24 hours into iRacing and PC gaming
No one around home cares so I thought I’d post here.
The last few months I’ve spent a few hours every day in my sim rig playing GT7/ACC/F125 and have come to sincerely enjoy the experience. I have however had the same rookie complaints as everyone else, specifically the behavior in lower level rooms making it damn near impossible to grind into higher levels. Someone mentioned I should try iRacing for cleaner racing. Making the switch to PC is something that’s been on my mind since I realized my PS5 wouldn’t utilize my whole 49in suw monitor. Got my entry level gaming pc yesterday and have had my iRacing account for right at 24 hours. Immediately noticed a higher quality of racing competition and way more fun. If you’re thinking about the switch from console to PC I can’t recommend enough.

Is Jeffrey Combs literally everybody??
Decided to build a reanimator deck and it looks like I’ve found The Reanimator himself Jeffrey Combs! For years I’ve seen Jeffrey Combs all around me and been called crazy for it but here he is again! I know Star Trek is coming so there will be at least a dozen cards featuring him but I had no idea WOTC was already using him!!!

IIY5 10 Month Check In
IH777 UHR. Worn daily since the start of the contest. Initial soak and 2 washes. I cannot believe how soft these are getting. Weak spots noted at the upper L corner of R back pocket and one spot in the crotch that’s eventually going to open up. How’s Y5 going for yall?

Fell in love with sports mode today
When I got the game 2 months ago I hadn’t played a racing game since Cruisin USA in the arcade as a kid so I kept off sports mode for the most part until I felt like I had a good grasp on the game. Finished the menus, got my collector level to 70, and hit 80% event completion so I figured it was time. I’ve tried a few of the races and while my DR is a D my SR has stayed at S. I realize it’s a grind getting out of the dirtier rookie rooms but it just hasn’t been any fun. The kart race in the dailies looked interesting though so I got a kart, slapped a silly redbull livery on it, and tried it out. No DR tracking so everyone seemed more relaxed and it was the most fun I’ve had with the game. I had no idea how bad I’d been pushing. So after a couple hours and a few podiums I decided to try the B race in a BRZ gt300 and went from p12 to p5 first try. So much fun. Are kart events popular or are they more rare?

New to Fanatec
Hi yall! Got into sim racing a couple of months ago and admittedly didn’t do any real research because my rig was basically free. A Thrustmaster T598. It was fine over the last 2 months but a week ago it developed the dreaded disconnect issue. I reached out to Thrustmaster but because I got it used there was basically no help for me. So I decided to actually do some research and get something nicer. Well I’ve been using a Fanatec Podium DD1 F1 set with a Clubman v3 pedal set with clutch delete for 2 days now on GT7. All I can say is wow. Night and day difference. It makes the t598 feel like a toy. I got divebombed in a corner and it literally ripped the wheel out of my hands on impact. Any of you still running a DD1? Any reason to upgrade to QR2 if I’m not planning on replacing the wheel? Oh and in closing avoid Thrustmaster.

Thinking of converting…
Hi yall I have been running a Thrustmaster T598 on my ps5 playing GT7 and F125 but I think I’m ready to upgrade to something a little nicer. I found a really great deal on a Fanatec Podium DD1 F1 with a set of clubsport v3 pedals and am wondering with it being a little older if it was still a worthwhile upgrade over the T598. Thanks for any advice
