My monotub has been colonizing pretty fast. I didn’t add any excess water but there seems to be a ton of hydration in the box and on the walls. I have low FAE going on right now due to still colonizing but today I noticed what appears as myco metabolites pooling only in a few areas around where the wall meets the sub. do I need to worry, do I need more FAE? Let a brother know
I bought a bag of already colonized spawn (not an AIO Bag). When it arrived the bag look decently colonized but it wasn’t solid. So I gave it a break and shake it it’s coming back stronger than ever. My question is, do I wait till this fully colonizes again or do I do another break and shake and speed this up? the new mycelium is super dense in this picture. Let me know what you think.
Does anyone have/have used or knows where to get an LC syringe of Full metal APE x Galactic gorilla? I grew them a while ago in an all in one bag and they produced greatly. Would love to grow a bigger flush on my own
I have an MVP cake that gave one small flush and then stalled completely and I can’t figure out why. Humidity in the tub is at 95-99%. Temp at 77. It seems to have primordea on it but it’s been that way for days. No bubbles of moisture on the top and I misted yesterday. This is the first time something like this has happened to me. What can I do to boost pinning. Also, as of today there looks to be possible bacteria on it. Very disappointed
Looking to inoculate soon and was wondering if I should try drippy corn, or stay with 5 grain. Or maybe even Inoculate an AIO bag. What are your favorites and have provided you with good results? Thanks in advance
So I recently got a grow bin from Midwest grow kits. Currently I have 3 AIO bags that I took out of the bags and put in the bin. The humidity says it’s at 99%. I took out the hygrometer and let it dry to make sure it wasn’t the unit. After a half hour in my home it was down to 60% so I plugged it back in the bin. Come this morning it’s at 99% against. So I upped the FAE this morning and the percentage hasn’t gone down at all. However half the humidity droplets on the roof of my bin have evaporated. Do I still mist the bin or do I wait till the number comes down to 85-90%. All block are in early fruiting /pin stages. Any advice?
This is a galactic gorilla cake. First flush was fantastic and everything after has stalled. Cake is moist to the touch. There’s not much hydration in the side of the bag and I’m not sure why. The room is 76 degrees and hotter during the day time. My other bag next to it has the moisture all over the inside of the bag. It looks to me like the mycelium stalled. Any ideas how I can change that or do I get rid of it? Dry out the cake a little? If I add more moisture I feel it will create puddling. Any advise is appreciated
I have an AIO galactic gorilla cake that had one amazing flush and then the subsequent flushes petered off into aborts. The top of my substrate is only producing one or 2 mushrooms but the sides are spitting out pins which are getting bruised and aborted by the bag. Temp in the room is between 73 and 78 (night time and day time) no direct sunlight and there’s moisture still on the walls of the bag ( not a lot though). Does anyone know why the top wouldn’t be producing? How do I know if my cake is dead? No contam visible.

I’m on a second flush of an AIO grow bag. The cake has shrunk a bit but there’s still droplets and hydration on the bag walls. My pins were growing well the past 2 days and this morning everything grow a bit but when I got home from work today, some of the smaller pins were had black heads (def aborts) but my larger fruits are about 3 inches and the caps are starting to grey a little. When I got home I gave it some FAE, and resealed with a binder clip as it has been. The bag has a breathable patch and another strip cut and sealed with spore tape. Do you think the larger fruits will continue to grow or should I harvest?
This is my first time growing magic mushrooms. I bought a bag of Full Metal APE x galactic gorilla which already yielded one ounce dry in the first flush. I cleaned the substrate and I’ve got some fruiting going on but I want to know if it’s ok to mist occasionally because the bag doesn’t have as much droplets on it as it used to. I am doing FAE once a day. Like I said, fruiting is happening but I don’t want the substrate to dry out. Thanks in advance, this is a fantastic hobby
Melatonin ---> 5-MeO-T
60g of pTSA is dissolved in 300ml water, after full dissolution 15g of melatonin is added, now the reaction is refluxed for 8h, when it's done flask is put on a side to cool down a bit. Next 30% NaOH solution is added until pH12 is reached, after night in a fridge crytals are filtered and washed with solid amount of ice cold water, yielding decently pure mexamine (8,06g / 62%)
5-MeO-T ---> 5-MeO-DMT
5g of 5-MeO-T is dissolved in 100ml MeOH, beaker is put on an ice bath and temp brought to 0°C, with strong stirring 1,9ml of 37% formaldehyde is added followed after 10-15 sec by 0,5g of NaBH4. This is repeated 5 more times, at intervals of 15min allowing temp to go back to 0°C, so in total there was added 11,4ml formaldehyde and 3g NaBH4. Reaction temp was kept beetwen 0-10°C. When it's finished, r-r is transferred to a flask and MeOH stripped via distillation. Next 150ml of water is added to the flask, followed by 30% NaOH until pH12 is reached, solution is transferred into sep funnel, extracted with 2x25ml DCM, organic layer are combined and dried over Na₂SO₃, solution is filtered and evaporated on a hot plate leaving thick, golden honey goo.
Now I fucked up a bit and tried to crystallize the product using ethanol, xylene, even converting to hcl salt, non of these methods worked, I lost significant amount of the amine, giving an abysmal yield, but after all that hustle dissolving everything in boiling heptane and freeze precipitation came to be the winner, giving beautifully smelling 5-MeO-DMT.
In both cases reaction run very cleanly.
