ASRock, Please Respond

Edit: I'm aware this isn't the official ASRock but please read the post. I don't know where else to go.

I'm located in Canada and I've been trying to inquire about an RMA for my motherboard and CPU as both have died. I cannot seem to get a hold of them and I'm getting frustrated.

About halfway through July I began troubleshooting a build that would no longer post and managed to figure out that the motherboard had died and took the CPU with it. Having been able to swap out hardware, test various combos of components and other troubleshooting methods, it became clear both items had stopped working.

July 26:

- Filled out the RMA inquiry form with all the details. Hitting the Submit button did not work. It goes to a blank page and nothing happens. I re-tried several times but no luck.

- I found their webmaster inbox and notified them about the page issue.

July 27:

- I got a response and was asked to describe my questions about the RMA, which I did, and they would forward the info their RMA department.

- I haven't received anything since.

July 26 onwards:

- I have sent an email to rma@asrockamerica.com and user@asrockamerica.com, inquiring about how to start an RMA.

- Haven't heard back.

I have also visited the store from which I bought the motherboard to ask what I can do. On ASRock's support page it suggests that customers should contact the vendor first. Memory Express in this case, had never heard of this or have ever done an RMA via their store, according to staff.

I'm at a loss. I've done RMA's with different brands over many years in the past but never has it been this difficult to get a response.

MiniDV to PC - No FireWire Port Available

Edit: Figured I could just remove my graphics card, use onboard video (via motherboard) and use the FireWire card in the PCIe slot. It'll be a tedious procedure as I've got a small form factor build, but it's a way. I found legacy drivers and even the software I used back in the day, which still works!

-------------------

It's been years since I used this bad boy. Many videos were captured in the mid/late 2000's and all tapes were at one point transferred to a modern PC using a FireWire PCIe card. I'd like to start recording on it again.

While I still have the FireWire PCIe adapter, my PC no longer has a spare slot for it (different motherboard with only one slot occupied by GPU). I've been trying to find the right hardware to make this happen but I just cannot figure out what the best method is and what products are trustworthy.

I'm also trying to remember the software that I used (if it even works on W11). It was a lightweight capture software that would automatically detect scenes, split it all up, preserve data and simply throw them into a designated folder. No specific editing suites were required.

Many thanks!

Happy Long Weekend, Canada!

Price hikes overnight. On July 30th, the Asus Prime 5070 Ti went for $1199.99 CAD, now $1559.99 (OOS). The rest have gone up far beyond that. 5080's start at ~$2200 (the 5090 had an MSRP of $2899.99). This is absolutely nuts. I'm so glad I got my build sorted out long before the insanity. If you're in the same boat, please take care of your system like it's your newborn child.

ASRock RMA Broken - Anyone Else?

I've been trying to submit an RMA form through ASRock's official support page. After filling out all the fields and hitting Submit, it goes to a blank page with foreign text, translating to: "The world is full of beautiful places." and then nothing happens.

Is ASRock actively making it impossible for customers to do this?

I have a dead B850I Lightning WiFi on my hands and I'm trying to send it in.

Edit: Canada

ASRock, Please Fix Your RMA Link

For several minutes I've been trying to submit an RMA form.

The first time I hit Submit (after filling every box with info) it went to a blank page with a bunch of gibberish at the top of the page. No email was sent. The following few attempts resulted in nothing. After clicking Submit, nothing happens.

Mobo + LP Cooler Question

Question about my Gigabyte B850I Aorus Pro. If anyone has experience with this exact board in an SFF build, that'd be amazing.

I'm thinking of potentially switching over to a console style case and I've been researching the most recommended low-profile coolers in cases such as the Ridge, the new S5M and others alike (9800X3D) so I've got a good idea of available options.

I understand certain coolers conflict with the motherboards VRM shrouds. Some coolers will straight up not fit, others can be rotated to fit.

So I'm hoping someone knows more about this particular board and which coolers likely will or will not be problematic.

Hardware Test #1: Send Me Prayers

I left for work this morning and I've got MemTest running all day as part of my troubleshooting routine to figure out what is going on.

Issue: Cold boot, PC turns on but no signal, GPU lights turn off/on sporadically. Power button to shut down PC doesn't work. Only press and hold kills it.

Temporary fix: Unplug system, cycle through power, reseat GPU and everything works perfectly fine again. The problem repeats only when rebooting or cold boot. Nothing else is plugged into the PC.

Other notes (when able to boot to Windows):

- Everything in HWiNFO reads fine.

- Runs games and benchmarks as if nothing happened.

- Nothing critical shows up in Event Viewer.

Luckily I have another build (wife's) to swap hardware with in case it comes down to that.

Edit: RAM passed. Now waiting to get off work to continue troubleshooting.

Latest BIOS: Completely Different Naming Scheme?

I'm just curious about the latest BIOS version on Gigabyte's website. This is the first time I've seen a label like that. I know it's an alpha build and I'm perfectly content with FA9, just wondering what's new with this one and why it's different than the usual FA labeling, if it means anything at all.

(This is from the B850I Aorus Pro support page)

As If I Need Another Hobby...

I was browsing my local Marketplace and came across some model cars and now I've fallen deep into the rabbit hole of miniatures again. Figured this might be the place to look.

I'm looking for relatively high-detailed Japanese vehicles, preferably on the smaller side (around 1/43, desk friendly). I just have no clue about the brands, retailers, where to look etc. This might be the start of a new hobby. Cost is not of huge concern.

Hope it's alright to ask here!

Potentially Dumb Question

When I'm looking at the standard flatpack kits, what exactly are is included? I'm assuming for a taller stance I'd have to get the feet separately, but what about an AIO mount? Does the kit come with a bracket that allows for AIO installation?

I'm curious about this song titled Untitled One by Odd Nosdam. I've known this song for many years but I'm now wondering where that intro is from, if from anything at all.

0:00 - 0:30 specifically.

The lyrics from what I can hear:

- "In the darkness I see you've been waiting for me."

- "I want you to go."

There is some mixing and editing going on as that's how a lot of the artist's songs are created, so if there is an original source I figure it'll sound a bit differently.

I tried searching but I've been unsuccessful!

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Bonus points for the dialog between "Jim" and the other person. Probably from a movie?
