Any brothers currently married who make minimum wage or are "low income"

Asalamwalakum.

Just honest curiosity. Times can get tough, jobs can be lost and sometimes you can find love that crosses the responsibility threshold because trust is there.

Just wanted to ask any brothers who are married despite making less or in the US below $50k USD.

$50k USD is the median across all states so below that is below the ease in living, it's completely possible to survive and be happy making $50k USD but for Walis who ask you how much you make its considered disrespectful and to the sisters we see on this subreddit and others it's also considered bad.

Are there any good stories of brothers who have been married or gotten married despite these circumstances?

At a work meeting and its disgusting how glorified Israel is whenever it's something unethical

Salam.

I'm at a work event and just overheard something crazy by the person on stage, a Israeli start up that capitalizes on health insurance agencies. They developed a software that makes you scan your face to find health points to assess if you live long. That information is given to life insurance companies to offer you policies. Living till 80? More incentivized to send you tons of policies. Sickly, smoking, drugie? Less likely to be sent a life insurance policy and if you look to sign up it'll be expensive.

If you want to make money, think like an Israeli, scummy, unethical, targeting the most vulnerable, and throwing away the rules and guidance of Islam. Absolutely crazy how companies love the greedy software Israel creates to help corporations target people and skin off anything of value.

Is there any android keyboard that doesn't copy the words you write or record your messages?

Hi all,

It dawned on me after watching Gamers Nexus's video about LG spying and recording audio and converting it into text and that whatever I'm typing is probably being sent to some company that sells it. It's free data for them, I want to find a keyboard that's local and privacy-focused.

Any recommendations?

Got recommended a product.

There is a website deluxcctv that was recommended in the ad above. There are tons of products they have claiming to do 4k recording.

And this is why I don't like staying in other people's homes. Hotels are hard but still doable. Where the device uploads the videos and to what servers that sick people view makes this even worse.

Salam sisters, would you ever marry a man soley for safety?

I am in a situation where I am speaking to a sister, have been for around 2 months. I feel as if 2 months is enough time to build trust and closeness, call it friendship if you will.

I talked to her and her situation is peculiar, having to do with immigration. She has been in the US her whole life and has never stepped foot outside the US but still.

My mother has spoken to her mother and Ive spoken to her mother as well and Allhumdulillah I'd like to believe it's good.

Since I am blind to this type of common sense and since you sisters watch a lot of shows and reels about relationships as well as having your friends who are in relationships talk to you I wanted to ask would women be willing to marry someone just for safety? Disregard his qualities or attractiveness and just marry for the sake of safety?

I have deep worries about being someone who is getting married to someone who has someone else in their heart, someone who doesn't really care about me as a person just that I am kind and won't abuse her and provide her the safety she seeks.

I don't know how to approach this to her and ask her, yes she could lie but are there signs I should be looking out for?

I left this open to brothers as well since you might have been in such a relationship or offer good Islamic advice. InshAllah please brothers and sisters keep this post Islamicly related and offer genuine advice.

What do you often do with phones that have a part that is as expensive as purchasing a new phone?

I have 2 S21 Ultras with broken screens. OEM is pretty expensive with ebay sellers selling them at $280-300 while aftermarket is easily breakable, limited hz, and the brightness sucks. The phone itself works great and even has good battery life but it doesn't make sense to purchase a new screen or an aftermarket when I can get a new one.

What do you all do with phones that aren't worth the repair part?

To those sharing garbage advice, please keep it to yourself.

I think I speak for everyone when I say, shut up, nobody wants to hear what you have to say.

I keep seeing posts telling guys and girls that...

  • Height doesn't matter
  • Weight doesn't matter
  • Money doesn't matter
  • Mehr doesn't matter
  • Looks don't matter

Amongst a few other things... I don't want to hear it, I don't care that you think a certain aspect which obviously freakin matters doesnt matter to you probably because it doesn't affect you. Shut up! Sincerely from one brother to another Muslim, we don't want to hear you. If you want to offer that advice get married despite the issue and report back with a success story, a successful story will do more good and provide more hope than your garbage advice.

The reason the above do matter is because it's been seen repeatedly over and over and over again. That’s why it matters because it's facts, not something that everyone can ignore just because it doesn't affect YOU.

Don't work for OKTA

OKTA is a company software development company out of SF and has quite a big outreach in terms of tech. They opened a new office in Tel Aviv so please avoid using their tech as well so you don't end up feeding information to Israel about yourself.

Brothers I've accepted I'm ugly. Those who married outside the US and brought someone back how happy are you?

Hey Salam,

I've just accepted that I can either wait and grow older and become bitter waiting for someone to never like me or just find someone outside the US who may be willing to marry me.

Like every other person it's just the story of ghosting, no respect when being questioned, and lack of care. It's honestly sad but I'm understanding why some guys who end up with women who don't feel attracted to them are fine.

If you married someone outside the US how happy are you? What was the process like of bringing them to the US.

To the few women who have brought in husband's from abroad I'd also like your opinions.

How do I stop being the "Safe Choice" and start being someone sisters actually want to speak to?

I left this open to both brothers and sister because I just need the help.

I've come to realize that besides being average and being content with life Allhumdulillah and living within my means it's not enough if I seek marriage.

