So I see posts from managers, HR, and recruiters about a thank you follow-up email communication. Some have said they passed on a strong candidate, while others don't like them. So what is the right answer?
The Decuce
So I am headed to Vegas for the first time since I had a stroke in 2024. Time isn't a concern for me, and I've heard stories about how long it takes to ride the Deuce. Given that, is it worth it to ride it? Or just ride the monorail? I'm staying at Treasure Island for context
Promotions
As tag states, not a manager but I wonder this. What is the logic of denying a promotion to someone because “losing them in their current role” would have a negative impact and either promote a lower performing person, or go outside the company? Like it baffles me still. You work hard, do excellent work and you should be rewarded. Instead, you get told “you’re too valuable” to be promoted. To me, it’s an insult. And then, manager is shocked what the employee leaves.
