Are people actually able to get off on smutty books?

I've seen some people saying they prefer writen porn for getting off, so I was wondering how that even works. I read smutty fiction myself, and while it does get me 'hot and bothered' sometimes, it's never to the point of reaching orgasm. I usually need visual and auditory stimulation for that.

Like, how would you even masturbate while reading a book?

Does anyone here manage to do that, or is it just a thing people say, but actually mean that smutty books get them feeling horny/excited, but not that they masturbate while reading them?

If someone wrote fanfiction about you, would you read it?

> Fan fiction (or fanfic) is a fictional story written by fans using the characters, settings, or plots from an existing, copyrighted work like a book, TV show, movie, or video game. It is a creative, community-driven medium where writers explore alternative storylines, "what if" scenarios, or untold perspectives.

TIL that there was an unaired pilot for The Middle, where all the Hecks, except Brick, were played by other actors

In your opinion/experience, which are the most shippable fandoms?

From my 20+ years of reading fanfiction, I would say Harry Potter and Game Of Thrones/A Song Of Ice and Fire are some of the most shippable fandoms out there.

Both these fandoms have rich lore and so many characters, that it's a seemingly unending source of ships and fanfics. They also had a pretty long runtime so that also helped installing them in the cultural zeitgeist for many people.

And with ever new material still coming out today for both of them, their potential for ships and shipping is still kept alive and strong.

My family grows a lot of tomatoes every year, and they mostly preserve them just as tomato juice. But I want to start preserving some of them as the whole product, pulp included (preferably not in the freezer). What are some good methods to do that?

Each year we have so many tomatoes, we always end up gifting them to family and friends. And each year my parents preserve a few dozen liters of tomato juice. But I want to preserve the pulp as well, since I already use canned tomatoes often, so the pulp would be of more use to me, then just the juice. We also don't have a lot of space in the freezer, so he can preserve them there.

What are some good recipes to preserving tomatoes whole? Either as chuncks or maybe as sauce/paste?

Does anyone else feel like Youtube Shorts has been getting worse since they removed the "dislike" button?

Since they removed the "dislike" button from Youtube Shorts a few days ago, I've been getting a lot of stuff on my feed that do not fit my usuall watching habits. There are a lot more political stuff, religious stuff, even some manosphere/red pill stuff. I never watch that type of videos and I don't engage with that on my Youtube channel. I don't know if I'm being biased, because it really annoyed me that they removed the "dislike" button, but it feels like there's a lot more stuff like that being recommended on the feed now.

Has anyone else noticed that?