The brothers who attend the masjids marriage event are a fun bag of guys but in the end height does wonders for character and it's hard to compete with. Looks matter a lot regardless of fitness.

I don't have the ability to throw money around and go to Europe every year or drive a German. I own my old 2009 "luxury" car. I support my parents, I go to the gym, I play video games, I have a stable job and career, I'm just your average Jameel (Joe, if you get the joke). I try to be funny.

I simply can't compete with the standards that are idolized nowadays and in the market of "oh there is something better" I am the one who is getting looked over. I don't want to be that guy anymore.

  • Not willing to use drugs (e.g., steroids) to build muscle mass
  • Cannot commit 20–30 hours per week to gym training. But I work out regularly.
  • Financial situation doesn't support a lavish lifestyle; can live comfortably but not match a partner's father's level of financial support
  • Believes a partner living beyond his means is a mismatch worth avoiding
  • Maintains a facial care routine and good hygiene, but hasn't seen visible improvement in appearance
  • Won't wear makeup, citing conflict with Islamic values around imitating women
  • Updated wardrobe to business casual/more polished clothing
  • Communication style has shifted toward a more formal, customer-service-like register; used consistently outside of family/friend contexts
  • Concerned this speaking style may read as overly businesslike, though not rude or corporate-sounding
  • Open to improving communication style for closer/personal relationships

So I ask, how do I get the option to speak to more women so I can find someone who actually wants to get married and InshaAllah become the person that excites her? Because if I don't she'll never want to take the chance to even talk to me.

How can a Muslim meet another Muslim on Instagram (Halal) without breaking the Wali trust barrier and seek marriage?

AsalamAlakum, I'm looking to get married and I've been told, seen, and know people who got married through Instagram. What is a Halal way I can meet Muslims who are also seeking marriage on the app?

Also I had a question on the issues of meeting people this way, I don't honestly know if it's completely halal or not or if the rules need to be broken for it work/meet others online without parents knowledge or a Walis knowledge.

Do I need to build a follower base first? Do I post content? How do I find and message someone through Instagram?

Please if you have met your spouse through it are it's something working for you please please please help. JizahKhalah.

Sisters, do YOU want Muslim men to approach you publicly for marriage?

I've seen in a lot of the women posting about these issues (being invisible, everyone around them getting married)

So if there was a poll I would have done it but I just want insignt into understanding what women want, if possible can you give us a bracket of your age like of your 26 just say 20s and yes or no.

Regardless of the halal and haram implications of such I just want to know what women, specifically in the western world are expecting, we can have a discussion of the religious side of it on another discussion post. This is just data collecting and for me to understand if I should be approaching women my age and asking for their insta.

Also want to state that a lot of brothers do fear approaching women. I've personally just given greeting such as "AsalamAlakum" and been given silence or a nasty eye so the fears are absolutely warranted. What am I doing wrong and if a brother was to approach what should he expect?

What options even exist?

I've used...

  • Reddit ISO
  • Muzz
  • Salams
  • PureMatrimony
  • Facebook groups
  • WhatsApp groups
  • inPairs
  • Muslimah

I've made an Instagram far too late but apparently people can meet others off it.

What other platforms exist? What options are people women out there using? It literally should not be this hard to find a woman who is also serious about marriage and actually wants to talk.

We can't be that cooked in life. What halal ways besides the masjid exist because I don't have that option. My masjid has no connection to any matchmaking event and inPairs does ruin a lot of it. The local matchmaking mixer is a humiliation ritual when you actually see what happens with the guys that show up and who the women actively gravitate towards. This is not an option.

Subreddit to ask what to buy when traveling.

Hi, I'll be traveling to Europe soon and as a lot of luxury products or niche unique products come from Europe I wanted to find out and ask about what products I should be looking at in Europe that the states don't have. Is there any sub that would be able help me figure this out?

I hate having been poor. What nobody tells you is that even if you escape poverty your family doesn't. If you have any attachment or feelings of helping them or supporting them then good on you, but you'll never experience so many basics of life. You'll always be struggling helping out while balancing your own shit.

You can't buy a car, always some shitbox, you can never buy a home, you get married you still need to try and help out your parents and siblings, you can't afford Healthcare and it's easier to buy L-shaped metal and chrome to dome than affording mental support.

This stupid country and it God damned policies have so many people screwed up. There isn't anything I can do. Absolutely nothing. I abhore vices, words I can't say on this platform but I'll never waste money on drinking, sex, smokes, drugs, whatever other vices exist. Im not in a position to join a gym where I can take out my frustrations, I don't have money to even do vices if I somehow wanted to.

Theres so much I can't even say on reddit. I don't have friends because talking about all this would be too much for people, it'd be too much for normal people who weren't poor, who don't understand because they don't need to deal with it, those who don't have to worry about their family. God dammit dude! I don't even think I'd be here if it wasn't some fucked up feeling of repayment towards my family. The stuff people do together and I'm here thinking damn I need to buy groceries.

I don't want to be kind anymore, selfish people get so much farther ahead. They don't need to worry, it's not of use anymore replace it and move forward. You are having trouble well there are idiot people who are dumb and kind and will help you regardless of repayment. Use them and move on. Why can't I do that?
