. I experimented with the rock texturing and log too since Ive never really paint plastic to look like natural features before. Only regret was how the shield lines turned out. I just couldn't get them as clean as I wanted despite redoing them a few times.

Ive got another kitbash in the works on my bench already!

Mystery Saudi Uniform?

Recently got this Saudi-made Desert 3-Color Uniform jacket, pants and shirt. I'm familiar with the MUAF maker in other Saudi uniforms but cant place what unit its from. The tabs read "Thunder Bolt" according to Google but i cant seem to find any unit that fits that description.

Anyone here have an idea of what unit this refers to?

Images of Jefferson Barracks, MO ca.1908-1909

A series of photos I took in the same spots as real photo post cards (RPPCs) Ive been collecting from life around Jefferson Barracks over 110 years ago. So much of the main post is still preserved its easy to identify the locations. In most cases, the Soldiers in the photos are likely from the 6th Infantry Regiment which was Headquartered at JB from the 1830s to 1940.

JB is a Guard/Reserve base today, but remains *technically* one of the oldest continually operating US Army bases west of the Mississippi river; 200 years as of 2026.

PSA: Side by Side comparison of fake and real carts

For all photos, the real cart is on top and fake is on bottom

I learned about this game a few years back and had looked up prices thinking it was too common/cheap to worry about fake carts but I was wrong. I recently got a real one and decided it was a good way to do a side by side.

The easiest and most immediately obvious features when you cant crack it open is the logo at the top: originals are lower profile whereas copies are more deeply inset. The text for "Gameboy" is also slightly off.

The other give away is the label- in particular the badly pixelated edges of the ESRB rating.

The quality of the plastic used for the cart itself is also notable when held next to a real one; fakes are thinner, cheaper plastic. Also the screw is shorter and cheaper.

Inside, differences are obvious and the most notable thing being the big globs of material in the board and the configuration of the chips and size of the board overall.

Im sure there are other better quality fakes (I have a really good fake of Pokemon Sapphire that blows this one out of the water). Just figured Id share these since its a relatively cheap game you wouldnt think would be profitable to reproduce.

Enjoy!
