Car hunting

For those who bought a manual car for around £2k–£3k, what did you end up getting, and how many miles were on it? Have you had to spend much on repairs? If so, what needed fixing, and how has the car been since you bought it? I’m just trying to get an idea of what to expect

Driving 1yr after passing

Hello people,
So I have recently passed my (manual) test and I’m currently saving up for a car to hopefully buy in a years time.

I’m just a bit worried about how long I will have to go without driving before I can get a car for myself

I don’t really have any cars to share or drive

Im also not old enough to car rent (22) and obviously theirs requirement to have had the licence for a certain amount of time too

Any advice ?

Aggressive mother

Hey so today I had miscommunication with my mother that led to an argument which resulted in her trying to physically attack me. Luckily my sisters were there to block her from seriously hurting me it was just a shoe thrown at me this time.

She’s always resulted to really bad anger over small simple disagreements. she has had a kn*fe on her own sister before luckily there was people to stop her

I genuinely believe my mother would kill me if she can do that to her own sister
I’ve tried to get her into therapy and some sort of anger management
She’s very a hot headed Nigerian woman that doesn’t believe in therapy despite her working in mental health !

Once I finish my degree and move out I am cutting all ties with her. My sister is also doing the same when she moves out

I just have to manage this summer holiday living here with her I as have work then I can go back to uni

Our real is always much better when we are far apart and I can just breathe easier being away from her, I believe she is the reason for my intense anxiety growing up

Driving license

How long did it take for y’all’s license to come after passing ?

It’s coming up to two weeks and I still haven’t got it, I know I have to wait at least one more week to escalate this, but damn even my examiner said they are rolling them out quickly and everyone told me they got theirs within a week

I just hate walking around with my passport as ID😩

Autism referral

My GP is certain that I have high functioning autism
There’s a lot of stigma in the black community about this and I had lovely Nigerian lady so she understands the stigma around it within the African community
I’ve never felt so validated in my life
I’ve struggled with so many things for so long but I felt so validated and seen when I explained all my symptoms, I couldn’t even get it out as I started to get overwhelmed and cried but I had prepped my notes so she just took a look at them.
she told me how it’s harder to diagnose in women because of high masking which she explained what I’ve been doing and how it links to my anxiety- I have been put in medication for this.

She told me she was proud of how much I achieved despite this, I cried so so much

Just have to wait 18 months to be seen unfortunately

Anyone else is welcome to share their experience about their referral process or even diagnosis process
