Car staring up weak

Hey guys, been loving my 996 ever since I got it almost a year ago. This is the second time it’s happened in about a couple of days. I’ll go to start up my car from the parking garage at work and it’ll start up weak around 600 rpm and idle there. A few seconds later it’ll just quietly stall out. Second crank will start it no problem. Anyone had similar issues they can share resolutions? Leaning that it’s a fuel issue somewhere. Thanks!!!!

Marks Thragg punch vs Anissa

Let’s say Mark punches Anissa straight in the fucking face with the same power he did to Thragg in this moment. Is she tanking that or getting knocked the fuck out?

The work duo

My boys at work. Top is my personal office space, bottom is for any computer repair and prep work.

My legendary experience so far, summarized by graph

By the time I remembered Queen Bee I already was almost done with Wall of Flesh preparation. That shit sucked but the fight wasn’t bad. She’s not on the list but I’ll go back to her.

What is up with the auctions?

Sorry if this has been posted before but I can’t find anything. There’s SO many cars that are sold over their base price that you can just find in the auto show. For something rare like a 993 GT2 that you can’t just get easily I understand selling it above suggested price but sometimes I want a car at a discount like a murcielago and I swear every one of them was over base price for buyout. And people also just wind up buying them out even when trying to bid!

What to do with Roquefort?

So I LOVE cheese, there’s plenty of cheeses that others find pungent that I love. But I think I’ve found my limit and a bit sad. I bought some Roquefort from Sam’s Club and it is the most pungent cheese I’ve ever had, so much so it’s a bit much for me. Is there anyway you guys eat with anything else? Thanks!

Got stickers for the 996!

Went to caffeine and octane for Jacksonville, FL. Met some awesome car owners including of course Porsche. I’ve had some stickers for the 986 since it’s been with me for years but I just now got some for my 996! Very excited to start adding stickers. Show me yours!

Love my M96s.

Got them both back pretty the same time. 986 needed a new shifter and 996 needed new struts. Oh Joy!

The truth about the 996 (986 counts too)

I feel like this is something not really mentioned but very important to understand. The 9x6s M96 engines have gotten bad reps for being unreliable engines that just blow up and now you’re out starting $15K for a rebuild if it’s not so bad, and there’s some other small things but the M96 boogeyman is really most of it with the IMS, bore scoring, milky oil coolant mix, etc.

A huge problem for the 9x6s is that they’re the easiest Porsche sports cars to enter into. BUT, they are just as hard as any other Porsche to STAY into. 4 years of 986 ownership, trust me I know well lol. And I’ve also done some work already on my 996 like bearing replacement and front struts.

I feel as if this creates an issue where many people buy into these cars but are really not prepared for the ownership costs and it creates a larger amount of examples that are bad because they become neglected. Either they aren’t driven anymore out of fear or they are driven but not properly maintained and just beaten up until the next owner comes to look at it and they become the victim of the “M96 unreliability”.

I do agree these engines are not bulletproof and do need care. However with care they will take you far. Just have money put aside and drive the thing.

Anyone here with high millage examples??? My 986 has 155,000 miles and she still goes out every weekend. Just recently did a drive back from Orlando which was 150 miles.

Is that a Porsche?

In all seriousness it’s a nice Evora. I don’t see them often here in Florida.

They’re trying so hard

I know this has been posted time and time and time and time again but I just decided to see how the listings look on EBay since the reservations opened and so many of them say “SHIPPING SAME DAY- IN HAND- SHIPPING ASAP-!” And it’s so satisfying…. I hope you lose your moneys worth.

What was the cheapest pre 996 911s ever were?

Might sound confusing but I’m just doing this for research purposes and such data is a bit hard to come by. What was the cheapest pre 996 911s were going for and around what time? I’ve heard stories about how you could get one from the 70s like an early G series around the 90s for around $10,000, granted base model. Just want to know if anyone can recall such information.

Thanks!

How much have you used your Zento Signature?

Got the stone brass limited model a bit over a month ago and it very quickly jumped to becoming my absolute favorite pen of all that I have, even over my fountain pens. I’ve already almost finished a volume of my cyber security studies exclusively on this pen alone front to back, over 100 pages. It’s an amazing pen and I’m a bit sad it already has a few wear marks but it’s not gonna be perfect forever.

Any choices of ink? I’m very already gone through a few cartridges of different inks from the stock Zento it comes with, the Uniball One P, Zebra Sarasa, and the Uniball 207+ which I’m currently using and is my favorite.
