Tested a 365nm LED tube against a NOS florescent black light.

Did this test when trying to figure out if I wanted to use LED or fluorescent black lights for my home arcade/trip cave. And to see how close LEDs could get (I hate the purple glow of the 395nm LEDs)

On the left is a 9w 2ft LED tube using 365nm LEDs and a woodsglass envelope like old fluorescent bulbs (blocks visible light) and on the right is a new fluorescent black light bulb 2ft T8.

Good price for 250 gallon tank? Should I ask about a 500?

Looking to swap from leasing our tank to owning one and got a quote from a local company for a 250 gallon install for $2,075. Additionally they publish their prices online and will do deliverys in that range for $2.29 per gallon, $2.19 per gallon if you use their trash service.

If we had a 500 though we would be able to get it for $1.89 per gallon/ $1.79 per gallon from them.

I'm torn if we should ask about a 500 gallon tank or not. We used to use 1400 gallons a year, but when we install central air and got a heat pump we dropped our consumption to maybe 150 gallons a year. Their 500 gallon rate would be about $2 cheaper than our current dealer though, and really changes the math for how much to run the heat pump vs furnace.

How much more would you expect a 500 gallon install to be vs a 250 gallon?

Newfoundland Birth Records?

I applied for myself and my daughter based on my great grandfather from Quebec, but recently I started looking into my wifes ancestry based on a comment from her aunt on facebook about my wifes great great grandmother being from Newfoundland before moving to Massachusetts. Figured getting her citizenship this way would be better than the whole spousal sponsorship process.

This is still preliminary mostly, tracing the line my wife's aunt mentioned, which quickly turned this up.

With Quebec there are so many people the process to get a baptism records and/or birth certificates is pretty well documented, but I'm having a harder time finding out what I would be trying to get from Newfoundland and from whom?

He said it was the funkiest thing he had signed that night.

Got this signed at tangle wood. It's a custom lava lamp with wax that glows under a black light and doesn't use a lightbulb.

Got my UV lava lamp signed by Weird Al

I'll need to look into clear coating it to protect long term, but pretty happy with how it looks under black light

Preemptively replace flyback?

I have a Sharp Image SI-727R-DS arcade monitor I bought a couple years ago non-working, fixed it, and have been using it in a MAME cabinet of mine ever since.

I love monitors picture quality and that it can accept 15.7khz and 24khz signals.

Only issue is the 15khz whine is pretty bad, much worse than any other monitor I have and my wife absolutely hates it. Looking online on eBay for this chassis I've noticed that almost all of them do not have the flyback, leading me to think that might be what tends to fail on these.

Well I got my hands on a couple of compatible aftermarket flybacks and I'm wondering if should just replace the flyback preemptively?

In my state I can't seem to find any second form of ID that I can provide for my 3 year daughter. Massachusetts doesn't provide IDs for those under 14, and even something like a fishing license is only for those over the age of 15

I haven't found much about what success people have had in this situation, it seems very mixed. Some say they've been rejected with an explanation in their cover letter, and others say vaccination records have worked for them, but others say they havn't as well.

I was going to attach the following letter immediately after the scan of her US passport to avoid the possibility of them missing it in something like a cover letter. Curious if people think this is all that should be required or if they think any changes to it would make sense.
